    Very Bad
I bought the ticket almost two months in advance and one day before they canceled it. They left me with no option to buy a new ticket, they didn't even offer a new time or any help, they canceled it and disappeared from the map... A trip planned for months, I crossed the globe and when I got here I was left helpless, terrible company, don't do anything with them.

These guys are a scam. They cancel my booking before few hours when I already reached to the meeting point. Please don’t book through them. They will cancel at last moment and then have their guys contact you and buy tickets at a much expensive rates.

Bought a ticket but it never appeared
I bought a ticket through TripAdvisor/Viator to see the Vatican and the Sistine chapel. When we got there to pick it up, they had no evidence of us even booking/a ticket even though I had paid and received a confirmation number. The staff there tried very hard to find it-calling the office etc. They even tried to figure out a way for us to get tickets as this was our last day in Rome. There were no tickets available. They told us our only option was to go back in the ticket line (long) and hope to buy another ticket, and then get back in the line we were in. Successfully negating the fact of the skip the line ticket I had purchased. Needless to say, they thankfully refunded our ticket. BUT I did NOT get to see the Vatican. Ruining that experience. The staff, atleast tried their best to accommodate. But someone dropped the ball. Badly. If you book, apparently book through them. Not through TripAdvisor. Because you may not get your ticket and your experience will be ruined like mine.

    Great time. Great pics.
Max did a wonderful job showing us around the city. It was fast and the way to do it since it was so hot!!! I did tip him on the app and in cash and Max said he doesn't get the tip online.

Worth the money to skip the queue in the heat!
I have always been pretty sceptical about 'skip the queue' experiences but I left it too late to book regular tickets online so gave it a go. I found my guide Cristina very easily with her instructions and she led me into the museum right at opening time. It took about 15 mins from meeting her to being in the museum. She also shared a bit of history and local knowledge, and gave some handy tips for my visit to the Vatican. Honestly, if you have the money to skip the queue in summer, I would 100% recommend. I arrived at about 7.45am and the queue was already several hundred people long, with no shade in already 30+ degree heat. Would definitely do this again.

    it felt like a fraud.
i bought two tickets to the coliseum in rome with skip the line . first of all i don't understand the system of why do i have to find somebody in the street to give me the ticket instead of receiving it online. when i got there it took 15 minutes for the person to arrive then another 10 minute for the office to send them by mail. after that she gave some excuse that because of some reason maybe we will hae to stand in the regular line we went to the gate and they said that there are no skip the line ticket. probably i was over charged i didn"t check what the price is for the regular entry fee but most likely i was cheaper. so i woudn't recomend

    TERRIBLE
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, FIND AN ALTERNATIVE. I brought my two children to Rome so they could experience the colosium. We arrived at the meeting point (which wasn't the address given). I showed the lady my confirmation and QR code. I asked for our tickets to the colosium and they didn't have them. They said "we have not added my booking to the system in the office". This wasn't an issue to them though as they gave me someone else's ticket. When I tried to get in the security asked for ID and didn't allow me access. I flew in from Edinburgh UK to see the colosium and we couldn't see it. They then issued a refund saying it was down to an unexpected closure. Please see attached images as this was just a lie. My kids travelled all the way home and missed one of the only things we came to see.

    A Guided Journey of Wonder
Our visit to Vatican City and its Museums, guided by an expert, was an extraordinary experience. From the awe-inspiring St. Peter's Basilica to the breathtaking Sistine Chapel, every moment was enriched by our guide's knowledge and passion. Sharing this sacred journey with my partner made it even more unforgettable. Five stars don't seem enough to capture the magic we experienced. Thank you, Ancient & Recent, for a guided tour filled with wonder and love.

The VR was amazing to see, and felt like stepping back into the past of the area you are currently standing at (the collosseum). The music, audio guide, and visuals were certainly a great highlight of the trip. I chose the self-guided tour as I like taking everything in at my own pace and not being stuck with a group, so the virtual experience and tour beforehand were an excellent way of bringing in that learning aspect with exploring the collosseum. Mattia and Mattias were amazing guides, very friendly, cooperative, and helpful and made me feel welcomed.

We took a guided tour which wasn’t spectacular, however it was during the public holiday so to be fair it was insanely crowded and hectic. I’d recommend Googling Colosseum and reading the history before the visit and it would be more fun going without a guide. Also Google restaurants nearby and stay away from the ones in very close proximity.to the Colosseum which is spectacular.

