Then, pass the lines and head right for the entrance. Stroll through the interior while your guide tells you about the cathedral’s 50 stained-glass windows, thousands of statues, and many works of art. Then, head down the marble staircase to an underground crypt where a 16th-century archbishop is buried. If you’re taking this tour on a weekend, take some free time to explore Milan on your own before re-entering the cathedral. Otherwise, head for the lift to the rooftop. Once you’re up there, take advantage of the views by snapping panoramic photos of the city. Your guide takes you closer to the statues, spires, and gargoyles, and tells you more about the cathedral's history. Afterward, head back down to ground-level, and finish your tour. This tour was wonderful! Our guide Christina was so kind, lovely, and incredibly knowledgeable. Our group ended up being just 2 couples and our guide, which made it easy to see everything and ask questions etc.. There were several other big tours happening, and I was glad not to be with a huge crowd of people! I wholeheartedly recommend doing the rooftop tour as well… the views are breathtaking, and it’s the best way to admire the ornate details in the extensive marble work.

Not to be missed! The craftsmanship is just crazy amazing. If you’re mobile enough, highly recommend going to the roof to see the work more closely. You can get an elevator part of the way up, but the rest and down is stairs. This is a stunningly beautiful building!

Enlightening, educational and professional guide directed us through the Duomo, beginning with the front doors to the massive interior space. Information on history and architecture of the building and it's contents. Could have spent hours inside. As if there wasn't enough to see, we then went up the elevator to the roof. The views of Milan are incredible. Getting a closer view of the statuary adorning the building was also incredible. I can see why this is one of the top spots to tour in the City. Definitely recommend this tour.

Guide was terrific, your was a mess. We were not told we’re to meet up so spent an hour trying to solve the puzzle. This problem repeated on a second tour at sforza Castle, so it appears to be a feature of the program not a big. To make matters worse, the Duomo tour was waylaid by steady rain making the rooftop slippery and creating a long line. No fun waiting in the rain on a slippery roof top for an hour while the line snakes around the roofline and down slippery steps.

Dear Johathan, the meeting point was clearly indicated in your voucher and luckly you could be able to reach it at around 2:13pm (the tour starting time was at 2:15pm so you were in time).
Furthermore in the square there was a big stage in front of the meeting point (so it was not easy to find it) and everything was set up for a concert that would have been take place on the day after, but for sure you forgot to mention this in your review.
The Sforza Castle tour was not belonging to our company so better if you write this part of the review in the correct tour page.
Last but not least it was raining and there was a lot of people on the rooftops, true, but it was not our fault, i suggest you to write this on the Duomo Cathedral Tripadvisor page.
Best Regards
Davide

I would not recommend spending your money with this tour. Our tour guide was very sweet. However, she kept playing with her microphone and would wander away from the entire tour group!! There was a point where we just had a self guided tour because many of our group lost our tour guide. We also spent extra money on the skip the line tickets. We did not get to skip the line when we went to the roof of the Duomo. We had to wait in line like everyone else. For the most part this was a self guided tour and still had to wait in line. I would recommend the cheaper option. I would have given 1 star but the Duomo was beautiful so that is why it gets 2

Dear Peter,
as you can understand everybody have to queue for the rooftop as you have to pass the security check, anyway for the booked groups (like ours) the queue is faster, furthermore you skip the line to get tickets at the ticket office (1 hour waiting), but for sure you forgot to mention this.
Anyway thanks for your feedback.
Best Regards

Very interesting 3-hour walking tour with a pleasant and well educated guide. Highly recommend. We started with the Leonardo da Vinci peace then went to the fort, then continued on to the shopping gallery then saw the Scala and ended up at the Duomo.

Really good guide. A bit hard to understand at first, but we soon were accustomed to his beautiful Italian accent. Thorough briefing on the history, architecture, engineering and construction of the Cathedral. The rooftop was a very unique view of not only the top of the building but of the city as well. The interior of the Cathedral is simply magnificent.

Our tour guide definitely made the experience for us!! It was cold and rainy on the day we did this tour. The church oversold tickets and there was way too many people on the rooftop and in the church. The tour itself would have been perfect if there was less people, even our tour guide said she’s never seen so many people there at once. Obviously the weather was out of our control. But our tour guide definitely made the best of it and kept us entertained and laughing!

Check in was easy and our guide was fantastic. Extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and enthusiastic about history and architecture. The roof tour is well worth the extra time.
Be aware: you may not bring in bags on wheels (even small ones). There is a restaurant nearby that will store luggage for a price.
Also, although the rooftop tour begins with a lift, you still have to take stairs back down. If you find stairs or uneven surfaces difficult, plan for extra time on the roof. It’s worth the effort.

Wear comfortable shoes!!! Milan is a beautiful walking city. The Duomo is a must see and I highly recommend purchasing The Skip The Line pass and be sure to include the rooftop. It's so much more than a view of the city.
We had lunch at a nearby Cafe which was lovely. Street side dining added entertainment for people watching with lovely regional wines and delicious tuna salad. Shopping for clothes was a treat!

Hello
The tour company called and told me that the time needed to be moved up due to some concert being held at the Duomo. U fortunately this did not work for us as we do not arrive early enough in Milan. So i told them we would have to cancel. However I received a 100% cancellation fee warning because this was issue the 24 hour window. I should not be charged for a tour where they changed the time.

How is this an "evening" roof top tour if the only options are 0915 and 1415? Am I purchasing a ticket for the entire day?

Is it really billed as an 'evening' tour? There is no way that it could be safely done after dark or at dusk as you are walking on slanted surfaces a lot.
It is a beautiful tour with lovely views once you get rooftop.
Where do we meet for this tour?

It was confusing, we met across the courtyard when I was there last year. Walking out of Duomo about 300 feet and near last business on left. This tour is especially nice before 10 am or after 5 pm because of heat. Definitely a great tour.
