We enjoyed walking all the way up. It's worth a stop to see the movie. It is in Italian of course, but there are English subtitles. Worth the 5 minutes to hear the history. They have a system of stop lights (red and green) to show if you can proceed up or not. The system works because the stairway is so thin, only 1 person can fit at one time. Going up they also have stops along the way so you can read about different things and rest if you want!
