Our experience with Mirko was great! He communicated with us where he was so we could find him with ease, he helped us with our bags to the vehicle, and got us to the hotel safe and sound where he helped us out of the vehicle. Great experience!

Driver arrived on time. Very pleasant trip into Rome. He then proceeded to take us all over the city to places we had no idea even existed giving us a brief history of everything. The highlights of our tour were of course the Vatican Museum and the Coliseum. We arrived on time for our skip the line tickets. We were then taken to a wonderful local restaurant for a wonderful lunch, and even a little shopping expedition. Our driver spoke excellent English, was very friendly. We will certainly use RPE on our next visit, I really cannot recommend them highly enough.

Our tour with Sal was amazing! He was very knowledgeable and helpful. We had a great time visiting all of the sights in Rome and with Sal's experience getting around the city, that made it so much more enjoyable and easy for our small private group. Highly recommend this tour group!

We were promptly greeted by our friendly and knowledgeable driver, Antonio. As a lifelong resident of Rome, his knowledge of the city and its history was invaluable. He knew the right amount of time at each location to maximize our enjoyment and not to become bored. We had many questions about the history of the city and he's was able to answer every one. We felt like we made a friend who shared his country with us.

I have to say I have experienced many excursions in all my years and Max gave us an outstanding day of history, professionalism, polite and prompt service. We were able to experience some of the highlights of Rome plus the Vatican but it is very obvious that as they say Rome wasn’t built in a day so lots more to see. Max suggested a pizza stop and that pizza was awesome and so reasonable. I can highly recommend Max first and then the tour. He made it very informative and enjoyable

Angelo arrived at the port early and we were on our way to seeing EVERYTHING on our list in Rome. He even took us to a wonderful local restaurant for lunch. Angelo was a perfect guide. Our tour guide Max picked us up right at the ship and was so knowledgeable about Rome. He made sure that we experienced the highlights. My husband had gotten injured getting off the tender in Greece (be careful) a few days earlier and required stitches on his foot. I was considering asking to cancel the tour the day before but I asked for accommodations and access to a wheelchair. Luca from Private Excursions arranged for a wheelchair responding to my frantic email, "Do not worry we will take care of everything". And they did! This allowed my husband to visit the Vatican, Sistine Chapel, and Trevi fountains. We could not use our tour of the inside of Colosseum given the climbing involved but Max got us so close that we could see the inside of this great structure. We arranged for a private tour inside the Vatican. The private tour guide knew every accessible route, lift, elevator and ramp which made this experience possible for us. I cried standing inside the Sistine Chapel - the beauty inspired a sense of awe. Max showed a great place for lunch managing to park in front. No small feat to find a spot in Rome! , I shopped in an outdoor market (fabulous truffle oils and the most delicious peaches I ever tasted) while Mark enjoyed a glass of wine before going back to the ship. I am indebted to the staff for making this once in a lifetime experience possible. Grazie mille!

This tour was a wonderful way to end our time in Rome. Our driver and guide, Salvatore was so kind and accommodating. My mother in law has mobility issues and brought a portable wheelchair. He ensured she was comfortable at all times and tailored the tour to her needs. He is extremely knowledgeable and we appreciated the amount of history he provided and in such an enthusiastic way. For the Vatican we choose to have a private guide and I’m so glad we did. Our guide Felvio was wonderful and made the tour so special for my mother in law. She was able make confession in the Sistine chapel and for sure was a surprise and highlight. I highly recommend this tour company.

I was so glad to have found Rome Private Excursions. They were fast with their inquiry responses and communicated very frequently to confirm my tour. Working with Luca and Natalia made my reservations less anxious. We only have one day in Rome after our cruise. And i know the Rome is 90 minutes from Civatavechia port. So, I picked the private driver package where they will pick us up Civitavechia port after our cruise and take us on a Rome "Antipasti" tour with a private guide to vatican city. It was super worth it. Our driver was Angelo "Big Angel" and he speaks good English. He took care of us very well including recommending coffee shops that was outstanding. As he is only a driver, he wasn't allowed to follow us into certain areas in Rome but he gave very clear instructions on what to see. What's amazing is how he explains all the details to us of different monuments, sites, and history. I learned a lot from him. Our vatican guide was Francesca and having a private guide is a must. I was nervous for the price but I can see why it's worth it. She was great explaining certain pieces and history, making the experience a lot memorable and relatable. Overall, it is a highly recommended company post cruise and when you only have one day in Rome.