We met our “guide” outside the Coliseum to get our passes to enter and learn what to expect. She told us to go in, show our pass, and scan the QR code inside to get our self-guided tour. We entered, immediately got to the kiosk with the QR code, and both started downloading the guide. The “guide” was an app that you had to get from the App Store; free, but a step we didn’t expect.
We both had iPhones. I got the app, and subsequently the guide, in about 6 tries (it would start the installation, then stop after nearly done; even more exasperating, it would install 99% of data and then begin to “extract” data. Have I been hacked?)
My sister was never able to download the thing, and there was no one there to help (we tried, several times and every avenue we could find). The person who had checked us in outside had long since left; the people inside the coliseum worked for the guided-tour companies. We wasted about half an hour doing this; had hoped to get to the Forum afterwards, but used too much time getting the app. Ultimately we shared my AirPods, one for each of us, to listen to a whopping 6-part audio tour that was completely disjointed from what we were seeing, extremely limited, and not very informative. Also all 6 parts may have totaled 15 minutes but probably not even close.

I think the Coliseum itself is under restoration, but the puny audio guide had no clue. The whole thing was such a waste of time and money that we regretted making the trip and the effort.

Stay home and find a YouTube or history channel piece on the Coliseum. You won’t learn anything from this. Waste of $75.

Dear Carolyn, It is so sad to read your review. Stating that visiting the Colosseum is a waste of time and money, just because an app was not working appropriatelly, it is pure sadness. Please be aware that you never booked a guided tour but a simply skip the line ticket. You had a fantastic welcome from our staff, instructions and you were accompanied to the Colosseum entrance, according to product description. Furtheremore, please be aware that in your package it has never been included any app etc, we are not responssible for third parties factors you had decided to access, so you have been provided with exactly what you had booked. We really does not deserve your 1 star review, but at least 4 stars. It is like whaen you buy a flight and you have a bad experience at the aeroport. Very sad and very dissapointing people like you who don't appreciate a place like the Colosseum, the history, the culture...there was a lot of material to read around...Very very sad but not for us, for you! Regards, staff

Our guides were at the meeting point on time and with tickets and a game plan. They got us in as quickly as they could given the somewhat poor security setup at the Colosseum, which is obviously out of their control. They also offer a 5 euro per person add-on guided tour which we declined, but in hindsight we should have opted for it. The Colosseum is a bit confusing to navigate and not well signed; a guide would be better than the audio self-guide.

This is just a reseller, there is nothing as added value, they charge you double for buying the tickets in advance. If they did not buy this ticket I advance I would have been able to buy it from the official site. This is a scam going on in Italy with all entry tickets to museums. Some tour operators buy them in advance so they are not available for you, and then the charge you extra and deliver them yo you on a spot close the the actual venue. In our case we bought tickets for 14:00 to The coliseum, palatine and roman forum. They where given to us at 13;55, but the time slot was 13:50. Other participants had other time slots. We were then told we had only until 16:30 to finish everything. We rushed through everything. It was not a nice experience.
The only solution is to plan in advance....or that Italian authorities end this scam of resellers some how, so you can buy a ticket to a museum with two or three days in advance like anywhere in the world....

This tour does all it says but is essentially a scam. We were charged €112 (X2) in order to pick up the €36 tickets at the Arch of Constantine.

The "tour guide" just met us and gave us the tickets without any other added value.

Just buy the tickets yourself when you get there and save yourself €50 per individual.

Dear Customer, we are deeply surprised to read your negative review because it is the first time that we encounter a totally new dynamic that does not belong to our organization. We have verified the product you have purchased and the added value consists precisely in the fact that you had booked a tour "express 1-hour guided tour", this means having included a licensed tour guide in English for 1 hour inside the monument-the added value.. Checking with our tour guide who greeted you at the meeting point to provide you with the booked service, she reported that you preferred to have only the entry tickets and to visit the monument on your own. The added value you are referring of was missing because it was denied by you, therefore, we are sorry to read that our service is a scam, I would say it is very offensive.. Our customers are very satisfied with the service you have booked. However, for us is very important to listen to your version so please contact us at +393313586107 or info@ancientandrecent.com.. Was perfect for the end of the day for a self-guided tour. We went at our own pace to see the colosseum, Palantine Hill and the Forum. The tour operator was on time and very communicative about the time change. I would pick first thing in the morning because it was so hot late in the afternoon. This was a skip the line ticket which was awesome!

If you are looking to save time to get a queue jump and make it a more time efficient stay in Rome, DO NOT book through Trip Advisor.
We looked at a number of options, booking 4 weeks in advance (would recommend more if you know your travel dates) and given the amount out there, we went with Trip Advisor, ironically, thinking they would be the most reputable and reliable…

So, prior to getting to Rome, all was good, emails confirming booking and just to collect tickets at the Arch of Constantine… however… it turns out there is no one to meet at the Arch of Constantine! However, no one thought it might be prudent enough to let me know they had no intention of been there for the ticket collection and after 45 minutes of walking around the Colosseum trying to find where their non existent ticket office might be - only to realise there is nothing at all connected anywhere near the Colosseum with the company they pass this on to, alongside trying to ring their help line for over an hour but getting your call disconnected after 5 rings, however, after nearly an hour, I did eventually get through to some one on the phone.

