About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- F3815CYdanielc0 contributionsDidn’t appreciate your bad attitude.I booked this service from Fiumicino airport to our hotel on a day/date which the operator had marked as available. Paid up front. Then 1/2 hour later I get an email - from Trip Advisor, NOT the operator - saying that a refund had been issued. Huh? So I messaged the operator to ask what happened and they messaged back saying, “I don’t have a car available, what’s so hard to understand?” Well, not hard to understand at all except the operator didn’t contact me to explain why he cancelled AND it was an available date on his availability calendar. Very unsatisfactory experience and I didn’t appreciate the snotty tone of his response. Get your act together and keep your availability calendar properly updated.Written October 24, 2022

- Barry K0 contributionsIf you are looking for a personal guided tour of Rome - Look no further!Rome Limos Tours is so great! - right from the time you make your reservation to the start of your tour. Internet reservations with this company are prompt and efficient. They ask for nothing to start the process, they confirm your reservation and they "Deliver their promise of service and professional tour guides" Our point of contact, Daniele was awesome - setting up and confirming our reservation giving us the piece of mind that we needed. Next our tour guide and driver, Filippo Bellucci made our touring day of Rome a complete delight. Filippo promptly pick us up at our hotel in a new Mercedes van. He went over our itinery that he had planned to insure we were happy. As our tour unfolded,Filippo's presentation demonstrated his knowledge of both historical and today's Rome. The entire tour (7 hrs) was incredible - Travellers this is the way to beat the crowds and have that extra time to enjoy the sites and points of interest. That all said, at time of reservation if you have a "bucket list" of sites or points of interest you'd like to see, make sure you mention it, as they will make sure you are not disappointed. BTW make sure Filippo takes to one of his favorite restaurants to enjoy a true Italy luncheon. Daniele and Filippo are great ambassadors for their company and the city of Rome. Both are nice people to deal with on your travel adventure. Bravo!!Written October 28, 2018
- Lyan C0 contributionsGreat tour! What a wonderful experience. My family was on a cruise and had just a day (12 hours) to get as much from Rome as possible. We booked this tour on recommendation from a friend. Our driver Nik, was an excellent tour guide. He took us to all the must see places such as the collaseum (which had a 1.5 hour wait line and we decided to see other stops.) Nik took us to an amazing view point and we got to take breathtaking photos along with the collaseum. We also went to 2 beautiful churches and markets where we were able to walk around and take great photos. We also visited the trevi fountain and another fountain with an amazing view of the city of tome. You were able to see all the churches in the city. We visited the Vatican which was a different world on its own. The family had an amazing lunch which for less than $25 euros per person we were able to have 5 appetizers(x2, for a group of 8), a pizza, 2 different pastas, and unlimited red or white wine which was so good it was priceless. At the end of the tour we stopped for gelato which was the perfect end of the tour. I highly recommend this tour for anyone seeing Rome whether it’s for a few hours such as us on a cruise or if you’re there for a few days. Nik is highly informative and greatly educated and open to answering all our questions on this city’s amazing history.Written July 28, 2018
- DTWtravellers0 contributionsRome ExperienceMy wife and I were travelling Italy with another couple. Part of the arranging we did was to go on a ROME AT NIGHT tour. Our driver Alex from Joe Banana picked us up promptly at 8pm at our hotel. Alex packed us in his car. The vehicle was clean and well maintained. Unfortunately, when there are four people in the car plus the driver, someone has to sit in the middle in the back seat which obstructs the view. We did rotate throughout the tour however, a bigger vehicle would have been better. Alex took the time to explain the history for Rome and the importance of each site he took us to. We saw many of the historical highlights such as the Vatican, The Spanish Stairs, The Coliseum and the Pantheon just to name a few. After three plus hours, Alex returned us to our hotel. Overall it was a great evening but if we did another booking with Joe Banana we would request a larger vehicle for all to enjoy.Written April 26, 2018
- catsmit750 contributionsHighly recommendMy husband & I along with 3 other couples met through a Cruise Critic roll call and one of the other couples organized a day tour with RomeinLimo tours for us. We visited Mt. Etna & Taormina. Since our visit to Taormina was just prior to the G7 summit, security was extremely tight and all the cruise ship tours were cancelled. Since we were booked in an 10-12 passenger van instead of one of those large coaches the cruise lines use, we were good to go! Our driver, Luca was wonderful and never rushed us at either location. Taormina was a beautiful city and we were glad we got to see it compliments of Luca & RomeinLimo. We would definitely use their services on a future visit to Italy.Written March 21, 2018
