- sararshaw0 contributionsA great day at the Colosseum, Roman Forum, & Palatine Hill! The colosseum was a breathtaking experience. We had the opportunity to go out on to the arena floor, all while receiving nonstop information regarding the history of Roman emperors and the arena itself. Our guide was very informative and a wealth of knowledge. She gave us plenty of time to get photos and spent extra time with us in the Roman Forum to go over important landmarks which we appreciated!Written March 17, 2025
- tomhtraveling0 contributionsWondering around ancient RomaMarcello was a fantastic guide. Showed us so much and explained about everything and had extra little stories to tell as we went. We really enjoyed it.Written March 17, 2025

The only negative was sometimes she would go too fast.Written March 16, 2025

- 301danijelaa0 contributionsBest Tour Guide MariaAn unforgettable experience. My teenager enjoyed the Colosseum tour. Maria managed to perfectly portray the history of Rome. My recommendationWritten March 16, 2025
- MariaH50490 contributionsLove the sights not so much the headsetsNot my first time doing this excursion but new for my daughter as it was her first time in Rome. I think the guides need to add a bit more humour into their talk/information as it tends to drag on.Written March 16, 2025
- Mark S0 contributionsSkip e line insteadFirst, the "floor" is not the very bottom, it's the top of the bottom. Our guide spent way too much time talking about everything but the history of what we were seeing, made for a very long 3 hrs. IMO, just get a skip the line ticket and enjoy at your own pace. That said, everything here is a wow.Written March 15, 2025

We arrived in Rome just a couple of hours before this tour started at 5.30. I got a Whatsapp message from the company with the meeting point and they also phoned to let me know the meeting point as I hadn't seen the message.
Our guide was Ani and we were a group of about 10. She was very knowledgeable and friendly and the tour was really relaxed despite Rome being very busy. We set off late as there was a problem with the booking for a couple of party but she resolved it and was obviously in no rush to finish.
I would highly recommend this tour to get your bearings and see some great sites. It's one thing looking and admiring something but another to understand the history of it and some of the hidden features that you would never know to look for.
Great tour, thanks Ani.

No seriously, I tried to persuade Angela to come with us to Venice after her tour of the Roman Forum (public) and nighttime in Rome (private). She was that knowledgeable and personable. And no tour after hers lived up to what we got from hers.
She was very perceptive about what types of information we wanted, and how much information we wanted. That's key, because some guides can drone on and on about their favorite thing, not leaving time for other stuff you might have wanted to know. She based her tour completely on our wants, even as a six-person group to start. That's when we immediately jumped at the chance to book her (very affordable) private tour of other parts of the city that evening.
She took us to all sorts of nooks and crannies that you don't see on the typical tours that evening. Of course we saw the Pantheon and the Trevi Fountain, but she also instinctively knew we wanted off-beat stuff like great views, insider tips for where to eat, all kinds of sights we wouldn't have seen on our own, even with the help of Lonely Planet research. She also gave us fantastic advice for the next day, what was worth seeing and what to skip. So in a way we really did take her with us and she guided us the next day without being there.
Some of the best money we spent on our Europe trip was this two-hour private tour with Angela.
