Your day trip starts at the railway station in Milan where you'll board the high-speed train for the ride to Bologna. Meet your guide and driver, board your tour van, and set off on the culinary part of your tour.
Visit a cheese maker to learn how Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese is made and aged for up to 2.5 years; of course, you'll enjoy some samples. Then head to the town of Modena for a stop at a balsamic vinegar producer before your third food stop, a prosciutto factory where you'll taste the ham, learn about the curing process, and hear about the importance of meat in this Italian region.
At this point, you'll switch gears to the automotive portion of your tour by visiting the Museo Ferrari. Explore the museum on a guided tour, and take advantage of the option to drive one of these legendary cars with an instructor beside you, if you wish (own expense). From here, your tour continues to a local restaurant for a 6-course gourmet lunch that includes, wine, water, coffee, and a digestive.
After lunch, you'll be returned to Bologna where you have free time to explore Piazza Maggiore and see sights such as Basilica di San Petronio and the Fontana del Nettuno (Fountain of Neptune). It's a quick walk back to the train station to catch the return train to Milan, where your day trip ends.
