Best cooking class experience in Italy!
Highly recommend this cooking class! Claudia is a wonderful and very experienced chef and we had the best lunch with her and Bruno. It is really nice to be welcomed into their home and listen to all their stories. They grow everything in their garden, make their own wine, olive oil and are just really kind and lovely people to meet. We are already looking forward to the next time we visit Italy, so we can visit Claudia and Bruno again and learn to cook some amazing new recipes.

Grand Experience in Roman Countryside with Local Chef
This is an experience not to miss! Imagine stepping outside of the hustle and bustle of Rome, meeting good people, and experiencing genuine Italian meal prep from a person with valued experience. Our morning began with taking a local train out of Rome, being met with welcoming arms a half hour away at the small train stop, and then being driven to the chef’s personal home (Claudia & Bruno) beyond the suburbs in a country setting. Once at their home, we exchanged a bit of each other’s life experiences over cups of coffee, which transitioned into a discussion about the menu that would become a family lunch feast. Next came guided step-by-step preparations of notable Italian specialties. What would it be like to have a cooking class in Italy and not experience making pasta and all that goes with it? We were not disappointed! My wife and I loved being guided in making a variety of this Italian staple. First came the preparation. We gathered herbs growing in their yard for the sauces and then began kneading and rolling out pasta -- making it thin for cutting, stamping, and forming…. Voila! Noodles, ravioli, and linguini all started to take shape. This was a cooking class where you not only talked about food and the mechanics, but prepared each delicacy, which ultimately became the meal we all enjoyed! There is something so genuine about being in a person’s home and receiving hands-on guidance — step by step, guided down an authentic path that ended in a wonderfully rewarding lunch, sampling their homemade wine, with family around the table. We’d recommend this class to anyone who would enjoy stepping out of the intense mainstream and graciously being surrounded by wonderful people as preparation is made for an authentic meal that all enjoyed! Time flew by… we were surprised when the time came when we had to return to the little train station to board our return trip back to Rome.

Must do experience! Best meal we had in Italy!
I really wanted to learn how to make pasta while visiting Italy. I got all I wanted and more cooking with Claudia and Bruno! Claudia is the real deal. She started cooking as a child with her grandmother and went on to run her own restaurant in Rome. Now she and Bruno live in the countryside and have opened their home to guests like us! The travel by train was easy! The house is lovely and Claudia and Bruno are excellent hosts. When we arrived we had coffee and homemade cookies. We made 3 different types of pasta, a veggie side, and a meat dish! It was served alongside fresh bread and olive oil made from the olive trees on their property. In fact, a lot of the ingredients we used in the sauces came from their garden! The wine we had with lunch… you guessed it! Made from their own grapes. We tasted a lovely white and red! Bruno played the piano and sang while we cooked. He is a very talented player! I really felt like I was visiting my long lost Italian Zia and zio! This was the best meal we had in Italy! And we helped make it! When my husband and I returned home we were able to make homemade pasta for our kids!

One of our favorite Italian experiences
WOWWWWWW! My family and I had such an amazing time on this tour! It was absolutely perfect! Claudia and Bruno provided such a heartfelt and genuine experience it literally left my mother in tears of joy. Bruno picked us up from the train station and took us to their gorgeous home in the Roman countryside where he showed us his 60+ olive trees and small wine vineyard. Claudia welcomed us into their adorable countryside home and showed us around her garden where she grows a grocery store's variety of herbs and spices. She then taught us how to make ravioli and linguini/fettucine from scratch around her dining room table, and then moved us into the kitchen for fried/stuffed zucchini flower, fried sage, eggplant parmesan, vegetarian meatballs, traditional Roman stuffed bell peppers, and a mullberry sorbet with berries from their mullberry tree. We got to enjoy the fruits of our labor around their gorgeous outside dining room table underneath a veranda covered by grapes with homemade wine. Claudia was so friendly, patient (my parents don't cook much), and helpful with what to do. We were sad to leave when the time came, and Claudia was kind enough to send us detailed recipes on what we had made during dinner. It was such a wonderful experience, truly a high light in our tour to Rome. If you've been thinking about taking a cooking tour or wanting to learn to make pasta, stop looking - you've found the perfect way to do it.

Lunch in the Roman county side with fantastic hosts.
Fantastic day in Roman county side learning about past and meat dishes. Our hosts made sure we had all the important information on getting to the country side from Rome, and picked us up from the train station. We were welcomed into Bruno and Claudia’s home with cookies and coffee and given a tour of their beautiful gardens. We thoroughly enjoyed making stuffed pasta and sauces, and a variety of meats and appetizers while sampling our hosts own wine and olive oil. Bruno played piano and Claudia rolled pasta. Fantastic experience!

      A must when in Rome...
Not sure I was up to this on a Sunday morning when my husband booked it, but so so glad he did. It was the most fabulous way to spend the day. Beautiful countryside, amazing cooking, delicious food, drink and hospitality. Claudia & Bruno were such a generous, hospitable, entertaining couple and we had such fun as a family including 2 teenagers. Bruno's keyboard playing whilst we were cooking was magical and Claudia's singing (voice) was ooh la la - incredible! Definitely one of our most fun and memorable holicay activities, would recommend to anyone whose up for something a little different to the usual cooking lesson, up for fun and great company.. Molto Grazie Claudia et Bruno. We hope to meet you both again... Ciao

