    Best Tour In Rome
The entire experience was beyond fantastic! The ladies were so wonderful and fun to spend the day with, not to mention my nephew and husband didn't want to leave the place! Between the views and the company (and great food and wine), we will always include an event with Local Aroma when we are in Italy!!!

    Unique Private Tour in Rome
We tend to avoid tours whenever possible but with private craft beer and pizza tasting seemed too unique and interesting to pass on. We brought our 2 year old with us and the entire experience was perfect. Local Aromas was very flexible with finding a tour time that worked for us and the communications and meeting spot were perfect. We toured with Eric, who was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. He was great with our child and made sure we all had a great experience. Even making a bonus stop so our son could get gelato! The restaurants he picked served great pizza and beer and Eric helped you make selections and gave some helpful tips along the way. Also offered great information for other things we can do while in Rome. If you like pizza and beer, do not pass on this tour!

    Local Aroma Love!
This was an amazing experience. At first I was skeptical, especially being alone, however once I arrived inside the apartment, my mind was immediately put at ease. I was supposed to be cooking in a group of 8, with another couple and a family. However, with a last minute cancellation, there were only 3 of us, with our chef and host. We began with some Prosecco, and tiramisu in order to allow it to set. Then we moved on to ravioli and gnocchi. The views of the Vatican were amazing during the entire class, where we worked in the kitchen overseeing the dome. With such a small group, we were able to spread out, but regardless, both our host and chef were welcoming, answered lots of questions, and continued to wine and dine us. We sampled olive oils and salts in between cooking courses. When the final touches were being put on our plates, we were escorted into the dining room, over looking the sunset on the other side of the apartment to relax and enjoy more sparkling wine. The food was exquisite, and so filling! What a perfect end to my Italian journey. Thank you Local Aromas!

A Valentine's Day for the Books!
I took the group cooking class on Valentine's Day, and I am so glad that I did. Carla and Giulia welcomed me with open arms, and were great hosts, chefs and photographers. I do not cook at home, but I loved the class, and the other two couples were lovely. The view from the location is absolutely exquisite. The cooking instruction is clear and easy, but the recipes are also sophisticated and delicious. After we cooked, we were led into a candlelit room to enjoy our dinner. Wine is served throughout. :-) By the time the class ended, I felt like I had 6 new friends. Carla and Giulia also recommended locations for a birthday party for my mother, and helped me find a cab to a party I had to attend after the class. If you want to do something authentic in Rome (even as a solo traveler), schedule this first, and plan everything else around this. Also, Local Aromas will send you restaurant recommendations and a recap of the recipes. Until next time!

Cooking Italian Dishes overlooking Vatican City
Chef Christina and Bruno were fantastic. My wife and I loved this experience. It was fun, relaxing, and we really got to be involved in learning how to cook. Prosecco was served CG was delicious. The view of the dome of St Peters Basilica is breath taking. And then best of all, eating the meal after is delicious and served with a delicious bottle of red wine. This was a truly great experience . My wife and I did this on our honeymoon and truly enjoyed it.

Best experience and memory of Rome
A great way to relax, learn, and enjoy the food of Rome: by taking a cooking class with Local Aromas! Our daughters bought this class as a Christmas gift, otherwise we would not have thought to do it on our own. We were so glad that we did- it was the highlight of our visit to Rome! When we arrived we were greeted with the happy, welcoming smiles of host Guila, and Chef Christina. We were then surprised that we were the only participants that evening: for the 5pm Roman Dinner- being a Monday night and in February- we were lucky. Guila is our going and friendly as the host matching perfectly with Christina’s more demure personality (and lesser English speaking skills.). They worked perfectly together. We made tiramisu, dough for the ravioli, filled the ravioli, learned how to make potato gnocchi, we drank Prosecco while cooking and enjoying the sunset view and then dined in a beautiful candlelit setting with a nighttime view of the city. Wonderful!

    AMAZING!!!!!
Words cannot describe this experience but I will do my best. My husband and I booked our first trip to Rome for our birthday and decided a cooking class would be a great way to kick off our vacation. This experience was way more than that. Cristina and Francesca were amazing. They were fun, warm and welcoming. The recipes are fantastic and I am so excited to remake everything for my family. We learned how to make ravioli, gnocchi and tiramisu. We drank prosecco with the most gorgeous view of the rooftops of Rome. And to top it off, they surprised us with a candlelit dining room with birthday decorations. Rome is absolutely breathtaking, but our experience with Local Aromas was THE BEST part of our trip. We cant wait to come back and try the other classes. Please dont pass this up if you are in Rome.

This was a highlight of our trip. Really fun experience. I just tried making the gnocchi at home last night that we made in our cooking class and it turned out great. Highly recommend.

