About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- aipes10 contributionsVery good tour of the museumSmall group tour was quite enjoyable. Feels like two hours that the museum allows per entry is not enough to see everything we wanted to see. Our guide did a very good job discussing the sculptures and key paintings. Would definitely recommend this tour to friends and family.Written January 6, 2025
- O398SEannm0 contributionsTour guide should have started on time. Our tickets had pointed reminders about arriving 15 min. early for pre-check as the tour would leave on time. NOT. About 30 min. after pre-check, the other dozen Americans on our tour to finally showed up without one word of apology to those of us waiting on the curb. Next we waited as their wives unburdened themselves of all their shopping bags and used the restroom. We are now almost 45 min. late for a 2 hr. tour. Unlike the men in their group, the ladies followed along with disinterest before finally disappearing from our group all together. In my opinion, the tour guide should have started the visit on time, per our ticket and left without these stragglers. We were rushed through our tour and struggled to see over other groups as rooms were now double booked for viewers.Written January 2, 2025
- LiaSusana0 contributionsStunning!Federico is amazing! We were thoroughly impressed by his incredible depth of knowledge—it was both precise and comprehensive. One of the highlights of the tour was the perfect pacing. Federico’s calm demeanor and the well-structured path allowed us to fully immerse ourselves in the experience and truly enjoy the beauty of the Galleria. Highly recommended!Written December 31, 2024
- Jim K0 contributionsSimply astounding BerniniAt the better part of 2 hours, this was a reasonably deep dive into the world of baroque art and how it was influenced by the renaissance, Roman and Greek art, culminating, in my opinion, in an astoundingly beautiful experience with the Bernini sculptures. If you’re not moved by the genius of these pieces, you’re not paying attention to life. Our tour guide, Federico, was the highlight of a week of tour guides across many venues, as he had the knowledge and passion to weave art history into the greater history of the region and people involved. A bit long for my 19 year old college football fan son, it was just right for me, so a successful compromise.Written December 31, 2024
- lidiasienk0 contributionsA guide that made a difference!Very knowledgeable guide, made our tour fly by! Not only she explained all the highlights of the museum but she also made it like she was telling a story. A true art class for me, my husband and my teenage kids. Highly recommend it!Written December 29, 2024
- rebeccasS4063VN0 contributionsMust see in Rome!Virginia (Aria- spelling might be wrong) was the best tour guide. Her excitement was contagious and she was wonderful to walk around with. She provided so much history to the time of the sculpture or painting as well as insight into the family. She answered all our questions and just great dialogue. This was a late addition to our trip but one of the best experiences. Highly recommend.Written December 23, 2024
- robe12345670 contributionsMasterpieces of Italian art. This was one amazing visits. Guide provided very interesting and beautifully presented overview of both Caravaggio and Bernini arts and sculptures. To see all those masterpieces in person is treat enough. But having someone provide historical context is increadible. My only complaint is that 2 hours is simply not enough time but I guess that is the best that can be done. I recommend this tour.Written December 22, 2024
- Guide320627070660 contributionsFalse advertisementThe tickets stated that audio guide us included. However, the gallery refused to provide it and demanded additional payment. Not much, but it is annoying that what has been advertised is not actually delivered. Also, tickets were available at the gallery at half price.Written December 21, 2024

I have never done a tour like this but loved it. I won’t do a jump off and on bus ever again!! Julian had deep understanding of the history of Rome. - LLLorenzo0 contributionsViator TripAdvisor cancelled out reservations and NEVER refunded us!!!We booked these tickets on August 29, 2024 through Viator Trip Advisor. 3 days before the tour on October 26, I received a text saying they could not issue The tickets and the reservations were cancelled. We scrambled and had to pay double for a guided tour. However, Viator NEVER refunded our money even after numerous requests and I finally contacted my Credit Card company to contest the charge!!!!Written November 11, 2024

She was amazingly articulate, knowledgeable, and professional. The tour was so great due to the history of Casa Saint Angelo, and the detail and color Clarissa delivered. Oleg/Alec was a very good tour guide. He was very knowledgeable and we enjoyed the tour very much. He provided us with the background of this structure and explained the levels of construction. The top of the Castel provided the most amazing views of the city!

We bought skip the line tickets as tickets set out really fast. Easy meet with the Loving Italy rep who introduced us to our guide Selena but we went into a quite empty Castel Sant Angelo, because it was still early. Great tour, Selena was very knowledgable and pointed out things which we would have missed on our own. She told me that Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip were the last people to eat in the main hall, but couldn’t remember the date, later in the hall she told me the date but admitted looking it up.
Really fascinating look through the history and uses of this place.
When we were leaving, the queues were huge and the place looked uncomfortably full, get in early!

Wow! The tour with Agnese was absolutely excellent! I’ve been to Rome so many times and had no idea Castel Sant’Angelo had such an incredible amount of history and stories and links to the entire city and country all hidden within its walls. It is gorgeous inside, with papal chambers and yet also houses medieval dungeons and ancient Roman tombs. Agnese really knew her history and is a phenomenal story teller. Highly recommended!

Although it was nice to have someone who knows the historic building guide us though it’s nooks and crannies, the guide was very difficult to understand. Her accent was so pronounced that my husband couldn’t make out what she was saying. We felt the price was steep and that the experience wasn’t worth it. If I had to do it again I would just get an audio guide. I don’t know if I’ve ever given a bad review… but there’s always a first time, right?

Fantastic journey through Roman history from the ancient emperor's to more recent Vatican history.
Agnese was easily the best tour guide we had during our time in Rome and her passion for the location, history and art shone through. Each location was illustrated with fascinating stories that brought the history to life and told a clear narrative throughout the entire tour.
Couldn't recommend more and huge thank you to Agnese for giving us one of the best experiences of our holiday!

The site was outstanding and we really enjoyed the historical Aspect and beautiful views of the city. However, we were terribly disappointed that the tour guide spent a great majority of the time bashing the catholic christian church. We understand that everyone has a personal opinion about politics and religion but we were on vacation and were on the tour to learn about Roman history and to see the castle . His constant complaints become tiring as we were trying to enjoy viewing the architecture and art on display.
Unfortunately, Our tour guide had pornography on his phone that he reported was linked to the Catholic Church on display for everyone to view and at that point being offended, we walked away and concluded the tour on our own.
We recommend this tour but not this tour guide.

We had no idea about the history of this building but from reading a good review decided to try this tour. It was well worth it. We would not have learned as much as we did without some type of tour. Our guide Alec was a great guide, sharing his knowledge while making the tour interesting and entertaining. It was our first day in Rome after getting off the plane at 8 am so it did take someone special to hold our attention for the 3pm tour. Other tours that we took in the days after this one all confirmed and added to the education we took away from Alec's tour. After the tour, we did have a drink at the restaurant to relax and take in the beautiful views.
I also appreciate when tours offer headsets - it is the most equitable way for everyone to hear what is being said or asked.

The Castel Sant’Angelo has one of the best views of Rome. As we ascended the building, our tour guide Alex detailed its history, from its beginnings as the tomb of Hadrian, to a defensive castle for Popes. At the top there is one of the best views of Rome, and a bar where you can enjoy a drink while you bask. If you have time, don’t miss this.

Medieval castle later used by the popes as a fortress. There are 5 levels. Near the top you will find a cafe where you can enjoy a snack, if time permits. The 360 views are amazing once you reach the very top level.