If you do anything in Italy do this!
What do you call it when everything comes together? The smells, the food, the company, the sights, even the MUSIC?! You call it cooking with Claudia! As my GF and I were wrapping up our Italian vacation we had two days in Rome. I know what you’re thinking, “what is there to do after the tourists crap”? The truth, nothing besides sit in traffic. But hold your horses, there’s cooking with Claudia! Situated about 40 min outside of Rome in Zagarolo, Claudia and her helper/husband/one man band have created an ideal food lovers paradise. On an off Monday before we were flying back to America’s armpit of a capital my GF set up a cooking class with Claudia and it was seriously the highlight of our trip. We were greeted by Claudia and her wonderful husband Bruno. Right away they made us feel at ease in their wonderful bungalow. After some pleasantries and an introduction to some delicious wine cookies (yeah, awesome, I know) we got down to cooking. No sooner did we do that than Bruno hopped on the piano and started planing some Queen. We cooked so much food I thought we were going to feed an Army. Claudia kept surprising me by turning the most simple ingredients into wonderfully smelling treats (fried Sage in homemade batter? Yes please!) Claudia and Bruno make their own wine (yes, it’s delicious), olive oil (yes, it’s delicious too), but they also have all sorts of fresh herbs growing on their property. Oh, you like fresh sage and fennel? Claudia or Bruno will go grab some from the garden for you to add to your meal. I wish my words could do the dinner justice. The company, food, home made wine, and Billy Joel hits on the piano created an atmosphere that neither I or my GF will soon forget. Eating a truly fresh meal with garden ingredients under a grape vine covered pergola in a late summer evening with great people is something you can’t put a price on. The only downside is that I asked to be adopted and my offer was not accepted, so I guess I’ll continue to adult. I wish I could do this once a week but alas I must return to the good old US of A. However, if you’re in the area, and are interested in a great evening with great people (and want to hear some Billy Joel) I would highly recommend this class!

I was initially unsure about booking this mainly because the trains from Rome on this day took 1 hour (instead of the usual 30 mins). But I'm so glad I booked it!! My husband and I arrived in Zagarolo, and Bruno picked us up to drive us to his home! Bruno and Claudia were so warm and welcoming into their home! Claudia gave us a little tour of her new kitchen and garden, gave us a cup of coffee to start. We learned so many dishes - pavlova, aubergine parmigiano, ricotta and chard Ravioli, Spagetti pomodoro, and fried zucchini flowers! It was very hands on, and honestly a great experience! We then sat altogether with Claudia's family in her garden to eat the delicious meal we cooked! The whole experience felt very authentic with this lovely Italian family. Bruno gave us some of his vineyard wine and olive oil, we enjoyed some prosecco, listened to him play and sing on the piano! And since the trains weren't running regularly this day, he was kind enough to drop us further away to the last stop of the Rome metro! Overall, I would definitely recommend this, and fully deserves 5*! PS. My husband hates cooking and even he enjoyed it!

Best part of our trip to Italy!
BEST PART OF OUR TRIP TO ITALY! We spent the last morning of our trip cooking in Zagarolo with Cene in casa e musica! We cooked alongside Claudia while Bruno, her husband, played and sang some of our favorite tunes! MAGICAL doesn’t begin to express how awesome it was. This is a MUST DO in Italy! We felt at home and couldn’t stop smiling, and let me tell you, we made some Buonissimo food and drank some of their delicious homemade wine! Grazie mille Claudia, Bruno, and Francesca for such a wonderful day!

      Amazing cooking experience!
We couldn't have asked for a better start to our week in Rome!! My boyfriend and I got lost on the way there and arrived late, luckily we were the only ones booked for the day and Claudia was so sweet and waited for us to begin the cooking! Her home is beautiful, and she makes you feel right at home. We spent the day laughing and attempting to re-create Claudia's amazing dishes! We had lunch outside in the garden, drinking wine and eating delicious food. Time flew by way too quick, I hope to come back another time for a different class!!

      Delightful Day
My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful day with chef Claudia and her husband Bruno. We learned to make pasta and were serenaded by Bruno singing jazz. The day was perfect so we sat outside to eat what was prepared and drank homemade wine. This is an easy train journey from Rome. Highly recommend.

      A true Italian experience
I was travelling in Rome with a friend and one of our days looked like less than favorable weather. We had talked about cooking one day and had looked at a number of options. This option, in a private home, jumped out at us. We were met at the train station by Bruno with one other couple who also signed up for the day. When we arrived at the home Claudia greeted us and allowed us to walk the beautiful property and learn about the locally sourced produce. When we began cooking Claudia was gracious with all of our levels (or lack of levels) of cooking experience. There was much laughter even as we rolled ravioli dough, cut produce, prepared the meal. Bruno, a musician, sang and played the piano between helping in the kitchen. We had wine with grapes from their vineyard and olive oil pressed from their own olives. I could not imagine that my trip could have been any better; this was a great way to spend the day and experience the hospitality and cuisine of a local couple. If you are looking to experience Italy in a way that is authentic and off the beaten path, I highly recommend this!

      Dinner fun
Making a pizza was one of the things my husband wanted to do in Rome. After reading lots of reviews we settled on this one. We got to make dough, roll it out, put the sauce and toppings on, etc. We then sat in the restaurant and they brought us some bruschetta, water and beverages. Our pizza was good but not the best we had in Rome. We had a nice conversation with the other couple. After pizza we had tiramisu. It was a fun way to have dinner.

      Best birthday ever!
I celebrated my 22nd birthday with my sister and six other, lovely tourists in Zagarolo with Claudia, Bruno and Francesca, making ravioli, lasagne, fried zucchini flowers and drinking homemade wine outside in the vineyard. As all the other reviews state, it was such an amazing experience and it really felt like we were visiting old friends. It was the best part of my week in Italy and a day I will never forget. Grazie Claudia, Bruno and Francesca!
