About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Danny F0 contributionsbooked 3 private tours and each one was better than the one beforeFound Local Aromas on tik tok and fell in love with the sisters. Booked the 30 min consultation - was super helpful. Booked 3 tour with them! And each one was great. 1st did olive oil tasting and private home cooked dinner. Got to explore at different party of Rome. Benny was so warm and welcoming. Learned so much about olive oils and are forever changed. Never buy in plastic. Worth spending the money on good oil. Plus learning the different spice levels. Was very impressed. Clara cooked a simple but perfectly delicious meal. Getting to sit in someone’s dinning room felt so warm and amazing. Felt like was at friends apt for dinner. This was the best part of our two weeks in Italy. 2nd did food tour with focus around the Jewish ghetto. Guide was warm and friendly. She knew so much and really provided a deep understanding of the history and melding of food with the times. Was great way to have private tour as it really was perfectly customized. More than enough food. Did it mid late afternoon. Instead of dinner we went back to a few of the shops our guid showed us and ended up having a picnic in bed after a long day walking Rome. 3rd was the aperitivo tour. Great way to experience the chill and fun daily activity. Was wonderful have a guide that was easy to talk to and understand local culture. Perfect evening to explore the local spots and feel like was out with a girlfriend. The mix of different pairings was nice to really understand what spirits and small bites like best. Can’t recommend this company more. Worth every penny.Written December 19, 2024
- U6212MUlaurena0 contributionsGreat food tour!My family and I just took the walking street food tour in Rome. Our tour guide was Deborah and she grew up around Rome. She was very knowledgeable not only on the different foods but also buildings and history. Food was amazing! Definitely recommend this tour :)Written September 28, 2024
- 182deandrab0 contributionsHistory, Culture, & FOOD!Sara narrated key historical highlights that contribute to the culture of the Roman people. She then showed us how this unique heritage is reflected in the food. And oh my! I don’t think I’ve tasted anything as amazing as the suppli. Along the way, she pointed out great local spots to try for a full meal. This tour is the right balance of walking and sampling - we left feeling satisfied, but not overstuffed. Highly recommend!Written September 28, 2024
- ahatcher11850 contributions4 Pastas with ValeriaOur tasting dinner with Valeria was absolutely wonderful! Leading up to our visit, we had been looking for a tour/activity focused on the 4 Roman pastas, and this experience could not have been more perfect. My wife, Valeria and I spent several hours at a restaurant in Trastevere sampling the 4 dishes (each tastier than the next) and getting to know one another. Valeria was friendly, charming, knowledgeable and a fantastic teacher. It was a phenomenal evening from start to finish, and I would (and will) highly recommend it to others!Written June 17, 2024
- RitainRome0 contributionsRoman Street Food Tour with MargheritaOur family did a Roman Street Food Tour with Margherita. She was so lovely and gave us great insight into the history of Roman street food. We had so many delicious dishes. Our favorite was Il Trapezzino and also the gelato was out of this world. I would definitely recommend using Local Aromas while in Rome!Written September 25, 2023

- 740evep0 contributionsBest Tour In RomeThe entire experience was beyond fantastic! The ladies were so wonderful and fun to spend the day with, not to mention my nephew and husband didn't want to leave the place! Between the views and the company (and great food and wine), we will always include an event with Local Aroma when we are in Italy!!!Written November 17, 2022
- jennbigioni0 contributionsAmazing experience for our family! One of our favourite experiences while in Rome was our food tour with Benny. We spent the evening with her on the day we arrived, and it was a great decision. What a perfect way to eat in Rome, while learning all about some of the best food. Benny is a wealth of knowledge, and by the end of the tour, she felt like a friend. Even recommended my sister-in-law and mother-in-law do this same tour when they arrived a few days later. Can't thank Benny enough for her time, and the fun we had. Grazie!Written September 15, 2022
- TWCCharlotte_NC0 contributionsFour Roman Pastas tourDid a private food tour in Trastevere in Rome (Four Roman Pastas) - we had a wonderful time, learned a lot about italian pastas and cooking, and couldn't say enough about Benny - she was a great person and guide!Written June 5, 2022
- MKTtravel1020270 contributionsUnique Private Tour in RomeWe tend to avoid tours whenever possible but with private craft beer and pizza tasting seemed too unique and interesting to pass on. We brought our 2 year old with us and the entire experience was perfect. Local Aromas was very flexible with finding a tour time that worked for us and the communications and meeting spot were perfect. We toured with Eric, who was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. He was great with our child and made sure we all had a great experience. Even making a bonus stop so our son could get gelato! The restaurants he picked served great pizza and beer and Eric helped you make selections and gave some helpful tips along the way. Also offered great information for other things we can do while in Rome. If you like pizza and beer, do not pass on this tour!Written May 26, 2022

