We decided to take in a but of culture whilst in Rome. Opera and ballet combined, What could be better. This took place at St Paul's in the Walls church, a magnificent setting. It was €35 but I sure it would have been far cheaper to book direct on their website. Do go. My wife and I enjoyed it immensely. It is in a church so in January was quite cold but in the summer, I'm sure it would be really nice.

This was our first trip to the opera and it was fantastic. We purchased front row seats at only €55 each and had a wonderful evening. We didnt understand a single word but that didnt matter because the performance was so engrossing with a set of 9 musicians and a small cast of singers. The ballet was an added bonus and it was delightful. And the setting of St Pauls Within in the Walls was perfect. I would highly recommend this to anyone traveling to Rome

This was held at St. Paul's within the Wall near Roma Opera House. The orchestra & stage sets were minimum, but effective. We sat in the front row near the mini-orchestra and we could feel breaths of musicians and conductor. We were inches from dancers. Most of all, we could enjoy each bits of singing!! It was fantastic experience. Thank you!!

I booked this show to experience the musical side of Italy on a solo trip to Rome.
The venue was beautiful, the hosts were very welcoming and you were shown to your seats.
The show was fantastic with an incredible orchestra, singers and ballet dancers. The whole performance was brilliant, I would definitely recommend.
The only comment I would make is sitting still on a wooden bench for over 2 hours wasn’t the most comfortable for me so the break in the show was welcomed so I could get up for a little bit. In fact I found a little shop nearby for a drink and snack.
Overall I loved it!

This is a simple setting theater but it was beautifully done. This old church has excellent acoustics. The opera singer or the orchestra does not have any type of electronic sound system which makes it so great. If you want the real Italian experience I suggest you this opera. (do not expect fancy settings) this was an unexpectedly nice and relaxed time in Roma.

The highlights of our four day visit were our evenings at the opera, La Traviata and Opera Arias and Neapolitan songs, in St Paul's within the Walls and the Waldesian church. Wonderful performances from all the lead vocalists in La Traviata, in particular Cristian Alderete, with fantastic music accompaniment, especially the violin. Superb tenor and soprano performances in the Arias and Neapolitan songs. We particularly enjoyed Adriano Gentili on both nights that we heard him. This is definitely a treat on a visit to Rome and we will be back. Thank-you 👏

As my first opera, i was impressed with the performance, the music, and the booking / arrival. Nevertheless, much of the performance was difficult to enjoy due to the heat inside the church which meant multiple guests had to leave in between acts. At the same time, despite having close seats, the acoustics were not great and it felt rather quiet and unclear. This must have been worse for the people at the back.

We attended the performance at St. Paul within the Walls, which was a great venue for the acoustics. The performance was well done and very much enjoyed, especially the combination of the opera with the ballet.
As English speakers, we couldn’t comprehend the words as there were no subtitles but this did not detract from the pleasant experience. During intermission, I just pulled out my phone and quickly read a synopsis of the first act. A post of the fun for us is that we decided to interpret the story through all that happening, but through a modern lens. We both felt the main character was dealing with the ravages a COVID. Maybe it hit a like too close to home because we were not too far off base. It ended up being tuberculosis.
All in all, it was a very fun and entertaining evening. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and would check out another opera if we return to Rome.

This was an unexpected find. We thought we were going to get excerpts from Traviata, and instead they did the whole opera! The cast was great, especially the soprano, who was outstanding! The small orchestra was excellent, and filled the space with sound as if they had 3 times the numbers. As a bonus, the church has some amazing, almost surreal, painted walls and ceilings.

There was a terrible noise all the way through the performance. We literally could not concentrate on the singing - we could hardly hear it! We complained and were told that nothing could be done and we were made to feel bad for complaining about it - but lots of people were just leaving having paid a lot of money for their tickets. The staff were not very professional and poorly trained. And the Manager was genuinely nasty and so so rude. We left and would never recommend this experience to anybody. It's a horrible place. The Church shouldn't host them. I've been to the theatre hundreds of times and I have never ever had this experience.
