- Passport7796460 contributionsGreat pasta making class.Irene our pasta instructor was awesome! I learned how to make bolognase, and 3 different kinds of pasta. She was so helpful and funny. Her husband Marco was great also. You need to sign up for this class!Written October 12, 2024
- lindseybG6801YP0 contributionsWholesome family mealsIrene and her family were amazing to work with. Her recipes are simple in the best way and I’m so excited to try them on my own. This is a must try if you’ve never been.Written September 29, 2024

- conniehQ7986KT0 contributionsA delight! This was so much fun. We went with our friends and their children. Irene is a delivery and very friendly and accommodating. We all had the best time! One of our trip highlights.Written September 21, 2024
- 984mayuriv0 contributionsExcellent experience and foodIrene was excellent, she was authentic but was able to explain things well in English. Her family were friendly and the food was fantastic.Written September 15, 2024
- 708libbyl0 contributionsA great experienceThis was a very sweet experience - a family home and a simple lesson on making pasta - if you are happy to step into the world of a local family this is for you. Irene was very warm and explained everything well. She was a great communicator and shared her grandmother’s recipes with us. The place is not straightforward to find it’s tucked away in an apartment building but we found it eventually !Written September 11, 2024
- 688benjym0 contributionsBrilliant authentic experienceIrene was an amazing host and provided an incredibly authentic experience for our last day in Italy. The food we made was amazing and the recipes we learnt we will remember forever. Thank you Irene for a great experience!Written June 9, 2024
- Roving230831752970 contributionsBrillint experience! We loved this experience! We got a hands on experience making the ragu & pasta & we learnt about the Bologna tradition cooking. There were a couple of other guests on the experience who misread there instructions on how to arrive & they were rude about it & ended up leaving which for us was a bonus because it ment the people who were on the experience were there to enjoy it...& it ment more pasta for us to eat! Both were very welcoming into there home & blessed us with so much espresso, food & wine. Would definitely recommend doing to anyone!Written May 18, 2024
- jamesmP416VT0 contributionsWonderful few hours cooking with IreneMe and my 2 children (aged 11 and 13) really enjoyed the cooking class with Irene. She was an attentive and very friendly host with a passion for food and first class English. The class is held in her family flat with family life going on around you but to us this only made the experience more interesting as you got a feel for how a Bolognese family live. To fully enjoy the experience you must get in the kitchen and help with the cooking of the dishes and not just prepare the pasta. Be prepared to ask lots of questions which Irene is only too happy to answer. We had a great time and my children are itching to put the lessons we learnt into practice. Thanks again Irene.Written April 9, 2024
- Emma L0 contributionsHighlight of Our TripHow could we put this into words? Irene was such a welcoming and generous host and we felt so comfortable in her kitchen. The food was the best that we’ve tasted on our holiday, and we’re sure this is down to such a fantastic teacher. We learnt so much about the history of Bologna and its cuisine, more than any museum or guide book! If you’re looking for a truly authentic and unique experience, look no further!Written November 27, 2023
- Passenger642315043990 contributionsNot at all what we were hopingWe learned absolutely nothing about Italian Cooking, Bolognese or otherwise. Most of the fillings were pre-made, and we only finished assembling the items. We were not involved with assembling or cooking the end dishes.Written October 15, 2023
- catrionag8070 contributionsFantastic evening making pastaWe had a fantastic evening learning how to make pasta in Irene’s home. There were 5 of us - myself and my husband from Scotland, a woman from Australia and a mother and daughter from the US. Irene was very entertaining and educational. We made 3 types of pasta that she then cooked and we enjoyed with wine. Dessert was offered but we were too full! Highly recommend to anyone coming to Bologna. We were staying at the Best Western Tower Hotel which is only 20 minutes walk away. If you’re staying in the city centre, she can call you a taxi when you’re leaving.Written October 8, 2023
- Kathy604350 contributionsHorrible experience!!!Where do I even start??? From beginning to end, this was a nightmare. We waited at the meeting place. No one came to get us. Finally, my husband called. We were told to enter the run-down apartment that we were standing in front of. The class took place in their very cluttered, dirty apartment. The food we made was nasty. The woman does not know how to cook. The woman's husband and son participated. The son had a terrible temper. He would get mad, throw down his utensils, and storm off into his bedroom. When we needed to wash our hands, we were told to use the family's personal bathroom. There was a dirty towel hanging to dry your hands. The class was supposed to be a three-course meal with wine and dessert. It was not. When we finished the class, the family just disappeared into another room and left us alone in the kitchen. We finally got up and left. This entire experience was a nightmare. The class was way too expensive for what we received. This woman has no business conducting a class.Written October 6, 2023
- Seaside048180007570 contributionsGreat experience!Fantastic cooking class. We were lucky enough to be the only people in the class so it was almost a private lesson! We made three different types of pasta which was then cooked by Irene and her husband. All absolutely delicious! It is a distance outside of the town centre but it was nice to see that side of the city. Something we probably wouldn’t have done otherwise. Many different ways you can get there too. We chose to cycle! The class itself was conducted in Irene’s apartment and her family were present. She made us feel very welcome. We have received the instructions for how to re-create the dishes at home. This was done by scanning a QR code whilst we were there… so no excuses not to practise now!Written October 5, 2023