After been told to message them via What’s App, they said they would try and send a pdf of the tickets, eventually they did, however, in total, after waiting over 2 hours for this whole process it is absolutely pointless thinking you will be able to turn up and access the grounds of Palantine Hill, The Roman Forum and the Colosseum straight away.

It really is truly shocking customer service, how they think it’s acceptable to leave the customer doing the chasing is an absolute disgrace. The company, clearly, after speaking to them, had absolutely no intention of been where I was told to meet them but had no decency or organisation to actually inform me of this. Travelling with a family of 4, this categorically creates stress that you can do without! Given they had the tickets, I would question the ineptitude of the organisation as to why the tickets were not actually emailed out beforehand and in doing so, prevent such a logistical car crash.

Ironically, whilst I was searching for the phantom ticket booth, my wife waited in the queue and upon finally speaking with someone from the Trip Advisor/Ticket company, left the queue, but the people she was next to in line, actually made it in before us!

So, bottom line, go straight to the CoopCulture website (These are the only company that provide tickets for the tour and all other subsidiary companies get them from them) order from there and you can go to the front of that queue to a real ticket office and collect real tickets from real people… it will save you a lot of time and stress, this is certainly not the way to go!

Dear customer, thank you for your comment. we are sorry for your negative experience. our staff makes the meeting point between the colosseum and the arch of costantine, waving a black flag, every day. every day we welcome over 200 people, who manage to find the flag(as it is the highest in the square). On his own day many other people managed to enter the archaeological park with ease, skipping the long line at the entrance. The staff always adheres to the scheduled meeting point times, as evidenced by lecentinia of people we welcome every day. We always recommend that people read very carefully the instructions for arriving at the meeting point to receive their paper tickets. at the end of the meeting the staff is dedicated to the customers who did not show up on time, trying to help them as much as possible so that they do not miss the visit in the archaeological park, calling the phone numbers left, or writing e-mails in case the phone number is not available .We are the only ones to provide this service! we still recommend punctuality as tickets have a deadline that must be respected.

Don’t book through this agency. I purchased VIP tickets, however received emails and texts from them stating they over booked and needed to downgrade me or rearrange my booking to an inconvenient time. They said after downgrading I’d receive 30% back each ticket as a refund but I’m still yet to see it! Avoid at all costs.

As it says.. this is a skip the line ticket so pretty straightforward. Make sure you are there promptly and find the guide who gives you the tickets. They will give you instructions on how to enter and then you can enter at your time. The coliseum is strict so you won’t get in earlier. We had a 4pm skip the line time purchased with a 4:20 entrance and you can only enter 15 minutes before the time on your ticket.

Look for the black flag next to the Arch

Booked a tour with them to see the coliseum. Paid for the tour and received a ticket and confirmation. 3 days before the tour they texted me on WhatsApp demanding that I change my tour time from 10am to 12:15pm. I explained to them that I have my father who is 70 years old and my children with me and we will not be able to tolerate the mid day heat, hence the reason for booking an earlier tour. Furthermore, we had other reservations later in the day that were not cancelable. I was very polite and let them know that we have saved up for a long time to visit Rome and have very few days to see everything. The supposed “supervisor” did not sympathize or care and while I was speaking with my family and trying to figure out how we can modify our plans he sent us a message notifying us that he already canceled our reservation. My 10 and 12 year old kids were devastated and we had to scramble to find another tour/ticket which by the way cost us almost double the original amount because we are so close to our travel dates and it is the busy season. They have a strict cancelation policy where they will charge you if you try to cancel, yet, they can cancel at will. Save yourself some hassle and time and make sure you don’t do business with these people. All they care about is their bottom line and profits. Their website states that customer service is their number one priority yet they proved that is not the case.

Dear Reviewer, False reviews like this can severely damage our business, which is unfair given the efforts we made to accommodate your situation. As we explained in our private chat, due to technical issues, we unfortunately had to reschedule your booking by two hours. We did not force you to accept this new timing if it was unsuitable for you, and we fully understood your family difficulties. This is why we offered a full refund if you were unable to attend at the new time. You initially agreed to this solution, but then you began requesting both the refund and the tickets for the 12:00 slot, despite your concerns about your father's age. It seems that your concern about your father's health vanished when you demand free tickets.. We did everything possible to find a solution for you. Additionally, our cancellation policy is clearly explained before every booking. There's no need to "specify" that it's strict; our clients can read it for themselves and make their own decisions. We hope this clarifies the situation. Best regards
