      Authentic experience
A fantastic way to experience a cooking class, dinner and views of the city all in one! Francesco’s experience as a chef, combined with his passion for cooking authentic pasta dishes makes this very special. We very much enjoyed Francesco’s hospitality, tips for cooking the perfect pasta and dining experience.

So much fun! And yummy way to visit Rome
This was the first cooking class I have done and I was unsure if I would have fun. It was great! Lovely setting, nice instruction and we got to eat the food on the most beautiful rooftop! Well worth the time and money.

      Amazing experience
I had a great time at the pasta making class with Francesco and Elena. Fresh tasty food and beautiful view. Everyone could participate in cooking, then we tasted the food on a terrace with some drinks

      Pasta Making Rooftop Experience !
Wow, I had such a wonderful time taking this pasta making class in Rome with Francesco ! Francesco and his partner welcomed a group of us into their home for a 3-hour experience. It started with prosecco and snacks on a beautiful rooftop terrace and then continued on another lovely terrace where we learned to make wonderful pastas and sauces which we were then served on the beautiful upper terrace. Francesco and his partner, who is also a chef, are real pros ! They gave us so much information about Italian cuisine and culture though really it felt like we were at a party with friends as much as being a cooking class. Their home is beautiful and these guys are so gifted in what they do as well as being warm and sincere people with a great sense of humor. If you want to have an enjoyable, authentic experience in Rome, look no further ! Hands down, this was one of the best things I did in Rome. The experience ends with a delicious meal, wonderful wines and the most enchanting setting. I was blown away by this experience and want to take another class with these two in the future ! Do yourself a favor and book with Francesco - you will be very glad you did !

Well worth it! Fun day of cooking.
We had an amazing time cooking and making pasta on the rooftop. A unique experience that was well worth it! Both chefs were very personable and taught us a lot as we were beginners. They even sent us photos and recipes after we completed the class.

      Fantastic experience
My husband and I attended this pasta making experience along with a group of others who we met for the first time that night. I can only say positive things about it. The setting was beautiful, the people fun, friendly and knowledgeable and the food we cooked was delicious. It was paired with several local wines and wonderful hospitality. We wholeheartedly recommend this experience if you’d like a Roman adventure and something a little different.

Highlight of our Trip to Rome!
I can’t stress enough how magical and absolutely perfect this experience was for us! Definitely the highlight of our trip to Rome and I can’t speak highly enough of the host chefs and their lovely home. Francesco and his partner are absolute pros-super knowledgeable and detail oriented. When we arrived at their home, they had Prosecco and appetizers beautifully laid out for us. They are both so warm and hospitable and we felt immediately at home! Outside of the terrace, they laid out our aprons and work stations. The class isn’t huge which meant we had individual attention throughout. Our group made ravioli and linguini and we learned all about pasta making techniques. It was fun working as a team, especially when rolling out the linguini! We had white wine also to drink while making the pasta. After cooking, we headed upstairs to another part of the roof where the table was beautifully set for lunch! I felt like I was at a Michelin star restaurant-the attention to detail was wonderful and the food was delicious! We ended enjoyed some local dessert tart as traditional Italian coffee after our meal. Of course, wine was on the table for the meal as well! We ended the day with going to the very top of the roof where you can enjoy 360 views for Rome! If you do one thing in Rome, book a cooking class with Rhomechef—it’s unique and you’ll remember it long after you return home.

Don't be intimidated the chefs make it super easy and fun!
This is one of the top 2 things we did in Rome. We arrived to wine and appetizers which helped set the relaxed mood. Then we made several different kids of pasta from scratch with sauces. There were 2 children in our group (not mine) and they were great with them making them feel included. They explained the whole process perfectly and emailed us the recipes afterwards and I really think i can do it at home on my own now. They explained what could go wrong and how to fix it but they made it all sounds so easy and with them it was! At the end we went up the their rooftop deck and ate our meal (with more wine, Limoncello, and desert included) it was very good with sauces made with fresh local ingredients. I highly recommend this even if your not a cook they make it so easy and so fun.

