Our guide Luigi was fantastic. I was in a group of nine which was a good size to enjoy the experience. It was a good tour of Brera and touch on key food of the area and Italy in general. Cappuccino, pastry, ham, cheese, risotto, persecco, pasta, wine, and gelato. A decent amount of history shared to keep things interesting. I highly recommend it if you only have a short time to explore food in the area or are a little nervous order on your own. Everything was included besides any tip for the guide.

This tour was amazing, there was only me, my boyfriend and one other person on the tour, which made it very personal. The tour guide was very knowledgeable about the area and super friendly. The food we tried was so tasty, if you go to Milan I would highly recommend doing this tour!

After a long day of travel, our first activity in Italy was this walking food tour. We ate delicious food from local restaurants not overrun by tourists and had great conversation with our guide. Brera gave us a good taste of a neighborhood off the beaten path in Milan and we received additional recommendations from our guide. Would highly recommend this tour early on your trip.

Georgia was an amazing guide. She shared so much knowledge about Brera’s history, the food, the people! She was extremely kind and knowledgeable. In particular she was patient with us, as my elderly parents took more time than normal. Highly recommend this tour and Georgia!!!

Georgia was an amazing tour guide. Very informative, very friendly, and attentive to the needs of our family (several older folks who walked slower and were very hard of hearing, while keeping it interesting for the teenagers). A great variety of locations and foods, tying it all into the history of Milan and Brera.

I have experienced several exceptional walking food tours usually with Backcountry Culinary tours and they have all been worthwhile. The visit sites were usually selected for having excellent local specialities or historical significance.
Naturally in Milan I expected the same type of experience and was willing to pay the price which turned out to be poor value .
Our guide was very nice and informative but the site selections were mediocre to be kind.
Our tour was a morning tour and our first stop was a pastry shop .
We were given two small pastries without coffee or cappuccino !
You were lucky if you had brought a bottle of water.
The remainder of the tour was equally disappointing both in terms of food quality and historic education.
A random walk through Brera on our own would have likely been better.
As I said I am trying to be kind with this review so I will end at this point.

This is a very well-organised excursion but it's also showing signs of running on autopilot.

Groups of 12 are assembled at the Pattini bakery and assigned guides, with headsets for the commentary. The walk is then in the tight square kilometer of the Brera district, picking up snack-sized portions at each of five or six delicatessens like Rossi & Grassi, or modest restaurants.

You couldn't replicate it for yourself because they wouldn't be serving risotto at 10.30am, but for 70 Euros, the headline price, you could certainly eat much more and much better in these locations.

The guides are conversational, but don't really add a great deal to your understanding of either the cuisine or the history - and it would be a naive traveller to Italy who had never before tasted parma ham, parmesan cheese, mortadella, risotto milanese, meatballs, lasagne or gelato. I think it needs to be a lot more adventurous and to reveal a few more actual secrets of Milanese cuisine.

I'm really glad I chose this tour. As a solo traveler with limited time, it was a great way to get to taste a large variety of food. Everything was delicious. I really liked that this included a walking tour of the neighourhood (and this was helpful for digestion between stops). Our guide was very knowledgeable and happy to answer questions. As others have said, don't eat breakfast.
