    Great sightseeing in the Vatican
We had the lovely guide Yulia. We booked the museum tour with Sistine chapel. The tour was very informative and our guide was great. She was fun and had great knowledge about the Vatican. Thanks!! Olof

    Absolute scam.
Absolute rip off. Scum of the earth. We bought tickets off these people to the sum off $550 aus and were booked in at 1.30pm. Whilst in transit we kept in contact with the office into the location to pick tickets up we were running late and were assured by the lady at the desk that there was no issue it was ok. We were also told by the lady on the phone that the walk from the HoponHoppoff bus was 15min which turned out to be 45min which added to the already late time. Upon attending site they told us we missed the early skip line and would not give us our tickets. We asked for a refund and they wouldn’t refund our money either. Absolute scam.

    Disappointed
We booked tickets for 11:30 on arrival at 11:15 to pick the tickets up so we can enjoy our sightseeing in the Vatican we have been told that we need to wait till 12:00 as the Vatican told them that we specifically need to to wait. So better wait on the free que as this is pointless. We still wait more than an hour to get in. 85£ not worth it at all.

    Disappointing, not worth the money
I debated a lot about doing this as a tour or just going by myself, so to try and save anyone else that unknown -- go by yourself. I picked up more from reading a coffee table book on Michaelangelo at a tattoo shop than anything the tour guide had to offer. But, list of complaints in order: We started half an hour past our start time and they tacked four more people on at the end. People who arrived early as instructed basically stood outside in the heat for 45 plus minutes before we even started. The guide kept trying to make jokes, and in other settings, it would be totally fine, but for me, I was there to learn about the area and art not hear stupid jokes about secretly taking pictures when people aren't looking or whatever else. We practically *ran* through the museum. Extremely, extremely disappointed about this because there is so much art work there and the guide's brief comments on art pieces could easily be picked up from the signs by everything. I go with a guide for hope of more in-depth information, not a superficial comment that leaves me feeling even less informed than if I'd gone by myself. The Sistine Chapel was amazing to see and the guide did talk about the paintings ahead of time which was helpful (the one thing I liked), but as other people have commented, it is disappointing how many tourists just chat away and are disrespectful of the requests for silence and no photography (not the tour's fault, obviously). Then they give you a short cut to St. Peter's basilica, but that entrance is free. A bit of wandering around, and then it's over. I thought we'd at least go up or enter the tombs or climb the top or something. Basically, it was a big disappointment, and I was and am super sad that I wasted so much time and money and did not even get to really look at any of the museum. If you actually want to enjoy looking at anything, just go yourself. Any information you might glean from your guide, you could easily do more and better with a quick YouTube video.

    Amazing experience
The tour was amazing. The guide was very knowledgeable and friendly, and gave us interesting details about different parts of the Vatican Museum and the Sistine Chapel. It was a great experience overall and I'd love to have more experiences with them.

    Money well spent
Well worth the extra cost. We met a cheerful guide at a nearby agency and were escorted through the museum entrance with minimal delay. The regular entry queue was horrific! After that we were left to tour the museum and Sistine chapel at our own pace.

    Great tour and easy process
Frederico was a great tour guide! Our tour time was in the morning and we learned a lot about the basilica and Sistine chapel. Well worth the price and no long lines as we walked ahead of the crowd. We did not have a tour of the coliseum and getting the tickets was about 15 away from the site. The process of having to grab your tickets is not ideal but we made it work. Pallentine hill and Roman forum was a quick entrance with out tickets

Seemed very unorganized. You wait at an office for someone to escort the group over. Then wait again for tickets.

Visit to Vatican Museum and Sistine chapel
So much history and information to take in . Maria was a very good guide and provided loads of information and insight and did the the tour in a timely manner without feeling too rushed. Much better experience than the guide we had for the Colosseum, Roman Forum tour.

    Poor scheduling
The tour guide we had was fantastic. No complaints and only compliments. This review is for who was scheduling the timeline. They told us one time but in reality it was another. We had to book a covid test to go home and it was based on the times that were communicated with us. Due to this, we missed almost all of the coliseum tour, and then had to miss the Vatican tour. We came to rome for those two things. Viator sub contracted to republic experiences. I would avoid them if you have any kind of plans. If you are okay giving them your whole day, then run with it.

Definitely recommend having a guided tour
Fantastic from start to finish, our guide Nicola was incredibly knowledgeable and had the answer to every question we raised. The tour was well paced and we got to spend time in the areas we wished to look at in greater detail without ever feeling hurried. Nicola seemed to know every single member of staff in the Vatican museum which is testament to her experience in running these tours. Thoroughly recommend it, without a guide I think the sheer volume of statues and artefacts would have overwhelmed us, and Nicola made sure our attention was drawn to the most important (and interesting) displays.

    Fantastic
The tour was amazing, very informative and worth every penny, the tour company we went with were called Get your Guide.A good company, however I would advise them to tell their guides that it is not at all professional to make derogatory remarks about a country especially when there are people in the group from that particular country and also not to air their political views either.

5/5!! All the Vatican tickets were sold out online so this was the only option that i could find. This was a very convenient way to see the Vatican and skip the general admission line. We meet at their tour office nearby the Vatican to check in and the tour guide walks you over to a designated check in. Once through security, it took about 30 minutes for them to get the tickets for the group. I noticed that the kids in our tour group took longer to check in because they needed to show a valid passport. Once we got our ticket from the tour guide, we were free to explore on our own. I loved to do a self-paced tour to not wait around for a big group and could spend time as i wanted in each of the exhibits. Would purchase again.