      A perfect experience
If you are staying in Rome and have some time aside from the obligatory sightseeing, I cannot recommend just how amazing and worthwhile this experience is. Our host Francesco was clearly a very experience and skilled chef with a lot of knowledge about food and also all things Rome. This meant there was interesting and humerous conversation throughout which made the whole experience comfortable and enjoyable. Franceso was extremely attentive and welcoming and was one of the main reasons why the experience was so excellent. The view from the apartment where the pasta making takes place is stunning. The lesson is so much fun, very informative and Francesco helps make pasta making seem easy. Afterwards we enjoyed wine, eating the food we ate and making friendly conversation whilst benefiting from the views of Rome. I think my partner and I were fortunate that it was just the two of us in the group which made it a more special experience for us. We both agreed that this was the best part of our visit to Rome.

BEST part of our trip, would HIGHLY recommend!
First of all, this was so much fun for our group. We had 5 women traveling from the US for an intense work trip and this was our final day together. When I found this experience online, I did my initial research and thought for the price, this would be a great team building experience. Getting there was a crazy taxi ride (like every Italian taxi ride) and the instructions for arrival were perfect. No confusion at all. When the elevator door opened, we were greeted by a lovely woman, Elena, with a big smile welcoming us into her home she presumably shares with her chef partner Francesco. So it was the 5 of us, a couple from LA and twin sisters in college on spring break. We started with gorgeous sausages, olives, cheese and bubbles (thats a great start!) and once everyone arrived, we were taken to the roof top deck for views of Rome. We were set to dine outside, but the weather was not cooperating. After a casual intro of the city view, we were invited back down to get our last bites of apps in, put our aprons on and get started. On a massive table laid wooden cutting boards, all the necessary tools for rolling dough and our ingredients carefully measured for each person. The man teaching us (sorry I forgot his name but he had dark hair/moustache/beard) is a classically trained chef that worked in Italy and the US. His humor was subtle and intelligent and charming. He gave us easy instructions for making the dough. I over worked mine a bit and any others that had mild challenges, he came to fix immediately. Once the dough was mixed we wrapped it in film and learned what kind of pastas we were making that day. He went into detail about gluten chains and what makes the dough do what it does. He set up a single gas burner and big skillet and invited one of the college girls to sauté the gianciale as he explained the ravioli filling (fresh asparagus tips and 2 kinds of ricotta). This part was pre-made by him and he let us all taste. He expertly sliced up steamed artichoke and explained about seasonality and what a fresh artichoke should look like. He invited another attendant to mix the artichoke with the ricotta and asparagus mix as we learned more about his career and what was coming next. When our dough was ready he showed how to roll it out and run it through the Imperial Pasta manual machine. He gave perfect instructions and I was excited to see if mine could match his. I overworked my dough a bit but my wife's came out perfect. He showed us how to fill & cut ravioli! Just like that, I saw what I was about to eat in the next hour and got super excited. He also showed some other pasta shapes. I asked for a few different examples and without skipping a beat, he busted out orrechiate, strotzapretti, penne and so many more! Next he brought out a Chitarra (dying to have one) to show us how to authentically cut spaghetti. Now this was FUN! We all had a blast doing this part. We hung the pasta up on a little stand and then after cleaning up, we went inside to enjoy lunch. We had each course with wine from a family vineyard and ended with a home made dessert of fruit crostata and espresso. I didn't want the flavors to end. The company, the atmosphere and the warm hospitality was so perfect, this review does not do it justice. I recommend you book this asap and bring all your friends. When I am back in Rome, I will for sure visit RHOME chef! Thank you!

      Incredible (and delicious) experience
Thank you for an incredible evening of learning, delicious food, and fun company! I booked a class for my husband for his birthday while on our honeymoon and couldn't recommend them highly enough. Francesco was friendly, patient, and clearly had a lot of passion about cooking. We picked up so many tips and suggestions around pasta making and have since come home to try them out and it's been a great skill to learn. Thank you so much for a wonderful evening. If you're considering booking this, I 100% encourage you to, the value and experience you will get is worth a lot more than a standard night in a restaurant.

An incredible evening spent making pasta with Francesco. A very knowledgable individual who made the pasta making process so simple and so enjoyable. A wealth of knowledge was brought to the table and an array of experience alongside the freshest ingredients ranging from vegetables to seafood. All accompanied by beautiful wines and a fantastic setting. A great atmosphere was made and a thoroughly enjoyable evening was had. Would absolutely recommend to anybody who is looking to learn a lot about making pasta whilst in Rome.

