About
This is a unique tour since you will explore one of the most remarkable Roman road , the Appian way with its splendid ruins and enjoy a watercolor session with the teacher Jessica Pintaldi. We will visit the tomb of Cecilia Metella and the splendid Villa of Massenzio, together with the Circus and the Mausoleum built after the premature death in 309 B.C of his son Romulus. We will reach finally either the Saint Callixtus catacombs, lying below the Basilica of the same name. At the end of the tour will follow a watercolor session conducted by the watercolorist Jessica Pintaldi. The watercolor sketch session is available both for beginners and adults.

Le visite con Claudia, sono delle vere e proprie immersioni nel passato. I suoi racconti e le descrizioni sono sempre molto dettagliate e documentat,e ma nello stesso tempo risultano chiare e comprensibili anche per chi si avvicina alla storia passata per la prima volta. Durante le visite si spazia da racconti mitologici e leggende, fino a riti ed eventi storici : battaglie,intrighi amorosi, usi e costumi della cultura e spiritualità antica. Ho partecipato a diverse visite sia in spazi esterni che nei musei piu' significativi della Capitale. Fino ad ora non ho avuto occasione di partecipare alle sessioni di acquerello, ma prima o poi provero' anche questa esperienza.

abbiamo trascorso una bellissima mattinata con Claudia percorrendo a piedi un lungo tratto dell'Appia antica che conserva sempre il suo fascino millenario. Claudia è stata una guida molto esaustiva, da archeologa qual'è è riuscita a catturare l'attenzione anche dei più giovani, unendo alla sua simpatia e preparazione anche divertenti aneddoti e curiosità sulla Roma antica. Interessantissima la parte della visita all'interno delle Catacombe di San Callisto. Per mancanza di tempo abbiamo preferito saltare la sessione di acquarello anche perché stava venendo a piovere.. il tour si può effettuare quindi anche senza la parte artistica ma resta sempre molto interessante e consigliatissimo! sicuramente ci rivolgeremo nuovamente a Claudia per effettuare qualcun altro dei suoi tours a piedi a Roma e dintorni.

Grazie Jak . Sei stato un ospite meraviglioso e molto interessato all'archeologia della magnifica Appia Antica! Scommetto che quello che ti e' piaciuto di piu' sono stati i magnifici affreschi delle catacombe di San Callisto e anche il pranzo di autentica cucina romana alle catacombe di San Callisto!
