We had an amazing day for this trip. We first headed to a Isola Pescatori which was gorgeous and had amazing architecture, small shops, and great food. Then we went to Isola Bella which had an amazing palace with Micaela our tour guid, she pointed out specific architectural details and beautiful art. Last was Isola Madre with plants from all around the world and various bird inhabitants of the island. It was an amazing day and trip!

Micaela is terrific. Her husband picked us up at our hotel in Stresa and drove us to Lake Orta. Both speak very good English.

Micaela is knowledgeable and professional, yet friendly and charming. She arranged a tour of three Borromean islands for us, describing the relevant histories of the people that built, owned, resided in and visited these extraordinary properties over the centuries. She also knows quite a bit about the plants in the gardens in and around the properties and the priceless art, furniture and collectibles housed in the structures on the islands. Great way to see a lot and learn a lot while staying near Lake Maggiore. Now we know why her tours are so popular and so highly recommended!

My husband and I really enjoyed the tour. Our guide was fun, knowledgeable and very flexible. It was great learning about the history of the islands. Without the context we would not have had an appreciation for the Borromeo Islands. Also having a boat at our disposal made it easier to come and go as we pleased. I would highly recommend this tour.

I contacted Micaela from Australia many months before our trip to ask her questions regarding her tour. At all times she was quick to respond and always provided a detailed response so I was confident this would be a good tour, and it was. Our expectations were exceeded. Micaela met us in our hotel lobby, and then advised our private boat and captain were waiting across the road at the hotels pier! We traveled between the 3 islands seamlessly with Micaela always making sure our boat arrived just as we finished our tour of the island. Micaela’s knowledge of the islands history, art, plants etc was phenomenal. She also has a very engaging personality and it was a pleasure to spend a day in her company. This is the most efficient and enjoyable way to see the Borromean islands, and I cannot recommend this tour more highly to you.

Our tour and cruise with Micaela was excellent! It was the highlight of our trip to Lago Maggiore. I reached out to Micaela before booking and she was extremely responsive and offered us several itinerary options for the tour. We did a tour of the palace and gardens at Isola Bella followed by a cruise around the lake - Micaela was the perfect guide. She is personable, knowledgeable, and has a great sense of humor. We enjoyed a truly delightful day of touring the Borromean Islands with Micaela. She is an exceedingly knowledgeable guide who provided insightful commentary not just on the islands and the area surrounding Lake Maggiore but also on Italian culture, cuisine, and history. We were three couples touring and the pacing and personalization of the tour was outstanding. Beyond that, Micaela is quite organized and easy to work with arranging the logistics. I simply indicated our location and preferred timing and Micaela took it from there, arranging everything. Oh, and she is totally fluent in English(and French and Italian, of course). A spectacular day. Book her and you will not be disappointed.

Great tour of the islands! Very knowledgeable of the history of the island and all the plants in the botanical gardens. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a private tour guide.

Our private tour of of the Sacred Mount in Lake Orta and the Island of San Giulio with Micaela began with her husband Davide picking us up from our hotel in Stresa. The tour was lovely and so informative. We stayed to eat and shop in Orta before Davide whisked us back to our hotel. I would recommend this tour with Micaela and Davide as a private driver to anyone.

3 couples enjoyed a private customized tour with Micaela that was simply outstanding. I had booked with Micaela 9 years earlier with 12 of my girlfriends so I knew we would be in good hands. Via our private boat we toured the Palace and Gardens on Isola Madre, then a lovely lunch at Casabella on Isola Pescatori and then a tour of the palace on Isola Bella. Micaela shared the history of the Borromean Family and their lovely islands located on Lake Maggiore. In my opinion Lake Maggiore and Lake Orta are so much more beautiful and interesting than Lake Como. If I am the area again I will definitely engage Micaela.
