Not as advertised/ Not a small group tour
We booked the Villa Borghese tour that was listed as "max 10 people". We booked all 10 tickets for our group of 10 people. We booked directly through their website. When we arrived, there were 5 more people added to our tour. This was clearly not what was advertised. Due to us not wanting to disrupt anyone's experience, as we had multiple children, we decide it was the polite thing to go off on our own. This was a shock and dismay to our group of ten people. I have emailed and called the tour company. To be clear, I never requested a refund. I got a short email with no explainion on why this happened. By phone the woman got mean and said "we can always add more people to the tour if we want". No accountability. They ruined our time at the Villa Borghese. We could've gone with a different company if they had been honest with us in the beginning.

A great way to explore St Peter's Basilica
This was a fantastic tour option. You don't skip the line, but the "early bird" morning start means the queue is not too long and it moves quickly. Your guide escorts you along the queue, through security and all the way up to the dome. When you come back down you are left to explore the rest of the Basilica at your own pace. Our guide was EXCELLENT. So much information about the history of the Basilica and other interesting facts throughout the tour. Good value for money and a highly recommended way to get into St Peter's. Allow 2 hours in total, including the entrance line.

Beautiful museum! Guide was a little much
The museum is beautiful and absolutely worth the visit!! However, it was quite an expensive tour and our tour guide was entertaining maybe for some but not for us. She had a big personality and was personable. What we didn’t like was that she made too many casual comments hitting on the men/being flirty overall. It was funny for the first 2 or 3 but got old after that.

      Bad tour guide
The site was outstanding and we really enjoyed the historical Aspect and beautiful views of the city. However, we were terribly disappointed that the tour guide spent a great majority of the time bashing the catholic christian church. We understand that everyone has a personal opinion about politics and religion but we were on vacation and were on the tour to learn about Roman history and to see the castle . His constant complaints become tiring as we were trying to enjoy viewing the architecture and art on display. Unfortunately, Our tour guide had pornography on his phone that he reported was linked to the Catholic Church on display for everyone to view and at that point being offended, we walked away and concluded the tour on our own. We recommend this tour but not this tour guide.

      Could have done without tour
While our tour guide was great, the castel is fairly small and after I don't know if the tour was really worth it. If you want to know details, then it's great. Otherwise, do this on your own.

      Borghese is the Best
If you love artwork this is a must do. One of the best tours in Rome. Great area in the city. Our guide, Fredrico was a fantastic guide. Book early because tickets go quickly. Grounds need some TLC.

      Good but overpriced
Our tour guide was excellent and very knowledgeable. I found this tour to be overpriced. The second floor of the gallery was closed for renovation and we didn’t see the secret garden. It was primarily a tour about sculptor Bernini - which was good - but I didn’t think it matched the price paid.

The tour was fantastic, it was a great way to see the city with a knowledgeable guide. We saw sights we would never have seen without the help of our guide. We loved the flexibility of stopping and getting out for photos and seeing quaint neighborhoods and landmarks.

CHOOSE A DIFFERENT PROVIDER - RIP OFF
If I could go back in time, I would tell my self to AVOID this company. They charged 127.00 each for 'early access that beats the crowds.' No such thing. Falsely advertised that we would see inside St. Peters Basilica which we did not. We would have chosen another tour guide provider if we had of known this from the outset. Overcharged & falsely advertised. Then they refused to refund us the full price of the ticket because we participated in the tour. We would NOT have participated if we had of known we were starting the tour under false pretences.... Save yourself the money and CHOOSE A DIFFERENT TOUR GUIDE PROVIDER....

      Amazing experience!
This museum is one of the most beautiful I have ever seen. Bernini's sculptures and Caravaggio's paintings are breathtaking. The tour staff is great, extremely nice, helpful, smart and knowledgeable. Props to our tour guide, Federico, who was awesome and knew EVERYTHING about the museum. Definitely worth the visit, the time and the money.

      Delightful
Absolutely wonderful experience. Gorgeous museum and excellent guide. She was extremely knowledgeable, very pleasant to listen to and made us all not just learn but get emotionally involved. Bravo! Also, I happened to hurt my back right before the tour and the museum was great by providing the wheel chair, so I did not miss this delightful experience. Overall, not the place to skip while in Rome!

