Our guide was from Pompeii itself and an archaeologist (Antonella...Anastasia... Eek, I can't remember her name!). She was so enthusiastic about the site and her energy really brought the huge amount of knowledge she shared with us to life. She weaved us expertly around the *many* other visitors and groups. The 2 hours were a whistle-stop overview of the most interesting sites. We spent a further 5 hours exploring by ourselves! Don't miss the white house for the best views of the site from up high!

A light hearted and fast paced overview of the site. Lello is fun, passionate and very knowledgeable about this amazing site. He makes it personal by inviting you to his "family" Great for the layman, probably not for the serious archaeologist. Although I'm sure Lello could fill several days for a enthusiast. Highly recommended.

Italo was the most brilliant tour guide. He was soo enthusiastic and passionate explaining how Herculaneum and Pompeii were at different distances to Versuvius, therefore they were killed in different ways. How it was a trading place and then a city. There were lots of tiny takeaway shops and giant rich houses. Beautiful Frescoes, mosaics, gladiator working out areas, theatre and amphitheatre to keep everyone entertained. A court, pillars everywhere in the main square. Rugged sloping streets to wash off the animal dung and smooth pedestrian streets for humans. Lots of large fountains. Seeing the human body plaster casts was really quite guesome as they were trying to dig out of the ash. Before Versuvius erupted; I really felt I knew what is was like to live there as Italo was sooo descriptive. As I say, he really was a brilliant guide and I can remember everything even the wood on the rooves that had disintegrated causing the roof to collapse, (as he quizzed me about that!!) We both felt very lucky to have him as our guide...thank you Italo...it really was the best thing we ever did on our trip!!

Everything about this tour and Lello & Co. was flawless. We got in quickly in spite of the busy, busy tourist season. Our guide (I believe his name was Lello of Lello & Co.?), was extremely knowledgeable and also had a very entertaining sense of humor which kept everyone's attention. There are so many parts of the Pompeii site to see, and me and my husband believe he chose the most important ones for our group to learn about. We highly recommend this tour and really enjoyed the ruins, our guide, and the experience.

Leonardo absolutely was incredible! His archeological background and his enthusiasm over what he was describing made the ancient city of Pompei come alive for us! We almost canceled because of the heat, but are so glad we went ahead with the tour as it was one of the highlights of our 10 days in Italy.

This was an amazing guided tour! As an archeologist, our guide was extremely informative...giving us a lot of "hows" and "whys" to what we were seeing. Guides can make or break a tour and we were extremely grateful for ours!!