- Crysrose290 contributionsLocal Aroma Love! This was an amazing experience. At first I was skeptical, especially being alone, however once I arrived inside the apartment, my mind was immediately put at ease. I was supposed to be cooking in a group of 8, with another couple and a family. However, with a last minute cancellation, there were only 3 of us, with our chef and host. We began with some Prosecco, and tiramisu in order to allow it to set. Then we moved on to ravioli and gnocchi. The views of the Vatican were amazing during the entire class, where we worked in the kitchen overseeing the dome. With such a small group, we were able to spread out, but regardless, both our host and chef were welcoming, answered lots of questions, and continued to wine and dine us. We sampled olive oils and salts in between cooking courses. When the final touches were being put on our plates, we were escorted into the dining room, over looking the sunset on the other side of the apartment to relax and enjoy more sparkling wine. The food was exquisite, and so filling! What a perfect end to my Italian journey. Thank you Local Aromas!Written July 16, 2020
- kbpvpf0 contributionsA Valentine's Day for the Books!I took the group cooking class on Valentine's Day, and I am so glad that I did. Carla and Giulia welcomed me with open arms, and were great hosts, chefs and photographers. I do not cook at home, but I loved the class, and the other two couples were lovely. The view from the location is absolutely exquisite. The cooking instruction is clear and easy, but the recipes are also sophisticated and delicious. After we cooked, we were led into a candlelit room to enjoy our dinner. Wine is served throughout. :-) By the time the class ended, I felt like I had 6 new friends. Carla and Giulia also recommended locations for a birthday party for my mother, and helped me find a cab to a party I had to attend after the class. If you want to do something authentic in Rome (even as a solo traveler), schedule this first, and plan everything else around this. Also, Local Aromas will send you restaurant recommendations and a recap of the recipes. Until next time!Written March 21, 2020
- carias3mcvj0 contributionsCooking Italian Dishes overlooking Vatican CityChef Christina and Bruno were fantastic. My wife and I loved this experience. It was fun, relaxing, and we really got to be involved in learning how to cook. Prosecco was served CG was delicious. The view of the dome of St Peters Basilica is breath taking. And then best of all, eating the meal after is delicious and served with a delicious bottle of red wine. This was a truly great experience . My wife and I did this on our honeymoon and truly enjoyed it.Written March 14, 2020

I reserved this tour from an advice of my Airbnb host. Campagna Amica market is a great way to get to know the local producers and if you like Italian cusine its a MUST to visit this place. I was absolutely lucky to be the only one in this tour, so i enjoyed this tour even more. I tasted so many delicious food and got to know so many new tastes. This tour was an absolute highlight of my roman holidays. When coming next time to Rome, i will definitely book something more from Local Aromas.
P.S. And as promised to my wonderful guide Benedetta, I completed my home work: I tried artichokes!! And both ways - Roman and Jewish. And i can say: i like Roman way more! :)

It was such a fun morning!!! And I am sooo very proud of you! You went of and tried the artichokes as I suggested! Brava!!! The market is amazing, and I am so happy I got to spoil you with all those tastings of products made with love from local producers.
It is a real treat. I am still surprised every time I go, and I regularly do my shopping there every weekend! I mean how can you go back to mass-produced food after you have tasted what the real stuff is!!! Right!!!
I do hope to have you back soon. There is still sooo much to taste!
A presto!

We, a group of six adults and young adults, spent a Sunday morning in January with our wonderful guide Benedetta from Local Aromas at the local farmers market by Circus Maximus. A very nice way to learn about how many of the fantastic Italian specialties are produced and how they are to be enjoyed. We can warmly recommend this tour.

Dear Ankapanko,
It was a great way to spend Sunday morning. I totally agree! It was a pleasure meeting you and your wonderful family. Sharing my passion for the deliciousness of Rome is something that always gives me so much joy! And that market is really something special!
The cheeses, the salami, the prosciutto.... all those tastings of such genuine products is a treat! I hope you enjoyed all the goodies you bought back!
I look forward to meeting you again soon!
GRAZIE
