About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- RonY8600 contributionsHighly recommendedI was initially apprehensive, but after the tour totally satisfied. The tour was with What a Life Tours and our guide was Eugene , who provided a superb service. His service was excellent providing all the information needed with some humour thrown in, very entertaining.Although you might pay a little extra for the guided tour it is totally worth it to avoid the queues and receive priority accessWritten August 10, 2024
- Red-Barchetta20110 contributionsGreat Tour a lot of funOverall we had a good time with the tour. Our guide was nice and knowledge. The advantage to a skip your line tour is you get a guide who knows the museum and Sistine chapel and provides a good overview and explanation. We did the 10 am tour and non tour line was crowded and long time to get in we got in easily in our time slot. One thing to remember bring your official ID a passport is best as they do check when you first get in. also they do metal detector screening and depending on size and what is in it if you have a backpack you may need to store in locker and go back to get it. We traveled light and only purse and small cross bag. Because of crowds they do make adjustment to the flow through the museum. Our guide took us to areas that were little less crowded like where they display to official cars and she made sure she kept pace to get to the chapel. Walking though the museum is pretty amazing even before you get to Sistine Chapel. I found some of the art work and sculptures even more interesting the Chapel. The Sistine chapel is definitely crowded and no pictures allowed. You don’t get to stay too long but still worth it. Because we are with tour group go out a different exit which lets go get into St. Peters Basilica with having to go back wait in the main line. By noon there was easily a 2 to 3 hour wait to get from the main square. We went straight in and took like 5 minutes from the chapel. That alone is worth it. The Basilica is also amazing and you can stay there are long as you want. The guide showed us some area so the church and explained some key feature and her time was done. We were stayed to walk around and enjoy the church. For the convenience of the not waiting as long in line and ability to get to the church from Chapel made it worth it. Overall would recommend to do the tour.Written June 18, 2024
- Explorer7826770 contributionsInteresting, but extremely crowded. With 25,000 visitors a day, we were prodded along. Our Italian guide spoke English, but was hard to understand. She left our group of 11 ten minutes before we were instructed as a group to gather.Written August 26, 2023
- D5243TLmartins0 contributionsDon’t get what you pay for with this companyThis tour did not deliver any of what they advertised , instead of skip the queue we waited an hour and half in the security line just to get in inside. Then just before the cistine chapel the guide left us and said after the chapel turn right to go into the basilica. When we got to this point security would not let us enter without a guide. We spent a crazy amount of time arguing with security. Other groups would not take us as it appeared they had to pay per person. This was a con by our guides. When we went to their office they said the basilica was free so they could not even refund a portion. This still doesn’t stop them advertising the basilica in their program. So we missed the basilica as did others in our group that we meet later. Buyers be ware this is a bad company to take a tour with if you use them you will sign up for disappointment and a scare on your holiday. Just thinking of my day in the Vatican museum now makes me angry not the holiday memories I wantedWritten August 19, 2023
- 58nellyc0 contributionsTerribleI was cursed with rain & late arrival to claim my ticket at 10am, 30 minutes passed my appointed slot. I was waiting for about an hour for a taxi & then traffic for an additional 45 minutes I was very apologetic when I arrived & was berated by the person at the counter that I lost my $. He yelled in Hindi to his colleagues & demanded I talk to his manager. The manager said I'd have to pay an additional 20 Euro for 11:30am I was very displeased by the manner these guys took in dealing with their patrons. I understand that it's sold out most days, but they didn't have to be do disrespectful. I told them I was going to contact trip advisor & that was when the manager decided to assist me & walk me in. I am appreciative for him, but the initial rude man can learn to be decent to people.Written March 28, 2023
