About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- taniarP4521VW0 contributionsThe bestAmazing!! Antonio was great!!!! He gave us a nice history lesson and explained all the sites!!! Totally worth it!!!!!!Written August 11, 2024
- 739wanderlustw0 contributionsNOT a grand adventureI had the same experience as TOURIST- DU-JOUR who posted a review about this tour taken May 2, 2024. Everything reported was true — we paid a lot of money (over $700) for nothing but a seven hour hot car ride. Additionally, I submitted a refund request on May 9, 2024 at 12:15 pm EDT, and received an email declining the request for a refund on that same day at 1:53 pm EDT advising: “Unfortunately, at this time we are unable to offer a refund due to your tour was carried out regularly.” I mention the times of the emails, for it’s hardly enough time to check with the Italian operator contracted for the trip — and Italy is six hours ahead of us — no one would have been in their offices to discuss the situation. That tells me that little or no research was done with the provider in relation to my request for a refund. It is inexcusable that the tour did not happen as described on the Viator website and that our refund was declined. Buyer Beware!!! WANDERLUSTWritten June 5, 2024
- tourist-du-jour0 contributionsWorst experience ever!!! A very expensive lesson…The only thing we got that was stated in the description was transportation - and it was NOT in an air condition vehicle. We were supposed to have a live commentary during the ride from Naples to Alberobello. The only “commentary” was Mount Vesuvius being pointed out to us - once on the way there and once on the way back. Absolutely nothing else. The driver admitted that he didn’t know anything outside of Naples. He tried to talk us into switching from the Alberobello tour to a tour of Naples. No, thank you. It was a 3 1/2 hour ride each way. We only had two hours in Alberobello. No tour once we got there. The driver told us if we wanted a tour it would be an extra $120 per hour and we’d have to find our own guide. Note that the name of the tour is “Private Tour: The Trulli of Alberobello from Naples” (see description below ). All we got was a private transfer. For two of us, it cost over $700. During the drive when we asked the driver to turn on the air conditioning, he said it wasn’t working. This tour was booked through Viator. They are totally misrepresenting what is being provided. I don’t think we were expecting too much when we thought we would be learning the history of the houses and the area. For the price we paid, we thought we would be getting something special. We got a very expensive lesson. Buyer beware! TOUR DESCRIPTION Explore Trulli of Alberobello with a private guide on this architectural tour from Naples. Learn about this UNESCO World Heritage Site's special building construction techniques and walk through the small town with a dedicated guide. Snap photos of the limestone buildings, topped with conical roofs, and spend time shopping or trying local delicacies in the town center. Private round-trip transportation from your Naples hotel included.Written May 14, 2024
- 510timk0 contributionsWinery The BestThe tour of the winery was one of the highlights of the trip. The wine Somalia Matteo was fantastic, explained all the wines and how they were made in great detail. Food was Fantastic as well. Mount Vesuvius was ok but nothing special.Written September 14, 2023

- charleannew0 contributionsA lovely Day in Cuma, Pozzuoli and BaiaeThe Archeological sites at Cuma and Baiae rival Pompeii. The view of Ischia island from the temple of Apollo at Cuma was breathtakingly beautiful. My driver was very knowledgeable about the area and went out of his way to make this a wonderful day. My only regret is that I did not have time to eat before the tour started and was overly hungry by the time lunch break arrived in the afternoon. There are a lot of stairs to climb at both sites. Bring sunscreen.Written May 30, 2023
- 222sallyl0 contributionsDon't think! just book it you won't be disappointed.Communication from time of booking was professional with this company. We had the most amazing day with our guide Mauro. We were collected from our accommodation and whisked away to some of the most beautiful places in Italy, Sorrento, postiano and almafiI,. Mauro"s presence added a whole new level of appeal to areas that are already stunning, his knowledge, humour and kind and caring nature made the day extra special. His recommendation for a lunch stop at 'Costa Diva' was the kind of place dreams are made of, breath taking scenery, good food and an ambience made by wonderful owners/staff. I could write so much about this wonderful tour experience but I think if your looking just book and go you will not be dissapointed. 'Mauro siamo venuti da visitatori e partiamo da amici un grazie non mi sembra abbastanza'. Sally and KatieWritten April 29, 2023
- oma g0 contributionsUnexpectedly pleasant. Our driver was very knowledgeable, flexible, informative, cordial and pleasant. I asked about advise on other things not related to the trip and received valuable information that I, as a tourist would very much appreciate. Whenever we go back to Naples, I'll make sure to arrange with Mr. Bacchetta again.Written June 6, 2022

- Kimberlee W0 contributionsGreat tour with Antonio! We enjoyed our tour to Pompeii, Vesuvius and Bosco De Medici Winery. Antonio was very knowledgeable on the area and a safe driver. We started at Vesuvius, had the winery tour and lunch, and then finished with our time at Pompeii. I was very impressed with the winery - the tour is short, but the site is beautiful and the guide (David) was very informative. Recommend this tour.Written March 31, 2019

- dorry m0 contributionsDo it yourself Amalfi coastWe stayed in Sorrentto what a lovely little town really loved it here and lots to do from here . We booked ferry tickets and headed of first to Positano enjoying this gorgeous little village for a few hours then on to Amalfi for a swim great nice and relaxing and a good little beach easy to get too. Then it was of to Capri now this is much larger and you need to allow yourselves more time here as there is more to do also more tourists so longer waits in places but great for exploring . so that,s it just pay your ferry tickets and do some research and you,ll save yourself lots of money, dont fancy doing it on your own book a tour with 60 other people and enjoy your day . But its nice seeing everything from the water what ever you do.Written July 1, 2018
- 395RyanM0 contributionsEven better than we expected!! Loved the winery!Driver (Antonio) was there to greet us at the station when we arrived on the morning train from Rome. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and an excellent driver. The vehicle was a Mercedes minivan that would have comfortably held about 6 people plus the driver, although we were the only 2 on this particular day. Order of events wasn't 100% clear to us prior to the day, but it was first a drive to Positano, 1 hour to explore the streets there, then a shorter drive to Sorrento, another hour there, and finally a drive back to the Pompeii area. One of the BEST parts of the day was a bit unexpected: our lunch stop was at a gorgeous winery with a lovely restaurant near Pompeii. You could choose from 3 to 5 courses with paired wines in a serene outdoor garden among vines and lemon trees. One of our favorite meals during the week in Italy! The tour didn't advertise the winery (although it should!), so if this is of interest to you I'd ask for it. It's right near Pompeii with private parking, so I doubt your driver will object. Approximately 90 minutes for lunch, then about 2 hours inside the Pompeii ruins. We prepaid our Pompeii tickets online, but could have bought them onsite just as easily. There was no queue to buy tickets or enter the site. Of course one could easily spend an entire day just at Pompeii and not see everything, but for us 2 hours was about right. At the conclusion of the day, our driver dropped us back at the train station at 5:30. Plenty of time to get the 6pm train back to Rome. Highly recommend this company...it was one of our favorite days of the trip!Written April 30, 2018
