Excellent food tour in interesting area
Our guide Daniele gave us an interesting street view of traditional dishes & neighborhood eateries. Highly recommend for an off the beaten track look at Rome. Loved the gelato ending!

Daniel, the guide, was very personable and knowledgeable of the food, history, traditions, locations...everything. Great introduction to the food and history our 2nd day in Rome! Fun to meet people from other countries that were in our group, for a different perspective. HIGHLY recommend. Walking was doable and the area is beautiful and vibrant at night! we returned to some of the locations on our return trip to Rome. so fun!!! thank you!!!

When in Rome, eat in Trastevere!!!
We had a delightful and delicious 2-mile, 4- hour, 8-course Bites of Rome Tour with our charming host Daniele. He was knowledgable and personable as he led our tour of four people on a gastronomic and historic journey through one of Rome's most popular neighborhood's charming shops and eclectic restaurants. From the biscotti and cheese/prosciutto plate to the rice balls and Roman-style pizza to the three unique toppings on our pasta with local wine, we enjoyed each stop. Just when we thought it could not get better, we had fresh fruit gelato with intense and pure flavors. If you really want to experience Rome, book a food tour!

    Delectable!
Trastevere, to me is the best of Rome with its quaint streets, and foods of every kind. Daniele, our guide, was amazing and so very knowledgable about the food, the history - all of it. Good natured and good humored, every place we visited had a special little story behind each stop. From the bakery to the cheese and meat shop to the suppli to the chicory/cod morritza (?) to the carbonara with cardito vino and then ending with true gelato - wow! So satisfying! Thank you Daniele!

    The best tour!
Danielle our guide was the best! His knowledge of local area history was extensive and obviously a personal passion for him. We were lucky to be the only two on the tour so it was very personal. Food was delightful and we learnt so much about Roman cuisine.

    Immensely enjoyable food tour
My husband & I enjoyed the food tour immensely (despite the unusually rainy weather).😊 Our guide Daniel was very informative & entertaining and quite considerate of people's diet restrictions. My husband and I liked the order of the shops we visited & the portion sizes offered. If we had to choose a favorite, it would be Eggs & Antica Caciara. But everything we tasted was delicious I highly recommend this tour!

    Great experience!
On the 20th of May my husband and I went on a food walking tour through Trastevere. Our guide was Daniele and he was excellent! Very personable and very knowledgeable not only about the foods we were tasting, but Rome in general. Each place we stopped was better than the last. Overall a very delightful experience!

    Amazing Food Tour!!
Daniele is an exceptional tour guide, he speaks fluent English and is extremely personable. All of the stops along the tour featured delicious authentic food and most of the restaurants were family owned for several generations. Daniele was very knowledgeable about the food and its cultural origins. He was also happy and able to answer our non-food related questions about the neighborhood we were touring. My absolute favorite was the carbonara!! This tour is not to be missed!

    History and food, great experience
Nicole led me and 3 others on a food tour in Trastevere, and it was so much more than just the food. She gave us a wonderful insight into the history of the foods we sampled, and the areas we walked. This was a very worthwhile tour. Nicole was perfect!

    Enjoying Trastevere
This is a definite must for food lovers looking for both the history of this area of Rome, as well as some of the places off the beaten path. My wife and I lucked out and were the only people on this tour. Our guide, Matteo, discussed the history of the Jewish Ghetto where we began, and then about Trastevere's history past and present. The spots he brought us to were long owned family businesses who paid attention to detail while being able to still adjust to the times. We had great discussions with him as we walked, and learned not only about Trastevere, but about his life as a Roman, his American girlfriend, and his ambitions and transition from journalist to guide. This was his first solo tour, but it did not seem like that to us at all! We hope to keep in touch with him in the future just to catch up. We sampled awesome Brutti ma Buoni (Ugly but Good) cookies at Innocenti, a variety of meats and cheeses at Antica Caciara and in the farmer's market, Carbonara (with guanciale) the way it should be at Eggs for lunch, and then topped it off with authentic gelato at Fior di Luna (and learned that authentic gelato colors should match the ingredients, not be become bright neon colors due to food colorings and additives, so beware!). If you have the half day to spare in Rome, definitely partake in this tour, it is so worth it!
