Our tour guide Helena was amazing!! We would recommend bringing your own headphones; the ones they provide are not as comfortable. We were surprised how long the tour was. Due to the length of the tour we would recommend eating before and a water bottle. My friend and I made the mistake of not eating before and not bringing water! Helena made sure we always had an opportunity to stop in the shade when needed, but if you are traveling in the summer months absolutely bring a small spf bottle with you. We really enjoyed the tour. There are a lot of photo opportunities to take photos inside, but if you want to stop at the gift shops you’ll have to do it on your own time. We really enjoyed our small tour and we absolutely would recommend it to others!

Our trip was great! Our tour guide was very knowledgable, personable and funny! We loved her! The colosseum was quite busy but we received headphones which made it very easy to hear what she was saying. The meeting point was very easy to find, just one street over from the entrance to the colosseum. There was a lot of security, we had to go through two checkpoints with metal detectors for us and our bags. Our tickets were checked at multiple points. Masks were required in enclosed areas of the tour but optional in the open air and walking points of the tour.

We booked this tour for our young boys (7 and 10) and it was excellent. From the beginning Laura, our guide, who spoke fluent English, engaged both us and the boys with great detail and information which was embellished with books or pictures from her bag. We took slightly different routes to the crowds and managed to keep the boys interested for over 3 hours - in fact we ran a little over in time and this wasn’t a problem. Laura was a knowledgeable, interesting and (important with young kids) patient guide. Would 100% recommend for families and for tours of Rome.

Actual tour around the colosseum and palatine gardens very good, however if under the age of 40 I would recommend not bothering with this tour, over priced extra 20 euro a head just for someone to speak none stop down your ear for 3 hours. If the information given was interesting and relevant then this would make the tour better. However, Andrara was too interested in explaining every little detail about some silly rocks rather than the colosseum as a whole an the history behind it. I didn’t come half way accross the word and spend 45 euro to stare at some rocks and Motor for half of the tour.

Shambolic organisation for 50 Euro’s a pop.

You would be wiser just to get regular tickets (book early)- less than half the price and kids are free. Then grab a audio guide and read the signs,

We Started 30 minutes late.
Rushed through the forum. Our guide was nice but not very knowledgeable. I learnt more from a 15 minute YOUTUBE. Video the night before.

When we got to the colosseum they didn’t have all our tickets so we sat waiting for another 30 minutes and four of our group could not get it (?!)

A big shame. 👎

In my opinion, this tour is a ‘MUST DO’ when visiting Rome. I just really wanted to go inside the Colosseum but I’m so pleased that we booked this tour. It was three hours and our amazing guide barely took a breath - he had such a wealth of knowledge about the Colosseum, the history, the Gladiators and the Roman Forum. There is no way we could have found out as much as we did. I believe that his name is ‘Yuri’ and whatever he is getting paid is not enough! He is a fantastic tour guide. I have no idea how he retains all the information! He was even asked a random question about something in the Vatican - totally unrelated and gave such a comprehensive answer! This is by far the best way to learn the history of this phenomenal amphitheater!

Guilio was our tour guide and he was WONDERFUL. You can tell he loves history and brings a ton of charisma and energy to the entire tour. We took the English speaking tour and he has great English and was very receptive to all of our questions. Also gave us further recommendations (excavation of St Clement Basilica) which was also incredible so he continued to help better our trip. Def would recommend this tour if you want to learn all the fun history of the space.

Unfortunately, I wouldn’t be able to tell you how this tour was. We were unable to enter the colosseum due to my husband’s green pass being unable to load on my cell phone. When I later called to ask about being able to join another tour later in the week, the tour company curtly told me it wasn’t their fault so they would not let us join another tour unless we paid in full again. I definitely agree with the fact that it was not their fault, I just hoped for a level of understanding in such a difficult time. I don’t think anyone foresaw what happened, but to be fair we paid for a tour we never got to enjoy. So we will be rebooking, but with another tour that allows you to refund or rebook the tour if something like this happens! I suggest, with the craziness and uncertainty of covid, you do the same and not book with companies who have a level of customer service which allows for difficult situations!

Dennis led our group tour in, around and under the Colosseum. He asked questions (managing not to make us feel silly), answered questions (we didn’t manage to find one he couldn’t answer) and was a font of interesting facts. His enthusiasm for his subject was tangible and catching. It’s a fascinating, awe-inspiring place. Thoroughly recommend it and this company. The tour was in English although Dennis is a Roman through and through. The headset was really clear and the group was small and easy to keep together.

This was an excellent tour! Our guide Patrizio was amazing - very knowledgeable and great at describing life and how things worked in the colosseum, and all of ancient Rome. You could really visualize what it might have been like! We would never have ferreted out the information he provided! He navigated our large group in and out of crowded areas with apparent ease. This was by far our favorite tour of our trip!