From the NH hotel at the central station we were taken to the cheese farm by bus. Our driver and guide Matteo was very friendly and customer-oriented. He gave a good explanation of the process from cow to Parmigiano Reggiano cheeses.
Then we were allowed to taste the cheese aged 18 and 30 months.

We were personally picked up at home half an hour before the start by our very friendly tour guide.
In a small group, she explained all the processes and gave us a lot of additional information and answered all questions very competently. The parmesan tasting was very generous and extremely tasty. I can only recommend the tour!

Both us and our kids (8 & 11) loved it. We were a small group which is always good while visiting such places. We could observe (sometimes touch) everything from a close distance. Very informative. The tasting at the end was a nice touch, I admit :)

This was such an interesting and 'tasty' tour! We were quite amazed at how they make the parm. cheese & learned a lot. We were also glad to learn how to tell if the parm. cheese we buy in the USA is real Parm. cheese. And we were glad they had a place to buy some to take home. I would definitely recommend this tour & would even enjoy taking it again!

The tour was interesting and the staff explained the process of making Parmesan cheese. They only make the cheese in the morning with warm milk.
We took vans to the farm. Leave extra time to park and find the pick up location.
It was a short lovely drive in the countryside. We passed fields of sunflowers.
After the tour we had as much cheese to taste as we wanted along with a glass of wine.

Really enjoyed this tour. We were picked up from our hotel in Parma, then went out to a small cheese factory where we watched the daily cheese production. The whole "recipe" for the cheese was explained and we did some tasting to finish off. Really enjoyable, only a small group of us.

Loris explained everything very well. Learned a lot about the process.
Could watch part of the production, as well as the salt bath and the storage. Got two different ages to taste and a sip of wine.
Still a bit too expensive

Our guide, Martiri, not sure how to spell his name, was very informative and engaging. It was really interesting to learn how true Parmigiano Reggiano is produced.

If we arrive at the Parma train station at 9:05 will we still make the tour?
Written October 16, 2021
I think you need to ask the tour organizers, as it's a bit outside and you need around 15-20 min by car. I asked if it's possible to have it in the afternoon and that didn't work, as the tour starts with the cheesemaker making the new cheese which needs to be done in the morning. But try and contact them!

Quisiera saber el nombre de la fábrica. Y si puede ser a una hora diferente. Luego si al salir de la fábrica pudiera darme un tour de lo más importante de lugares de comida en Modena, pasando por mercado y comer en casa de un experto. Guia en español
