    Beautiful
Guide was phenomenal—so knowledgeable, passionate, and engaging. Hewent above and beyond to make sure every detail was explained in a way that made sense and kept us captivated throughout the tour. It was clear he had a deep understanding of the museum’s pieces, and his enthusiasm was infectious. I left feeling inspired and learned so much more than I expected. Highly recommend both the museum and the guided tour—it made all the difference!

    Colosseum and Forum
Had a tour of the Colosseum and Roman Forum led by Vincenzo. He was really knowledgable about the history behind both sites and told it in such an enthusiastic and engaging way. Couldn't recommend less!!

    Fascinating, fun, perfect for families
Our tour with Barbi is simply fantastic. She is able to pack in so much information while keeping her audience totally hooked and with 12 yo boys, that is a not small challenge!we spent two hours in the Colosseum and even though we thought we already knew a lot given this was our 5th visit to Rome, she managed to surprise us with a whole host of fun, interesting and well researched facts that filled our conversations for the rest of the day. Also, her great energy without being pushy is absolutely contagious making for a memorable highlight of our 4 days in Rome. Thank you, Barbi!

    Fascinating, entertaining, thoroughly enjoyable
Our guide Vincenzo Spina was an amazing storyteller who brought to life the characters and artwork of Villa Farnesina and the two beautiful churches, the basilica of Santa Maria Trastevere and ancient, later Baroque church of Santa Cecelia. Full of color and description, we were mesmerized for the 3+ hours. He had great restaurant recommendations, too! Highly recommend!!!

Learn with the Professor you always wish you had!
Our private tour with Vincenzo was absolutely the best tour we have ever experienced. Ever. Vincenzo was so knowledgeable and engaging and passionate about the history of the republic and the empire. He wove in so much information and really sparked a deeper curiosity in us. We will be back! And we will definitely do another tour with him.

    Vincenzo - GREAT Tour Guide
Vincenzo was an amazing tour guide! He was very passionate about the art and was incredibly engaging! We learned so much on the tour with him, our only regret was not being able to book him for our Vatican tour as well! A true pro who is art savvy and knowledgeable, would recommend!!

    Fantastic Visit
We took a 4-hour private guided tour of the National Roman Museum and the Baths of Diocletian. Martina, our guide, was exceptional. For me, who has a greater background in history, but also for my companion, who does not have a deep knowledge of the subject. She was able to contextualize and give very interesting details, we went through the main works and lesser-known works but with very interesting details. It exceeded our expectations and I highly recommend Martina as a guide.

Tour with Barbie - highlight of our trip to Rome
On our first trip to Rome with our 11-year-old son we were lucky enough to have found Barbie at the recommendation of a tour guide in another Italian city. We took a 3-hour tour of the Colosseum and the neighboring Parco Archeologico del Colosseo which was equally interesting. On this hot Roman day in July, the time flew by as Barbie regaled us with stories of the past and was able to give us the historical and political context to truly appreciate what we were seeing. It also helps that she is a mom and knew how and what to convey in order to paint a picture that would engage not just adults, but children too. As a tour guide, she was also able to navigate the line system and the Colosseum and park which kept our tour flowing, while those without tour guides were not so lucky. This is very important. You do not want to spend your trip waiting in lines or wandering around aimlessly! There is so much to see and without a guide we would have not been able to identify much of what we were seeing, let alone understand the importance of it. When I was planning our trip I felt strongly that group tours would not work for us since my son would be outside the predominant age bracket of the group. Now that I have had this experience, I would highly recommend it, even for couples or individual travelers because you can accomplish so much more, navigate better, and the additional expense is incremental when you account for the total cost of your trip. Remember: your time is your most valuable asset when you are traveling. We booked several months in advance with Barbie and I highly recommend booking as soon as possible since she is highly in demand and the tickets to the attractions must also be purchased in advance to coordinate. Thank you Barbie for an exceptional tour!

    Martina is amazing!!
I cannot say enough about Martina and how amazing our tours were with her! We did the Vatican museum and St. Peter's Basilica as well as the Coloseum and Forum tours the following day. By the end, Martina was one of the family. Her knowledge, explanations and passion are unmatched. Her ability to keep us all on track and engaged was practically magic. There was even a part of the Vatican we wanted to explore further, she gladly obliged and educated us along the way. You can tell Martina put in years of study. Her kind manner and attention to detail was phenomenal. From coordinating months in advance, security tickets and clear instructions, she's the best. If you have a history buff in your group, go with Martina. You will learn so much more. Even the other tour guides would comment to us, "she's the best!" Well, we all agree!!

    Palazzo Barberini with Vincenzo Spina
On June 1 of this year, Vincenzo took my family around the Palazzo Barberini in Rome. We had just gotten off of a long, sleepless flight and were thinking of calling off our plans, but I'm forever grateful we decided to power through because in doing so, I received the greatest museum tour I've ever participated in. After traveling across 3 European countries this summer and meeting with various tour guides, the guide whom I remember as the most engaging and entertaining was Vincenzo. Though on the verge of collapse from exhaustion that day, I found myself listening intently to his delightful stories of each painting we stopped before. I agree that El Greco is underrated. My favorite part was when he talked about the differences between two portraits of women painted by Rafael (how scandalous). I would have been clueless of the rich lore surrounding me and therefore less informed if not for our wonderful guide. I'll definitely be booking with Rome Tours the next time I visit Italy. Thank you so much, Vincenzo!