It had nothing to do with the actual tour. It’s just that visiting the Sistine chapel is no longer worth it. The museum staff winds you through the entire museum so your wait is well over an hour and a half. By the time you get there, you are exhausted and frustrated and crammed in a very small room with a bunch of people. The Sistine chapel remains a masterpiece, but there is just no good wait to see it anymore.

Skip the line !!!!! Ummm really not what happened. We arrived 3/4 hour early, of our 11:30 start, and we’re told to come back to the ticket office at 11:15. Happy with that as got a drink opposite. Went back in to ticket office and told to wait out side until 11:30. Some of the 11:30 customers were give. Skip the line stickers to wear. We were told to wait until 11:30. The 2 that came out as a “guide” to escort us to the Entrance - 1st was a lady and took nine of the customers. 2nd a young chap took approx 30 of us !!! Last minute struggle for him and her to get everyone that should be there. Very disorganised with both of them asking questions of the other. She took the 1st group approx 5-10mins before we left. Hadn’t got to the end of the street and he stopped again. Started shouting names again and then stopped and carried on. We were then ushered into a queue with no idea what was going on. 1/2 hour later we got into the Vatican entrance and security. To be ushered into a corner. The lady was trying to get tickets and struggling to get enough for all of us. The chap then started talking but a lot of us couldn’t hear what he was saying. Finally we got our tickets but had to keep asking where we go and what we do. No instructions apart from go upstairs. Very very disorganised. Certainly not a skip the line. Would not recommend this at all. Very disappointed 😔

We were told so show up 20 minutes before our reservation (the reservation was at 1:30). We showed up at around 12:30 and were turned away because we were too early. So we walked around and we came back at 1:10. They had told us that they contacted us to show up at 12:45, but we didn’t receive any emails or texts or notifications. They tried to put the blame on us. Finally, they escorted us to join a different group and we were able to go in. The main issue was that they didn’t take accountability for their mistake.

We thought we skipped the queue but actually those without reservations actually
Moved faster than those with reservations as the agency meeting point had to wait for all 93 people to gather 300m away before getting in line. The visit itself was wonderful despite the masses of people but you can save money and time by queuing up and then purchasing a ticket directly at the ticket office inside. Seems online tour bookings has done full circle, now faster and cheaper to purchase physically than virtually :) despite their efforts at the meeting point agency, the ticket office at the Vatican were way more efficient.. sorry but needed to be said. :(

Hi Vincent, Thank you for your review, which is always important to us! During high season Vatican Museums like any other museum in the world is very crowded, and the day which you choose, 31 December is a very special day every year. The queue this day was absolutely huge and people were standing in line for about 3 hours. As for waiting for other group participants, we assure you, that the group tickets that we have, allow us as accredited Touroperator of Musei Vaticani, to enter inside at the exact time, which is mentioned in the ticket, it is not possible to wait for anyone even if we are always trying to make your best, contact the clients who are late, etc. Tickets for the 31 of December usually sold out several months in advance, so unfortunately it is not possible to buy them online. Anyway, we hope that you have a great experience in Museum and in Rome as well. All the best, Vatican and Rome tours

The Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel are incredible. It was June so it was very busy. My advice is to plan better and buy tickets in advance. This option worked really well because I was disorganised, hence it came at a premium. If you book in advance it'll cost 17 euros - this cost me double that

Roberta was simply wonderful as she took us through the Vatican expertly. We did the 10 person tour at 2:30 pm. The Vatican itself was overwhelmingly crowded, but even in these conditions, Roberta delivered interesting and comprehensive information, while keeping track of our group. We had audio packs so that we could hear her. For those going, know that many of the rooms are hot and not air conditioned, so plan accordingly!! Overall, great experience with a great guide!

This helps you skip the line into the Vatican Museum, it isn't specifically a skip the line for the Sistine Chapel. We honestly didn't care about seeing anything except the Sistine Chapel and we were still stuck weaving through crowded corridors of exhibits (and people).

It still does allow you to skip the line of people buying tickets, but you could likely just buy your own tickets ahead of time.

Hi! Thanks a lot for sharing with us your experience. There is no door directly to the Sistine Chapel. As they are connected to each other with the Vatican Museum, you have to pass through from the museum corridors for the Sistine Chapel. There is a casual line for the people who don't have reservation and we are skipping this line with our reservation. So, I am seeing that we serve you very well on that point. Hope you enjoyed your visit and had fun. Kindest Regards

This was a good option for skipping the very long line at the museum. It was worth the extra cost in order to be led in and handed tickets. Took around 20 minutes from arriving at the conveniently located office to getting our tickets. The Vatican Museum/Sistine Chapel was probably the most crowded museum experience I've had, especially at peak tourist season in the middle of the day. If you can't get a ticket ahead of time, consider this option.

The meeting point office is chaos. When you get there 20 minutes early because that’s what you are asked to do, they tell you come back in 20 minutes. 30 minutes later they called our names and we marched over together to the entrance, but because we were late for our assigned time, we seemingly had to wait with hundreds of other people who were also “skipping the line”. When we got inside, there was no line for the tickets! So we could have been inside about 30-40 minutes earlier on our own. It’s not their fault, if everyone buys skip the line tickets, then that line becomes the longer one…. We wish they were more organized.
