I highly recommend a private tour. Our guide, Julia was fantastic. She gave us a high level background of the Vatican before starting our tour which was very helpful. Being able to skip the line was key as the line to get in was enormous.

Tomas was AMAZING. He tailored our tour of the Vatican to interest our teen-age sons (who are normally bored by museums). They are two very different people but he "read" them very well and made the tour interesting and fun for both of them. We (parents) had fun too. Highly, highly recommend Tomas.

We were picked up when the ship arrived at the port, driver was waiting for us. My daughter wasn’t feeling well and on the way to the Colosseum, the driver stopped for my daughter. He was very pleasant and he was nice. He then dropped us off at the Colosseum where our tour guide, Tommaso Bertoldi, was waiting for us. I wish I could give him more than five stars, I cannot explain how brilliant Tommaso is. He took us everywhere. Everything is included in the package he took us. He is a professor of history and his the passion is beautiful to watch. When we got to the Vatican his knowledge, his passion, was contagious. We did our trip in 6 hours and I cannot imagine doing this Excursion any other way because especially the Vatican. It is so full of people and there’s so much to see and do the best way to do Rome. When you use this company you will not make any lies at any of the places included in this excursion Email the company and ask for Tommaso. You will not regret it, I cannot imagine being on the royal Caribbean excursion, with 30 other plus people, and I heard from many passengers on the ship that they did not enjoy the excursion and their excursion is 10 hours long. Had a tour through crown tours,coliseum and palatine hill, our tour guide was sandra her enthusiasm and knowledge was great and her passion shone through.the tour was at a good pace my wife uses a cane to walk and she kept up great there was only one staircase she had slowly come down on the way out of the coliseum, the tour was great value for money and Sandra was a joy. Would highly recommend crown guided tours.

Wheb you finally reach sistine chappel you see the trip was worth it. The art on the cieling is amazing. Michelangelo did such a masterpiece. I wish it would be less crowwded, so you could enjoy in peace and quiet.

At almost $400 a couple this was certainly an expensive tour but definitely worth it. Absolutely no waiting for 3 very important sites! we were not rushed, our guide was patient and thorough

Wow! This exceeded our expectations! We only had one day to spend in Rome with our two 18 year old kids. Romina was amazing and has an encyclopedic knowledge of gods, emperors and popes! 4000 years of history in 8 hours and 17000 steps. We were exhausted but learned so much and had an amazing day which included the Colleseum!, Palatine Hill, the Roman forum, Trevi Fountain, the Spanish Steps, the Vatican Musuem, Sistine Chapel, and St. Peter's, plus everything in between. Our only complaint is that we needed a longer break at lunch to recover from the heat and humidity. Not for people who cannot walk 8 miles.

The experience was amazing and Tomaso our guide was fabulous! The only negative thing is that we were not offered an option for those who have mobility issues even though they are there. If you need mobility accommodations please ask for this when you buy your tickets. They are available.

Francesco was our guide!!...he was an excellent guide with extensive knowledge of the history,art & culture of the vatican...He did not rush us through the sites. Thoroughly our visit!! We booked this tour after seeing the excellent reviews on TripAdvisor and we were not disappointed! Our guide Tommaso met us at the stated place (at the with the statues near the entrance to the Vatican museums). It was a very busy day and we had struggled to find him at first but he was easily contactable via text so we found him eventually. There were only 4 of us on our tour, which was perfect. Tommaso was very knowledgeable and presented the information to us with a lot of passion. The tour itself lasted three hours, and took in Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel and St. Peter's Basilica. Excellent value for money, and the skip-the-line entry was very welcome :)