Thank you Charlie for your wonderful words and for the very special time together! I love when people show such kind of interest for details, curiosity and openness towards the great variety that our land and traditions have to offer and when they bring in their creativity like you did to harmonize all the ingredients into a unique event!:))

What an incredible experience. After arriving we were treated to an Aperitif and a nosh. When the group was assembled we stared our adventure into our culinary adventure. Everything was explained and hands on. It was not just a lecture and watching someone else do it. We laughed and learned. Then we were treated to the fruits of our labors. Good food, good wine and good conversation was then capped off with a beautiful wild cherry torte and fresh fruit and cream. Two weeks in Europe and it is my number one memory. Thank you to Gloria, Daniel and Chef Francesco! I can’t wait to come back and do it again !

I had a great time cooking pasta from scratch for the first time. Thanks to Francesco's experience the results were delicious (even though my orecchiette were not the most beautiful, I'll keep trying till I get better). Extra points for Francesco for offering us ingredients from local businesses and even veggies from his own garden!

Wouldn't recommend any young-ish women/girls to attend alone! The chef was normal enough in the group setting, but proceeded to corner me on my own as I left and insisted on "hanging out" together in the coming days (I'm in my mid 20s, he would have been definitely above 40....) and then found me on Instagram and messaged me constantly despite my saying no. It tainted the entire experience for me, and I wouldn't want anyone else to experience the same discomfort - I literally couldn't escape fast enough at the end of the session.
We made two nice pasta dishes, but it felt like the lesson took an eternity. Everything was so slow moving and there was no clear flow or direction to the pasta making or sauces. We began at 6pm, but didn't eat until 9pm - aside from a couple of bites of cheese and tomatoes at the very beginning. Also, you cook everything as a group so I didn't really feel like I learned any skills, and I was never sent recipes following the session so I'll never be able to recreate either dish - which makes it a very expensive session really, I'd have been much better off going to a nice dinner elsewhere in Rome.

uau... Thank you Emily for joining our class and for sharing your impressions. I am thankful for such an authentic and unusual review and for the time you have spent on so many colourful details. I take it as an opportunity to point out a few aspects of my class that you brought up, for those who read this thread to better understand what they can find by enrolling my Pasta Class. I have been running this kind of class for about 10 years so far beside my chef job and I have it listed as "Prepara la pasta su una terrazza panoramica" as well on airbnb, where I received hundreds of reviews. This is the first time that I have been accused of proposing a hangout for a coffe on a chat to an adult solo traveler. I happened last week to hang out with guests at the vinoforum the day after the class and I'm in contact with many guests I met throughout all these years and I became and still am friend to maybe more than a few of them. Be aware, by enrolling the class, that you will eventually meet people and make connections. All adults, minors accompanied by an adult. The day of the class you enrolled, we started half an hour later as other guests had delays with their taxis. The total duration is 3 hours including the dinner, but I am not used to kick my guests out when I see they are enjoying the convivio, nor I force anyone to stay. But I'm used to escort them to the door as they are leaving. Time flyes when having fun, it can seem ethernal when not at ease, which I'm sorry it was the way you felt, as you say. The recipes we make in my class are always new and unique, something of a quality that you will never find in any tourist trap and barely in fine dining restaurants. It has to be learned by heart, reproduced and passed over the same way. This is the challenge that I propose to my guests: making the best of the (best) ingredients found in farmers markets. Which is the way Italians grew a worldwide famous cuisine, much wider than the four recipes menu you can find in a roman trattoria. Using creativity and having fun. Under lead and supported with all technical tips and information about the ingredients and their history and about every step of the process you go through. Challenging and still as easy as breathing, if your mind is free from any kind of "me too" complex

My husband and I took the rooftop cooking class with 6 other tourists. Francesco was lovely and shared lots of tips and tricks with the group. The food was absolutely delicious, and it was fun sharing stories with each other as we ate our meal on the rooftop of Francesco's house. This was a great experience, I would highly recommend it for anyone who is keen to learn more about Italian cooking