A family who cooks together .. stays together ..
Our family of 5 had the most MEANINGFUL EXPERIENCE in Rome at a cooking class with Local aromas. Wow! .... and we had a blast!!!!! We made gnocchi, ravioli, & tiramisu, had too much good wine and great olive oil, AND THE TIME OF OUR LIVES bonding, laughing, & cooking. The food we ate was our own and it was FANTASTIC!!!! We had our own private cook and guide (Bruno) who were magical - in the way they taught us how to do everything to their absolutely amazing personalities. I just can’t stop RAVING about the experience and then there is the view - MAMMA MIA - the view! An exceptional experience for sure for my family. I have a 21 year old son, 17 year old son and 14 year old daughter. My middle child is special needs with autism and cerebral palsy, so this cooking my experience was not in his “usual” repertoire of what he would opt to do, but our cooking class was his favorite ! The cook and guide were able to help him so graciously, so patiently that he absolutely loved it. He also tried new flavors that night because he felt comfortable. As a mom of a special needs child, that is priceless!!! Thank you local aromas for the amazing experience!

    Exceeded expectations
A very special and enjoyable experience! As an absolute novice, I established myself as the worst chef fairly quickly but it didn’t stop me having fun! I’m writing this review a month later so have forgotten our two hosts names- however the gentleman was supportive and good humored while the lady was super experienced and passionate. Both worldly and well travelled, no language barriers here! We learnt about flavors and oils to season our dishes, discovered the history behind the dishes and learnt an important life skill: how to prepare tiramisu. Finally the experience was topped off with a memorable dinner with incredible Roman views. Highly recommended. Paul and Lauren

    Review of December class
My girlfriend and I took this class and had a wonderful evening with Chef Carla and Francesca. They were very thorough and clear with their instructions and were a joy to learn from. Drinking wine and making gnocchi and raviolis was perfecto! Chef Carla made the tiramisu with Pavesini biscuits rather than lady fingers since she felt the lady fingers are too sweet. We actually bought these biscuits in Rome and brought them back home. We made the tiramasu at home for Christmas Eve and it was a huge hit! We would highly recommend localaromas and will definitely take another class on our next trip.

Our family did a Roman Street Food Tour with Margherita. She was so lovely and gave us great insight into the history of Roman street food. We had so many delicious dishes. Our favorite was Il Trapezzino and also the gelato was out of this world. I would definitely recommend using Local Aromas while in Rome!

One of our favourite experiences while in Rome was our food tour with Benny. We spent the evening with her on the day we arrived, and it was a great decision. What a perfect way to eat in Rome, while learning all about some of the best food. Benny is a wealth of knowledge, and by the end of the tour, she felt like a friend. Even recommended my sister-in-law and mother-in-law do this same tour when they arrived a few days later.

Can't thank Benny enough for her time, and the fun we had. Grazie!

Ciao MikeE2746, WOW, you did do a great deal! ahhh... so you were the lucky one that had the class with the Guru herself!!! Our mom is recovering from a complicated foot/ankle surgery, so she has been out of the kitchen since the 25th March... she was in ecstasy! She has been dying to come back, as she LOVES teaching and cooking, so her private class with you was the highlight of her past 5 months!!! Well, now we expect magic from you. We want photos of the gnocchi, pizza, tagliatelle, tiramisu you will be making! Grazie, I have so happy that you like our recipe for teaching and storytelling about our culture and food!! A presto! Dear doublejschneider, I am curious to know which you went back for! I love them all, and would have a very hard time deciding!!! The supplì, the white pizza stuffed with that succulent mortadella...or was it that amazing gelato?? They are all too delicious! Whichever you chose was a winning choice. We are thrilled to read that you had such an amazing time on our tour with our super Eleonora! She is Roman, fun and has an insane passion for our local Food (That is a must when selecting our guides…I mean they need to have that twinkle in the eyes that comes directly from the heart when they talk about a supplì or a pizza with mortazza!!) Thank you for sharing! A presto Benedetta

Benny from Local Aromas tailored a wonderful tour to cater for the interests of my family (2 grandparents, 2 parents & 1 ten year old). Jasmine & Luca took us on a tour of Testaccio Market, where we could explore the old and the new. We spent some time in the education centre above the market learning about excavations of the ancient Roman market below. Then we visited some archaeological sites that are not open to the general public (my son felt like Indiana Jones)! We finished our amazing morning following Jasmine through the market where she procured delicious traditional street food for us to share. Our feast was complete with a glass of wine!

Dearest Storyteller563264, Having a 10 year old feel like Indiana Jones on one of our tours is not something that happens every day, and we are delighted that from now on, we can proudly add that to our list of experiences! We are very happy that we were able to set up such a unique private tour for you and your family. Having an archeologist of the caliber of Luca take you to visit sites that are not open to the public is something that we are thrilled to have organised for you. The excavations around the unique area of Testaccio are definitely worth a visit. And then you were with our super Jasmine. Her smile and enthusiasm that are contagious, not to mention that she knows that market by heart! All that deliciousness, those colours, the food and the wine. It is a wonderful place! Thank you for having taken the time to share your experience with other travellers. We really really appreciate it! A presto!!!
