About the operator

- Mike21310 contributionsNice Visit to Pompeii and Herculaneum with HighSpeed TrainOver all it was an excellent tour. High speed train is the way to go! The driver was outstanding and the guide was excellent and certainly knew Pompeii and Herculaneum very well. I had been to Pompeii before, so the inclusion of Herculaneum was a real draw. While it had some fascinating houses, if we had it to do over again, we would opt for a longer, in-depth visit to Pompeii. The audio headsets were a problem. With the pace of the tour and crowds of other visitors, we (and other members of our tour) had audio drop out and static too frequently. The earpiece is great to let you hear clearly, but when it ceases to work, it is a problem. The tour would be 5 out of 5 except for the audio issue.Written April 9, 2024
- lessmand0 contributionsso worth a visitstunning synagogue with a rich and incredibly interesting history !! absolutely go visit this beautiful shul for an exploration into jewish historyWritten December 18, 2023
- Vivi V0 contributionsWorths a visitWorths a visit as you can access both a small museum and a guided tour to the synagogue. There are guided tours in English and Italian every one hour per language, included in the price of the ticket. I think 11 euros for a ticket is too much but the personnel is very polite so ok 🤷🏼♀️Written September 8, 2023
- X6832CIthomasb0 contributionsBest Vatican TourWe did the private Vatican and cystine Chapel tour with Paolo. Beyond awesome and knowledgeable. Went into great detail and made sure we saw many highlights and saw items not on the regular tours. Truly cannot complement this tour enough. His knowledge the Vatican and history were unbelievable. Highly recommend for anybody wanting to see the Vatican and Sistine Chapel. Even when an extra mile to show us Saint Peter's Cathedral.Written August 24, 2023
- W5067HVrandyh0 contributionsPerfect way to visit Pompeii and Herculaneum while staying in Rome!Incredible experience visiting Pompeii and Herculaneum! Our archeologist guide Andrea was very knowledgeable, engaging, and clear in his explanations. We were very impressed with the staff of Askos tours, who made it easy for us to visit these sites while on a day-trip from Rome. They were amazing at tracking all of the travel and logistical details, especially since travelers were joining the tour by various means. Maria contacted us directly to ensure we knew of a change by the train company of our seat and carriage assignment. The travel was smooth, and the transfers in Naples were well organized. We thoroughly enjoyed the tour, and highly recommend Askos Tours!Written May 25, 2023

- chi-kat420 contributionsGreat Tour of PompeiiTook the Pompeii & Herculaneum tour from Rome on 4 November. The Pompeii portion was great with archeologist Alfredo. Unfortunately, Herculaneum portion was cancelled due to weather (really heavy rain unfortunately. Transportation was well coordinated with Francesco and customer service was very responsive to questions. Guess I will have to go back to see Herculaneum!Written November 16, 2022

- Companion5464860 contributionsVery personable and incredibly knowledgeable. Our family recently traveled to Italy, stopping first in Rome to see all the historical sites. Paulo Gardelli, Phd was our tour guide for the Vatican Museum, Sistine Chapel and Basilica. He was absolutely the best - giving us backgrounds on insights into all that we were seeing. He was engaging and gave us fun little "knowledge quizzes" to keep us all in the moment. We highly recommend you ask for him on your tours. We look forward to seeing him again!Written August 27, 2022
- ZornitzaM40 contributionsExclusive Pompei guide tour with real archiologist Paolo GardelliAn extremely pleasant and educational historical trip. Our guide Paolo took us on a magical time journey through history. He envoked curiousity, kept us involved with interesting questions and entertained us with historical stories. He managed to keep the attention to every one from small children trough my teen and the rest of us. We had fantastic time! It was like Indiana Jones movie without the scary part. I strongly recommend the tour.Written July 23, 2022
- TERENCE D0 contributionsHot day in PompeiiA group of six of us (from USA) toured Pompeii on a three hour tour along with about 12 additional guests and guided by tour guide/archeologist Paolo Gardelli. Paolo was informative, interesting and lively in his descriptions and insights into the history and excavation of Pompeii. I learned new information about the eruption of Vesuvius and its impact and devastation. The pace of the tour was respectful of the hot temperatures and the other guests and tours taking place. I would highly recommend Askos Tours and especially Paolo for the enjoyable experience!Written July 21, 2022
