I don't usually leave reviews, but Ferdinando was such an outstanding tour guide that I'll make an exception. We first met him on the tour of the Vatican museums and Sistine Chapel. He gave brilliant insights into the different periods of art history. His knowledge of specific paintings and artistic backgrounds was remarkable. He answered every question thoroughly and even emailed me when he initially didnt have an answer. He also talked about food, football, modern Italian culture and archaeology. A brilliant tour brought to live by a passionate guide.

We found Ferdinandos tour so enjoyable that we met him the next day to tour the Coliseum, Forum and Palatine Hill. His archaelogical expertise provides a fascinating take on the preservation of ancient Rome. Ferdinando is extremely knowledgable, insightful, engaging and friendly. Booking with him means getting a top class tour with information that you cannot find anywhere else. I would highly recommend

This tour was the highlight of our trip in Rome. Ferdinando’s knowledge was broad and deep, and his enthusiasm for Roman history was contagious. His presentation style was engaging for our whole groups—-teens to seniors. We learned so very much—about the forum and colosseum and also about how to see them thru an archeological lens. Highly recommended. Worth every Euro!!

Such an amazing tour! The Colosseum really speaks for itself, and I was so lucky to experience the underground on a VIP tour with Ferdinando.
as well as being really great company, Ferdinando was the perfect host.
an archaeologist with lots of fascinating stories.
In addition to a "regular tour", Ferdinando also told me about the history of construction and reconstruction, and Italy's cultural approach to preserving sites like the Colosseum.

Truly amazing, and worth every cent!

Ferdinando was an excellent guide. He made the tour very engaging and interesting, even for our teen daughter. He provided time to enjoy the sights and take pictures as well, which we appreciated. There was a hiccup with having to wait in line instead of “skip the line”, but he made up for it with a great tour.

Ferdinando is the best guide for this tour. His background and education make him the most qualified to give historical and accurate information, while keeping it light and interesting. As a AAA travel agent, I book his tours and guided walks whenever I can for all my clients.

Ferdinando showed the forum to us with our 80 year old parents and our kids (11 and 7). He adapted his descriptions to both levels of knowledge and the kids were fascinated and intrigued. His English is without an accent. He delivers historical knowledge with an extra layer of archeological context due to his PhD and experience. He was patient with elderly difficulties in moving quickly. He also helped the kids find an actual piece of Roman mosaic on the path.

Ferdinando was a very informative guide and was great to have with us while exploring everything we did! We had a great time and learned so much that we would have no idea. He was able to tell us a lot more than just what was on the surface which was fantastic. We were a wild group and he was able to joke with us which was great! Thank you Ferdinando!

This was our first time to Rome and didn't know what tours around the Colosseum would be like, but after seeing many tours with big groups and no interaction, just a guide with a microphone, i'm glad we found Ferdinando. He said he only does small groups and it turned out my wife and I had a private tour. Which was good since my wife asks a lot of questions. He answered all with a smile. I have nothing to compare Ferdinando's knowledge to, but i can't believe the other tours were this informative. He is so knowledgeable about the building techniques and history, not only of the Colosseum and the Roman Empire, but the relationships of the people involved. Be prepared for a lot of information. It was a great tour.

We booked Ferdinando for our Colosseum tour after reading excellent reviews and he was fantastic. We had booked as part of a small group but the others didn’t turn up so we ended up with a private tour. Ferdinando speaks perfect English and is extremely personable and friendly. His knowledge of the Colosseum, Forum and Palatine Hill is second to none as he is an archaeologist who actually studied on the site he takes tours round!
We could not recommend Ferdinando highly enough.
