          Nice family experience
Great tour guide. Picked us up at the apartment we were staying at. Went right to the front of the line. Very helpful. We did not see much of the museum as our time was limited and too much to fit in for 3 hours. We made the Sistine Chapel before the crowds arrived and was able to see St. Peter’s basilica. At the basilica there is a ton of renovation to get ready for the jubilee next year. So the over experience was a little muted. But in the 3 hours that we had with our guide, she was excellent and very engaged with our kids.

The best tour guide in rome
Rosalba Cilione was excellent her knowledge and passion for st. paul’s history and the history of how it relates to rome and christianity was superb. We couldn’t have asked for a better tour guide she was very attentive , very personalized and has a passion for what she does. We have been on several tours here and this was one of our best experiences. We want to request rosalba next time we visit rome for more private tours when we have more time here but from what i experienced absolutely request her and book her you won’t be disappointed.

          Well worth the money!
This experience was well worth the money in our opinion. Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and also knew how to get us through the museum in a way that would allow us to see everything before the insane crowds of tourists rolled in. We learned so much about the history of the Vatican and the art work. If you aren’t able to see the Vatican first thing in the morning, it’s very difficult to appreciate the magnitude of the space and everything it contains. I highly recommend this tour, especially if you only plan to see the Vatican once. You won’t be disappointed!

Great tours but some problems with the back office
We booked two tours with them, the Early Entry Sistine Express and the Coliseum private tour with hotel pickup/dropoff with arena access. Several months before the tour, they informed us that there would be no more early access tours for the Sistine Chapel, and that they would be increasing the tour time would be extended by 30 minutes at no extra cost to compensate. However the day before the tour, someone else contacts me on their official WhatsApp account and says I have to contact Viator to "fix" my tour and get on the Sistine early morning express tour instead (which is the equivalent tour offered now, without early entry). So I call Viator (international call while in Italy) and they tell me that the Sistine Express tour is over 50% more expensive that what I had originally paid (something like US$900 vs US$600 for 3 people). I ask them about this on WhatsApp, and am now told that I will have to pay the extra ~$300. Obviously I am not very happy with this and tell them that this is quite ridiculous after promising that the tour price would still be the same, and eventually they relent and just conduct my tour at the original price, but not after I had spent over an hour on my vacation dealing with this nonsense. Screenshots of my conversation with them telling me the price would be the same, and then later telling me the price has increased are attached. Anyway, that's why the rating is not 5. The tours themselves were fantastic. Both guides for the Vatican and Coliseum were great and informative. For the Vatican we explored the museums, the Sistine, and St Peter's Basilica, and had a good amount of time on the private tour to see it all. For the Coliseum we visited the arena and the Roman Forum and they were both great tours.

          Fantastic tour with Marta
My wife and I did the Vatican Museum early morning tour with Marta in the high season at the end of June. She spoke fantastic English and was very accommodating and made us feel comfortable. She took our time with us and had answers for any questions we had. She was very knowledgeable and made us feel like we were talking to a friend. I highly recommend Marta for her experience and personality!

Fabulous private tour of the Vatican museums, Sistine Chapel & St Peter's Basilica!
Excellent private tour of the Vatican with our guide Francesca!! The Vatican now restricts total visitor numbers so it is absolutely essential to book your visit ahead of time, especially during peak season where people without tickets are seen queuing for hours. This private early bird tour was a perfect way to guarantee entry without having to organise your own tickets, as well as be guided through the very confusing entrance and security lines, and then the museums themselves. We booked the hotel pickup option where the driver dropped us directly in front of the main entrance with our guide - I would highly recommend this optional paid extra as the streets and footpaths outside the Vatican are very chaotic with confused tourists! Francesca was extremely knowledgable and informative, spoke excellent English, and tailored the tour well to suit the interests of everyone in our family of four. She guided us seamlessly through the Vatican museums, the Sistine Chapel and St Peter's Basilica - we didn't actually appreciate just how well she did this until afterwards when we compared our visit with others who'd booked their own entry tickets online who explained to us that they had been unable to find certain exhibits due to the confusing museum layout, queued for an hour to get into the Sistine Chapel, and then ran out of time to climb the stairs of the Dome of St Peter's. The sheer scale, enormity and layout of the Vatican combined with the crowds is overwhelming, but Francesca made the experience extremely enjoyable and stress free, providing insight and background into all the amazing artworks we viewed, as well as the history behind the Vatican itself. This tour is hands-down the best way to get the most out of your visit and ensure you don't miss things you want to see! (Helpful hint - ensure your ticket name is exactly the same as that on your photo ID - some of the security police are sticklers for details and won't accept your ticket if it isn't an exact match!).

Incredible tour! Our guide was a wealth of knowledge. We did this tour a couple years ago and this time was even better! We learned so many new things and got to see things we had not seen before. I will do this tour every visit.

Great views from top street Steps to walk down/up are wide spiral so take care. Walking around gives good views. Did not go inside and its free. Lots of sites around the coliseum to see and they're free so good value. Worth visiting at night ⁹

          Excellent Tour & Guide
Irene was an excellent guide, providing us with a wealth of knowledge about Roman history, which we thoroughly enjoyed despite not being history enthusiasts. We valued the small group size and believed that the slightly higher cost was justified.

Mirta was a fabulous guide with a great sense of humour. We really enjoyed her company and listening to all of the information she provided. Our small group ( two other families) all got to know each other during the tour. Would highly recommend the small group option

The perfect guide and such a meaningful way to experience the Vatican treasures
Touring the Vatican with Azzurra was like experiencing it with an expert friend. She navigated us easily between the crowds and took time along the way to preview upcoming important pieces with photos on her iPad, so that we could fully focus on and experience the meaningful and historical treasures without having to worry about following and listening to a guide on a headset with a group of people. We loved her sense of humor and vast knowledge, the way she answered all our questions and seemed to pick up on what interested us most along the way. Being picked up at our hotel made it super easy and Azzurra’s lunch spot recommendation was the perfect way for us to share our experiences with each other afterwards. Highly, highly recommend Eyes of Rome and the fabulous Azzurra in particular!

