Start your day with a pickup from your hotel in Arona. Alternatively, meet your guide near the Arona station. When your group is together, you’ll take a ride up to the Simplon Pass, the highest point of the trail that cars can access. A quick stop is included so you can purchase food for lunch.
From the Simplon Pass, you’ll hike for up to two hours to the Staldhorn Peak, which sits at an altitude of 8,077 feet (2,462 meters). The route is steep, but it lends itself to the camera-worthy scenery of the Swiss Alto Vallese, typified by glaciers and mountains. If you hike in the summer months when there’s little chance of snow, it may be possible to hike to the higher Spitzhorli peak instead. Speak to your guide if you're interested.
Stop for lunch, then hike back down to the Simplon Pass where your transport awaits. Your tour finishes at the start point in Arona, or with a drop-off at your hotel.
