We toured Ostia yesterday with another couple and Sonia, the tour guide. Sonia is an excellent tour guide. As other reviewers noted her education credentials for this this tour are impressive. She patiently answered numerous questions from the group and gave detailed explanations about life in Ostia over several millennia. There are more than enough bathroom, shade and food breaks for this somewhat long but worthwhile tour. For us, Sonia is very nice person.

Sonia was excellent - so knowledgeable with good humour and great people skills. Would recommend this tour guide to you. The tour was magical.

A superb experience The Guide was great. A memorable tour. The group were very supportive and there was lots of discussion about the walk. The wander through the streets was enhanced by live music and wonderful smells emanating from the local restaurants.

We had a super guide called Martina and were very lucky as my sister and I were the only ones on the tour. Martina was very informative, explained lots of history and spoke good English - always an asset for us brits. It was a very hot day but it didn’t detract from her tour.

We had a private tour of Ostia Antica with Sonia and it was SUPERB! She was extremely knowledgeable, which made sense as she is working on her (second) masters with the thesis being on Ostia Antica! And on top of having so much to share with us, she had a delightful personality. It was a lot of walking, but we thoroughly enjoyed it. And Sonia was so sweet as to help us get transportation back to our hotel … which ended up being a bigger challenge than any of us expected. She was kind enough to stay with us to assure we got on the proper bus.

The stories were both spooky and historical. The communication with the spirits was a real highlight. The guide really made the stories come alive.

Our guide was very fun and did a great job of explaining the tour. We were able to see a lot and having it take place in the evening was perfect.

Clara was excellent. Knowledgeable, funny and informative. The walk was a good pace without being too challenging and covered many of the areas key points of interest including buildings you may not notice at first glance. Great tour.

Awesome fun. Me and a friend (21) were hesitant because it seemed more like a family thing. But had a great time and learnt some new stuff about buildings we’d been by many times

This tour is a great choice! Our guide, Clara, was fabulous - she was very nice, kind and informative. I loved hearing the stories from all the different locations. It's nice that it is later in the day too as the heat dissipates which makes it easier to walk around. The walk is also not too exhaustive, so anyone can participate. We heard a lot of unsual and interesting facts that other, more classic tours, would not cover. I definitely recommend to wrap up your day in the city. You should not skip out on this!

Bryan is a fantastic guide! He was well-informed, funny and keep the kids (and adults) engaged the whole time. The evening is a good time to tour the city, the crowds have waned and the temperature cooler, and the landmarks become illuminated in the golden glow of the setting sun. I recommend this tour to kick off your visit to Rome. It helped us get our bearings and a solid historical base for the days to come. Bryan adds wonderful local commentary and perspective.

We had an amazing tour! Louise was our guide and was perfect from beginning to end. She found our group of five quickly, and took us on an amazing adventure in the beautiful Roman moonlight. As a graduate student with a degree in history, she was incredibly knowledgeable, personable and enthusiastic. We went on many back steets that led us to beautiful vistas of historical sites from unique vantage points. I recommend her tour without reservation

Arianna was great! Super informative and so knowledgeable about Rome’s dark history. She really put on a show for us and went out of her way to make sure we enjoyed ourselves! Would definitely recommend.