- Too Poor 20 contributionsJoe Banana - Civitovechia - Rome Highlights Tour with Alexander (Alex)We booked a Joe Banana tour via the internet for the Civitovechia, Rome – 9-hour tour. The process was very easy, they answered our emails promptly and thoroughly. We asked to see the main highlights of Rome in 8 hours. Alex delivered, despite some heavy traffic to/from Rome! Our driver, Alexander (Alex), spoke excellent English. He met us at the cruise port Civitovechia entrance. It's about a 90 minute drive from the port to Rome in traffic. Alex was very punctual, respectful, extremely knowledgeable and proud of the Rome, Italy history, landmarks, etc. He really should be a history professor with his intimate and detailed knowledge of all of the buildings and sites in Rome. Alex is extremely passionate about the history of the city, and thoroughness of his explanations of all of the major and minor buildings, sites, churches, landmarks, etc. We saw St. Peter’s Square, the Colosseum, the Roman Forum, overlooks of the city, the Forum, the Pantheon, Plaza Navona, the "Wedding Cake" (Il Vittoriano Monument), Climb the Spanish Steps St. Peter’s Basilica, Vatican City, and the Trevi Fountain. Alex drove us around the 7 hills of Rome explaining each to us. He took us to see the nondescript door to the Priory of the Knights of Malta up on the Aventine Hill, just past the orange grove. We peeped through the “keyhole” to see a perfect view of Saint Peter’s Basilica across the city. We were 3 adults driven around in a very clean, comfortable Mercedes S class vehicle. Alex was flexible during the 8-hour tour and even got us to the St Peter's plaza in time to see Pope Francis’ weekly Wednesday brief speech. That was the highlight of this 1st time trip to Europe for us! While some people may not like all of the history lessons, we thoroughly enjoyed it. It was much better than listening to a fixed audio playback. Alex was very concerned that we got to see all the splendor of Rome, and understood what each site was. Alex is a fabulous driver & tour guide! Thank you, Alex and Joe Banana for providing us with an extraordinary visit of your fine city!Written October 10, 2017
- TPC01180 contributionsRoman history done in styleWhen your cruise ship is in Citavecchia, 90 minutes from Rome, you need some smart planning and the right tour company to make the most of your excursion time. Rome LimosTours is that company. Owner Daniel made it easy to book and upon arrival our Two guides, Aldo and Filipo took turns narrating the amazing history and architecture of the Eternal City. As our day was the Feast of St. Peter & St. Paul, the Vatican was not on our agenda but we couldn't have crammed anymore in from the detail surrounding the Trevi Fountain (coin tossing instructions included), Spanish Steps and "Ugly Boat," the Colosseum seen inside and out, the Pantheon and too many other sights to list here. Their knowledge was impressive and delivered with a passion for making our day special. As if all of Rome wasn't enough we finished the day with an extraordinary lunch at Ristorante Pagnanelli overlooking a lake and very near the Pope's summer residence - the food and service were both five star and only outdone by the amazing views of the Italian countryside. I would highly recommend this group for any tour of Rome where you want something other than just seeing the sights!!Written June 29, 2017
- C K0 contributionsJoe Bananas does an excellent job in RomeWe created a group of 8 for a van which filled up quickly. Our group had been to the Vatican so we chose not to include that on this trip. We saw the Colisseum, overlooks of the city, the Forum, the Pantheon, Plaza Navona, the "Wedding Cake" (Il Vittoriano Monument), St. Peter's Square and the Trevi Fountain during our 8-hour tour. Our guide was wonderful and the small size of the van got us up close to all venues so we didn't have to spend a lot of our day simply getting to the sites. He took us to a wonderful little locally owned restaurant where we were treated like family (we were given a choice of a sit down restaurant or street café). The food was delicious and it was a nice, authentic little Italian restaurant with all the character and flavor of Italy. With the great service and ability to park so closely, this really was not too much to cover in one day and is a fabulous way to see Rome. We highly recommend Joe Bananas and used them in a number of cities in Italy.Written May 27, 2017

- So-fa-la4110 contributions2 Wonderful DaysWe are a multigenerational group of 8 most of us on our first trip to Italy. We booked 2 trips from Rome. One to Pompeii and Sorrento and one to Florence. Our driver's name was Luca. He was absolutely delightful. He made sure we were happy and comfortable every step of the way. He was knowledgeable and could answer questions on every subject. The van was clean and comfortable. We would highly recommend using this company. It is a little pricy but you get what you pay for and more.Written November 27, 2015
- nutmeg1330 contributionsGreat find in RomeWe used Rome Limos Tour for a day trip to Pompeii and the Archeological Museum in Naples. Our group of seven friends were met at our hotel in Rome and driven to Pompeii where we met our fabulous guide. After lunch we toured the museum with the same fine guide. It was economical and efficient and a highlight of a fabulous trip. Our driver, Daniele, recommended a superb restaurant in Trastevere where we enjoyed a wonderful dinner at the end of our adventure.Written November 25, 2015
- ycnan40 contributionsA valuable whirlwind tour of Rome! Our family of nine were picked up at Civitavecchia, the cruise port closest to Rome, and we were able to have a superb day - seeing it all! Tickets into the Sistine Chapel and a knowledgeable and happy tour guide of St. Peters were all pre-arranged. That is a MUST. Our drivers were THE BEST. (Had two vans for the nine of us) Working with a company who was easy to book with (excellent English) and who wanted to meet every one of our "must sees" was - to say it simply - JUST RIGHT. Thank you Rome Limos Tours!Written August 10, 2015
- cindy t0 contributionsReliable, reasonable and friendlyBecause of their terrific reviews, we used Rome Limos Tours twice. Daniele was waiting for all 7 of us when we arrived in Rome and he was in the lobby of our hotel waiting for us when we departed. The van was clean and Daniele was so nice. Do not hesitate to email him, he will respond quickly to any inquiry. Once we booked, he sent us an email confirming all the details. I'm going to use Rome Limos Tours again in May, when my son leaves Italy from studying abroad. It is comforting knowing someone will be there for you after a hectic trip. One less thing to worry about.Written April 9, 2015