This was the only organised activity we had in Rome where we were left with a bad taste. We paid €80 for tickets that would have cost us €30 had we bought them direct from the gallery. For this we were met at the entrance of the gallery by a representative who then left us to tour on our own. A total rip off and very disappointing - Beware - if organisations are offering ticket only you can get them on line from the gallery itself.

That said the gallery is well worth a visit. We loved the sculptures and the rooms in which they were housed. The paintings were also very impressive if you are into religious art.

The website did not make it very clear that Trip Advisor is basically buying up limited tickets and reselling at approximately double the price. I only purchased this ticket because they were otherwise not available at the time I needed. If I could go the following day, I would have been able to get them for 15 Euro directly from the gallery. Don't get me wrong...the Borghese gallery is still worth the higher price, but earlier planning would have saved money.

The tour of the gallery was fantastic; it’s a beautiful building with a stunning collection built by a family with an interesting history. The tour guide was excellent but she was an employee of the gallery, not of the operator. I suggest that you try to book your tickets through the gallery website direct as it will be cheaper. All the tour operator did was wait outside the gallery for me to collect the ticket from them.

Way too expencive! I don’t know how it works but an origanal ticket is 15 euro. They where sold out but i could only buy 2 tickets for 157.00 euro! With tourgide. Which we did not want so the additional audioguide was another 8 euro.
If you know far in advance you want to visit museo Borghese try to buy it directly from the museum if possible. I felt ripped off.
    However The museum is beautiful!!

Before visiting the gallery, we found lots of recommendations on internet stating that reservation is must. So we bought the tickets in Tiqets(price was the same in others).
The experience of purchase and receival of tickets was good, but when we arrived to museum we were surprised to see that there are tickets available in the ticketing office and that the price is half(!) of what we paid.

We had a guided tour at the Vila Borghese and it was amazing. Our guide took us to two hours of exciting journey into the Renaissance and barouk period, and explained about the paintings, the artist's lives and their patrons, with so much passion, humor and knowledge, that it felt like a period drama in Netflix. Wonderful tour, we are going to change our cat's name to Bernini.

Scammed really - the cost of the tickets were double the price sold at Villa Borghese! No added extras since there was no queue at all (we went end of June, so maybe it is busier during peak holiday). Website was also misleading: we thought we booked the tour (given the price) but went to meet the tour guide, who just handed us our tickets and said 'enjoy'. Maybe there was an add on or something, but website definitely was unclear.

Please make sure you check what you're booking, and try to find Villa Borghese's actual website for cheaper tickets for the exact same experience!

However, I will say that the tickets had sold out on the day we went, so at least the tickets let us into the gallery. Make sure you book in advance to avoid disappointment.

The museum limits the amount of visitors heavily and with this tour I got the full benefits of that. It was so wonderful to actually see the art and learn so much about it, not fighting the crowds for a peek at the items. The tour guide (Mattia) was very good, he knew so many details and gave an excellent perspective on the works (especially on Bernini). An excellent tour.

The guide was very good and the tour of the gallery was interesting and informative. However, they offered a two-hours tour (and it was very expansive) when in fact the tour was only one hour and 20 minutes. The gallery closed after one hour of visit and then we were guided to the gardens. But it was impossible to see anything in the darkness and the guide finished after approximately 20 minutes (apologizing that the lights were turned off). We were very happy for the option to see the gallery (there were no tickets on that day so that was our only option of entering) but we did feel a bit scammed for the short duration of the tour relative to the expansive price.

As mentioned the tickets do cost more than "just buying them at the door" but when we went at 11 a.m. the tickets for the entire day were already sold out. If you want to go inside, you need to pre-book your tickets! I took my mom to this museum while the rest of the family went to the catacombs. She has limited mobility. The museum staff took very good care of us, making sure we had access to the elevator and they provided wheelchairs on each floor. It is astounding to think that people actually lived in such a place and the artwork is amazing! ***A hidden gym on the premises include an additional small museum nearby which is a free-will donation and is full of sculpture by (can't remember his name) a man who worked in making copies of famous works from around the world. Take 30 minutes and visit this building located a short distance from the Villa.
