We had arranged with Samarcanda Taxi to have a driver pick us up at our hotel in Rome and take us to Castelo Gandolfo, the Pope’s summer residence , which is about an hour outside Rome. The driver came promptly and dropped us off at the Castelo. A second driver picked us up, and while there was a short delay in connecting with him, it worked out well in the end.

I booked/ paid in advance in September. I left Rome 10/2 and noted an 11:15am pickup. I was sent a text 15 minutes before the car showed up and the driver came into my hotel and asked for me by name. This went really smooth and I enjoyed learning more about Italy and upcoming events during the ride to the airport. Definitely using them again!

I customized my tour to go to specific destinations and just gave the chauffeur my list with addresses. He was knowledgeable about the city and figured how to plan the ride. My visits went very well and I was super pleased.

After a long train ride from Bolzano, I decided to give the regional train a miss and book a taxi instead - and what a great idea it was. The evening before, the dispatcher gave me a tentative budget and the meeting point at Termini, telling me to call upon arrival. After my phone call went unanswered, I whatsapped and a taxi was found quickly. The driver was friendly, kind and experienced, and managed to wrangle us from the traffic mayhem which is Rome as fast as he could, depositing us in front of our Castel Gandolfo hotel, in a very narrow street. Car modern and clean, and budget realistic, even with the traffic and the 19:30 hike in tariff. Very well recommended.

Terrible customer service. Rude drivers. DO NOT USE THIS CAB SERVICE IF YOU CAN HELP IT. The hotel front desk ordered a cab for us and we were told it would arrive in 5 minutes, when the cab finally arrived, 10 minutes later, they took someone else . Then another cab arrived and took others. After waiting almost 15 minutes, we went back in the hotel to inquire why the cabs were not picking us up, and a 3rd cab was ordered. Once it arrived, the driver didn't speak or understand any English and could understand we wanted to go to the mall. We went back to the hotel for a second time to actually get the receptionist, and she came out to the cab to translate for us. To make matters worse, the driver was on his cell phone the entire time talking very loudly to someone. We had the same issue returning from the mall with the driver not knowing how to get us to the hotel and talking on his cell phone. Rude and incompetent service!!! Pick another occupation if you don't want to interact with people!!!!!

Best taxi service in Rome. Good cars and drivers. Samarcanda is my preferred company whenever I need taxi. Would be good to have more available cars as sometime difficult to find

The driver overcharged me for the ride from my address to Termini Station, with the excuse that the night surcharge applies until 7am. It was 6.44 and the night surcharge ends at 6. I am very disappointed

I booked and prepaid a taxi transfer from Rome to Fiumicino Airport through Samarcanda's website. The whole process was super easy and they WhatsApp'd the taxi driver's details to me about 30 minutes before my requested time. My driver was early, courteous, and helped me with my bags. The ride to the airport was very smooth and since I had already paid, all I had to do was to unload my bags and that was it! I'm very pleased with the service and would recommend it if you're looking for a fuss-free transfer service in Rome.

I made an online reservation a day before travel to be picked up at 1:45 PM from the city of Rome to the Airport. At the day of travel nobody showed up. I called the main number and the answer was I made a reservation at 1:45 AM and not 1:45 PM. I confirmed that I wrote 1:45 PM. They send me another taxi and they forced me to pay the taxi another time. I was able later to dispute the initial charge with my credit card company. I consider charging me twice for the same service is a fraud and they need to upgrade their online reservation to alleviate any potential confusion with the military time versus the AM PM time. I have a feeling that they left this confusion intentionally to prey on tourists coming from US or Asia and charge them twice for the same service. I urge the management to fix the glitch on their Online reservation system ASAP.

Samarcanda 065551 Taxi's were excellent and well priced. We used them to catch an early morning flight from Trastevere to the airport. The driver was early and a good driver. It was a convenient option for us at 4 am and we would highly recommend the service.
