Arianna was a very generous teacher and host. We had a wonderful time learning about pasta and her town of Tremezzo. She took us to the back garden and she harvested some fresh tomatoes and fresh herbs to use in our dishes. She also offered to take photos of us throughout the class. Highly recommend based on Arianna’s guidance and generosity alone! Note that we did the dinner class which does not have the location well indicated on the Trip Advisor website. We called in advance to make sure we were headed to the right location. We had to do additional research to ensure making our ferries. Luckily Arianna was very helpful with this as well.

Paolo is an amazing host and teacher! He taught us to make two different types of pasta which both tasted excellent. All of the staff were so helpful and welcoming - they set us up a table outside with an amazing view of the lake from the hotel. Everything about this experience was amazing and we could not recommend it enough!

Let me first say that we had a very good time at the actual cooking activity itself and our chef was wonderful. Arianna was lovely and we enjoyed her class immensely. What we didn’t enjoy was that we spent ALOT of money getting to the class location because we were given the wrong address. If you know the Lake Como area, you know that it is very spread out. We chose the dinner class and diligently set up private transportation, (which is very expensive-no Ubers or regular taxis here). The address we received to meet at was wrong. We showed up at this hotel, and thankfully the hotel employee said she had encountered this several times repeatedly and had taken it upon herself to give us poor tourists showing up at the wrong address, the “correct” address. (And to this moment as I write this review, the correct address STILL has not been corrected online). We were told that the actual address we needed was 10 additional minutes away. We literally had to run after our transport car that had almost reached the end of the driveway and bang on the back and thankfully our driver stopped and agreed to take us to the correct address. It was extremely confusing so I’m not sure whether trip advisor or whomever the tour company they use was at fault, but it was not a pleasant experience. There are dozens of these cooking classes offered all over the area and I would suggest not going through Trip Advisor to book. Sorry Trip Advisor, you or whomever you contract with dropped the ball on this one.

Such a fun guide, told wonderful stories of growing up in the area. Hike was so peaceful. Once we reached top of town it was pretty much flat and surrounded by trees and the river. The lunch stop was amazing, with such fresh food! Very much worth it for those that want to get away from the touristy areas of Menaggio and try something off the beaten path.

What a fun day! Paolo was such a gracious host and was interesting to talk with and has a fabulous garden and view of Lake Como that you can enjoy while making and eating pasta! He gave a full lesson on different types of noodles and shapes and we made two different types of pasta. We also were the only two in the class that day so it felt extra special! Lots of prosecco for us!! The pasta was delish and since I am vegetarian they made the accompaniments in line with that which was great too! The views are stunning from the area where you are making the pasta just to remind you that you are in heaven! The walk up to this little hotel is steep so take your time and be patient… it was especially hot while we were there so that made it a little bit challenging but nothing too bad. Taxis are NOT abundant around Lake Como towns so don’t count on getting one to take you there from the ferry but it is only about a 15 min walk uphill to get there… but when youre done…. It is all downhill so that is the bright side!! Definitely highly recommend taking this class definitely was a highlight of our trip!

Our walk up the Senagra valley was wonderful. Our guide, Michael, was knowledgeable and friendly, and provided us with a local’s perspective. The history of the valley was fascinating, and the scenery breathtaking. We greatly enjoyed the lunch stop and learning about the trout farm. We highly recommend this tour.

We set off on our walk with our guide Michael. It was a beautiful day and the scenery was spectacular. Michael was a fantastic guide, keeping us entertained and involved with great stories of the history and development of the area. We walked up through the picturesque valley listening to stories of his family and their history in the Lake Como area and how the valley had changed over time to what it is today. Lunch at the fish farm was absolutely delicious and we were able to watch how the farm was managed with the ecological ideals of its founder. It was a truly wonderful day and I recommend it to anyone who loves to walk, learn about an area and enjoys the natural environment.

We absolutely LOVED our experience with Paolo at Hotel Loveno! His class was amazing- easily the highlight of our trip. Not to mention, our favorite meal we had while in the Lake Como area. One word for the wise- we originally booked via trip advisor, but later noticed reservations for this class were half the price on the hotel's website. ($163 per person vs $80 per person) I would book directly with Hotel Loveno for a better rate!

Brilliant class - Arianna is a great teacher and we met some lovely people. Definitely one of the highlights of our trip!

Fabia was our tour guide and she was wonderful! The whole city tour plus food tour concept was fun and pretty relaxing considering it was a tour. I would highly recommend!!

We spent a great morning in Como exploring the market, the town and... its local flavours! First, we had a good espresso with a pastry. Then we visited the market with our guide who told us the stories of the local producers and described the products available. We also had a tasting of different local cheese at a market stall and it was just awesome. I don't think I would have ever discovered it by myself. Then we continued to a small restaurant where we had a glass of excellent wine paired to some cold cuts. And then the happy ending... a good gelato!

I am honored to write the first review of this experience! We tasted some excellent wine and learned a lot from Paolo who is definitely the best teacher we could have ever met. He showed us the correct wine tasting technique and gave us an interesting insight about wine in Lombardy. We tasted one glass of sparkling white wine, one glass of white and a red wine, paired with some fresh snacks. Strongly recommended!

We spent a great time together, tasting some local food with a very good company. Daniele is an excellent guide and a good storyteller with a lot of knowledge about the town and the food. All the hosts we met along the way were welcoming and expert about food and wine. We felt like locals. Thank you guys!

A great tour to learn about the local food and the local producers. The market is frequented by locals who shop for fresh food so it is a lively and authentic place. The food we tasted in the second part of the tour was simply great. And the company, too.