          Request Maria DelVecchio
The Colosseum is such an amazing place. Maria made centuries old history come to life. There is so about those times in Ancient Rome much I’ve never known. Although my husband and I walk 4 miles a day, we wanted to conserve our steps so we could be active for the entire day, even after the tour. Maria was wonderful. She knew every nook and cranny and got us to all available elevators with no wait! You will learn so much in a fun way and be surprised by many things you never knew. We added hotel pickup and drop off. It was seemless, on time and definitely a smart move. Book this tour with full confidence and have a fun day!

My husband and I signed up for a tour at our hotel and it exceeded our expectations. Stefania was engaging, knowledgeable and helpful. We ended up doing two tours essentially back to back - one was ancient Rome, including the catacombs and other off the beaten path treasures. We went right into the Taste of Rome food and wine tour and it was fabulous. If, and hopefully when, we are in Rome again I would certainly do it again.

We had two private tours with Paola around Rome. Paola accommodated us and our young children (2yrs, 5yrs, 7yrs) perfectly. She made the discussions and explanations relevant to the children (& to us), everything was very interesting and tailored to our groups needs. She was fantastic and we couldn’t recommend her enough! Perfect Paola!!

Ciao carissimi!!! Touring with you was a great experience. Your kids (even the younger ones) are so nice. Their curiosity was palpable and I was very happy to share my knowledge with you and with them. I always appreciate when the youngest are exposed to the culture and in Rome there is so much to see and to experience. I hope you can come back very soon, as there are so many other sites where I would really love to lead you and your kids. Ciao, Paola

Our hotel arranged this private tour for us. Our guide was Rosie who was immensely knowledgeable about the history of Rome, Christianity, the artwork in the Vatican and Basilica and the architecture. She was also very kind, considerate and helpful to my friend who walks with a cane. We had previously visited the Vatican City, but this trip we learned so much more from Rosie. It was a wonderful day. We would definitely use this company again.

Our guide, Katie Farrar was an excellent guide on our golf cart tour of Rome's highlights with a concentration on Caravaggio's paintings. This was the best of the three tours we took in Rome (with 3 different companies) and we would highly recommend this company. I rarely give 5 star reviews but Katie provided such great insights into the obvious highlights (Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps) as well as places of special interest to us. Her background in art history enriched everything we saw and I cannot give her enough praise.

From the moment we met Maria she was vibrant, passionate and engaging. We knew we were on a winner!.
We are a family of four with two boys aged 11 and 9 years. We were only in Rome for 10 hours!!. Our base is Florence and we took the fast train to Rome and back in the day. Completely do-able, if you have a fantastic day like Maria. Our day ran like clockwork.
I booked this private day tour with less than a weeks notice for Eyes of Rome. I communicated back and forth in a few emails, discussing what our family would enjoy. Of course being in Rome for only 10 hours meant cramming in as much as possible. But it never seemed like a rush.
Our day started by meeting Maria at the train station 10 mins after arriving from Florence. We took a short taxi ride to Spanish Steps, then meandered for the next 2.5hrs through mostly pedestrian streets around to Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, 4 rivers statue etc etc.
We took a break at 12.30pm to have lunch at recommendations made by Maria which were awesome. Best gelato and pasta we have eaten. We walked to Vatican City by ourselves for our kids to step into the smallest country in the world. We are not religious by any means, so going any further inside was not necessary for us. We had already taken the kids to the Lourve on this trip and felt that was enough art museums. We wanted to send postcards from the V.C post office which we were able to do, took a few photos and then headed back to the Colosseum to meet Maria again at 3pm for our Colosseum and Roman Forum Tour.
We finished in a nice quiet, non touristy area close to the Roman Forum. We said goodbye to Maria around 6pm after eating great pizza (another recommendation of hers). We walked straight up one street to return to the train station in time for our train back to Florence.
We couldn't have asked for a better day.
Thank you Maria, only minutes after you left my boys said that they already miss you!. You did a great job of keeping them entertained all day. I hope you enjoyed your glass of wine at the end of the day!.

Please do make sure to let me know when you’re coming back! My best regards, Maria :)

I cannot say enough great things about the walking tour we had with Marco around Rome. He tailored the tour perfectly- in depth history that was easy for me (novice Roman history fan) and my husband (avid fan) to both enjoy. We had our 9 month old son with us and Marco made sure to keep us in the shade and adjusted the tour based on our son’s feed/wake cycles. Absolutely the best walking tour we have ever done- you will not be disappointed!

Such a great experience! I ate my way through Rome hitting all the popular spots. I tried a few slices of delicious traditional Rome-style pizza, various salamis at a meat shop, Italian cheeses at a great cheese shop, Italian wine, tiramisu at this place that has a bazillion types of tiramisu and ended with a coffee. While I enjoyed all of the food, I received verbal history and education on all of the food I ate. It was wonderful! Francesco even gave me a ride on his scooter through the beautiful cobblestone streets of Rome. Very memorable!

Caro Amico, thanks! This is one of my favourite tours and I have really enjoyed your company. I hope all the tastes of Italy will remain in your heart. Come and visit soon again! There are many other wines and cheeses you have to try :) Ciao, Francesco

We booked Eyes of Rome tour through our hotel. Our guide, Maria Linda, was excellent! Having traveled the world and used several tour services I found that Eyes of Rome provides amazing service and Maria Linda was so incredibly knowledgeable about the art and history of not only Rome but all of Italy.