    Vincenzo was amazing!
This tour was the highlight of our trip to Rome! The Palazzo Massimo is undergoing an external renovation but do not be put off. Vincenzo, out tour guide was lively, engaging and entertaining as well as providing an essential historical view of the many sculptures and paintings stored in the Palazzo Massimo. You really need to have a live guide to these museums as full of artifacts which cannot tell their own story as a live guide can. Thank you, Vincenzo for an informative but fun afternoon in Rome.

Vincenzo is a wonderful guide. Very knowledgeable about art, architecture, and history. Informative and entertaining. We never felt rushed and he adjusted the pace to our needs. He did an excellent job of helping us through crowds. We would highly recommend him. In three hours we received an excellent introduction to Rome.

Roman imperial Tour and Vatican Tour
My daughter and I had two tours with the same guide, Martina, she was beyond lovely and spoke very fluent and ease to understand English. We went to the Roman Forum and the Vatican with her. It was so incredible and informative. She was very patient and understanding. Also incredibly well prepared. My daughter happens to be a big fan of history along with myself and she was asking our guide all types of questions, some not even relevant to our location 🤭 but every question was answered with equal enthusiasm. Would 110% recommend this tour it was worth every cent and more. And absolutely ask for Martina!

I write this during during the Covid-19 pandemic that has devastated beautiful Italy. It makes me think back to my visit and the tours I joined, one with Martina (Rome by Night) and one with Vincenzo (Vatican). I cannot overstate how much they brought history to life and lent a personality to the overwhelming amount of art and architecture in Rome. They both are wonderful people, charming and incredibly knowledgeable. It would have been a shame to visit these sites without the insights of these excellent guides. I hope they are staying strong amid the heartbreak, that they are as patient as the ruins that they used to walk among every day. Rome will survive, as always. Soon its heart will beat strong again, and all the noise, joy and beauty will be back to its true nature. If you go to see it, travelers, do yourself a favor and let these good people introduce you to it.

If I would have had the possibility to rate it 7 I would have done it. Last night was an extraordinary experience of a fascinating tour in the most beautiful city in the world. The endless passion and knowledge of Rome by Vincenzo captures you and keeps you awake for five entire hours. You get so well connected with the ancient city that you have the impression that Rome belongs to you and you belong to Rome during this time. It is not just a waking guided tour, but much more. History is intertwined with curiosities, past is connected with present (and future), buildings with people, bad with good, … a roller coaster of knowledge and feelings.

Being able to walk the streets of the eternal city in the middle of the night accompanied by Vincenzo's stories was an incredible experience.
He took us back in time to the battles between the gladiators, passing through exceptional stories about the greatest masterpieces of Rome, all peppered with funny anecdotes. His oratory skills are formidable.
It was a one-of-a-kind experience!

If you want to see Rome as if catapulted into a parallel world, this is the right opportunity. Immersed in the night and lulled by a voice that makes you dream of other times, the hours pass and the meters become kilometers but everything is so perfectly organized that dawn is yet another surprise of a unique night. To fully enjoy it, I invite a compact camera that's easy to take out, or a cell phone, but the kind that takes beautiful photos at night. The rest is enough to let yourself be carried away by the stories sublimely told by Vincenzo, whose only nickname is "not a simple guide, but a true artist".

I joined the night tour of Rome, a fascinating journey through the millennial history of this unique city, starting from the dawn to the majesty of imperial Rome.
A long walk between the Capitoline Hill, the Roman Forum, the Marcello Theatre, the monuments of the Boarium Forum and the Tiber Island.
It is not the first tour I do with Vincenzo of “Rome Guides” (and it will not be the last) because as a Roman I always wonder how many new things I can learn about my city.
Vincenzo was, as always, brilliant, histrionic, funny and guided us in great detail and anecdotes on a “journey” that covered the history of Rome, from its birth until the imperial age.
A different way to see and learn about the Eternal City, with the lights of the night that framed the wealth of details of the explanations, never pedantic or boring, but rather, full of fun ideas and curiosity.
The best that the panorama of guided tours of Rome can offer.

My friend and I did a night tour of Rome with Vincenzo. This was one of the best tours I’ve ever been on. It incorporated history and art and politics and culture with brilliant story telling and humor. There is so much to see and understand in every street corner of Rome. Vincenzo put it all into context and brought this incredible city to life. I highly recommend a private tour. You can see and learn so much more!!!

Just returned from the wonderful walk made in the beauty of my city, masterfully told by Vincenzo, which made the tour unique in the company of friends and colleagues. We were all struck by the overwhelming energy of our Guide, who with anecdotes and unpublished stories has delivered us a Rome even more beautiful than it already is. Thank you Vincenzo for giving us a "wonderful" night because you allowed us to see with new eyes and live all the beauty we have. Esperienza da ripetere con altri percorsi...straconsigliata!
