We only had time to visit one island and the boat ticket tout recommended Isla Pescatori and it was beautiful. Had a mooch around the quaint streets, sat waterside and had a coffee and the church is well worth a visit. Boat services drum frequently and u can go to the other islands or back to stresa which we needed to do. All in all worth a visit.

Franco is THE BEST boat captain!! I left my wallet in a restaurant on the island and Franco did a Uturn just in the nick of time!! Fabritzio was a fantastic help as well. The parking machine is challenging if you’re a foreign national. Ask for help!

Really blame Trip Advisor for this touring mess. We were under the impression that this high cost of 116.00 for private taxi included everything. IT DOES NOT & purchasing through Trip Advisor made no sense to the taxi company. They had no record of our purchase. Thankfully, I had the confirmation email so they honored the ride but we could have paid $16.00 and received the same transport. Palace & grounds excellent!

This was one of the highlights of our Italian trip. Easy paid parking at the marina. We took the ticket voucher to the ticket office where we received our tickets. Boats leave about every half hour beginning @ 9:00am last boat back from the islands are at around 5:00pm so you have plenty of time to explore the islands. Great fresh fish at the island restaurants and beautiful palaces and gardens.

We had to pay an extra fee before we got our tickets. They called it a docking fee. Cost 3 euros for 2 of us . Also parking 14 Euros for the day.not free

This is basically a ferry service on a smaller boat. We visited on a Saturday in June and didn't go to the first island until around 2:30. We stopped a Isola Bella, which is truly beautiful, but is also a mob scene (which we weren't prepared for.) There are restaurants and vendors on the island. However, we paid to go through the villa and the gardens. The villa was cool, but we were really interested in being outside. The gardens are fantastic. Very old fashioned and meticulously maintained. They have white peacocks! I liked that there was one way to go through the villa and to the outside. By the time we were done, around 4pm our boat simply took us back to Stresa. There was no option to go to Isola Madre. This was unfortunate, but there was no communication. The boat was a bit hard to find, as there are many such outfits, but it was a nice ride.

If the manager I spoke with on the phone and who met me at the boat hadn’t called me a “stronzo” as he walked off just because I showed him that my ticket was for 3 islands and not 2 islands, I would have rated this a lot higher. That’s not the way to treat guests. I let it slide as my family and I just wanted to have a good time. All the other staff were super friendly, polite and showed up on time. My family and I had a boat to ourselves whenever we needed it (just had to call to give 20 mins notice) and we didn’t have to deal with queues. It can be done a lot cheaper for a family of 5, but we loved the convenience and having the entire boat to ourselves.

Easy experience. Was never left waiting for too long and took us to all the islands. Efficient and well priced. I would recommend

Be prepared you will not be on your own, its busy and it costs a few euro's but well worth it. the grounds of the main island with its manicured gardens is absolutely stunning. Isla pescatore is quaint and busy. It was for us an essential part of our trip to lago Maggiore.

We visited the Lake with friends from Milan and took this excursion together. It was perfect for us given our limited time. Visited two of the Islands Isolated Madre and Isola dei pescatori where enjoyed an excellent seafood lunch at the Northern end of the Island. (very reasonable and) . The great thing with this boat was we could get off and on with pickups every hour as the boat loops around.

I did not travel to the islands but really recommend Stresa as quick to reach by train from Switzerland. I stayed in the mountains. You need a car, but the temperature in summer is much better uphill. And the Alpino Garten is really nice to relax.

You pay 15€ for a fixed circuit. You cannot get out in the island you want but when they tell you to. You then have one boat per hour to go to another island. You also have to take into account, that you have to pay to visit the castles. In the island madre you may just wait 1 hour on harbour for the next boat.

Like many other experiences I had in Italy, i just feel ripped off. I have no good memories whatsoever, and this one adds up and i dont think i will ever go to Italy again. Tourists are being ripped off from everywhere. Just dont buy your tickets for the islands in advance, compare before buying
