This tour was absolutely wonderful! My sister and I planned this for our first night in Rome saving us the trouble of deciding where to eat.
Despite the snow and sub 0 temperatures we embarked on our 4 hour tour meeting outside La Carbonara restaurant, greeted by our friendly guide Alma. She gave us a quick overview of the plan for the evening and off we went to our first stop.
I won’t go into detail about all the delicious foods you will try on this tour as it will ruin the surprise but in summary a selection of cured meats, cheeses, fried cod, pizza, pasta and gelato not forgetting the multiple different wines :).
Word of warning do not eat any food for at least 4/5 hours prior to this tour... no one in our group managed to finish all of their tasters and we finished up full to the brim!
The group size was wonderful 12 guests (including my sister and I) which worked well for us all getting to know each other throughout the course of the evening.

Alma is extremely knowledgeable, a wonderful tour guide and also now a great friend. We were lucky enough to experience a private tour of the Vatican and basilica with Alma the following day which was the icing on the cake for our city break!

This tour is definitely worth an evening of your time, you will taste amazing food and wine, meet some truly fabulous people you then be lucky enough to call friends and most importantly create some truly special memories in an incredible city!

The tour was awesome! Finding the location was super simple and the Campo di Fiori had plenty of things for us to look at and shop around while we waited (we arrived early so we could make sure we knew where we needed to be). We took a seat at the tables in front of La Carbonara. Marcello (I think I spelled it right :p) greeted us and chatted with us while more people showed up. Once we had everyone we split up onto two groups and started.

Our first stop was a great little place called Rimessa Roscioli for some cheese and wine samples. From there we went back to Campo Di Fiori and went to Filetti di Baccala for some meats and more wine. The truffle crusted meat was amazing!!! We then walked up the street to a wonderful little place that specialized in a limited menu and had fried Cod (which was amazing as well). From there we walked (beautiful walk at sunset FYI) to Ai Spaghettari for some amazing food. We sampled authentic carbonara pasta, ravioli and fried rice balls with meat. Marcello chatted with the entire table and answered questions about the area as well as customary Italian sayings and "to do's and not to do's" which followed up with hilarious conversations! While we were eating, he asked for some spices for the pasta and warned the table this wasn't your normal chili peppers and to be careful, but watched as we loaded up and we all laughed at each other with our facial expressions. After that we walked to a wonderful gelato shop. Marcello told us that we had to have something other than the standard chocolate and vanilla (if we really wanted to experience authentic and unique Rome gelato, try the exotic flavors). From there we departed, but the group as a whole had a wonderful time and our guide was amazing!

I'd recommend doing this on an empty stomach and wearing something comfortable on your feet. Marcello was a great guide, very informative and very personable.
