Meet your guide in Campo de’ Fiori in front of Ristorante La Carbonara for this small group food and wine tasting tour of Rome. Explore the city center, passing vibrant cafes and buskers, while listening to your guide sharing stories of Roman food and history. The first stop is for classic aperitivo, including wine and artisan salami. Learn about the salami’s protected geographical indication, or PGI, an important element of food in Italy. Taste more PGI products at a charming cheese shop, then sample the traditional Roman dish of baccalà fritto, or fried salt cod, pizza ordered by the slice, and supplì, fried risotto balls. After a short walk to Trastevere, settle into a cozy restaurant for a light dinner. Snack on traditional Roman antipasto and two primi, or first course dishes, alongside two different types of wine. The final stop is a gelateria where you taste rich, creamy gelato in the flavor of your choice.

Not for slow walkers and bad knees
Beautiful and worth every cent. Not recommended for people who have issues walking. There are lots of stairs and lots of walking. My aunt was told she couldn’t continue the second half of the tour. She sat under a tree, I continued with a guilty conscience.

    Beautiful and Informative
An incredible tour with two pieces of the same story. Influential architecture, beautiful grounds, and time in a nice town. Even though this was the longest tour I could find for the sites, at times it felt rushed with the amount there is to see at both places.

Don't miss an opportunity to visit the Gardens of Tivoli
The trip to Hadrians Villa and the Gardens of Tivoli were excellent. Each place has a unique history of its own, the landscape, and how residents lived during this period. Hadrians architecture and engineering were marvels with only partial remnants that will entice your vision of what was. On the other hand, Tivoli was intact, and the interior was amazing with incredible paintings that will take you back in time. The gardens were exceptional, and again, the ingenuity of how they designed each section as well as each water feature are unbelievable. Both are worth a trip out of Rome for a fantastic day.

    Day trip to Tivoli
Visiting the town of Tivoli is an hour drive out of Rome, a great change of pace. We were separated into two groups - with lunch and without lunch. We met the tour guides in Tivoli and of course they imparted loads of information and history. We went on our own for lunch. Our tour guide suggested a restaurant - this is where we ate but there are other places you can try near Villa D'Este down some little streets - plenty of options. Leave room for gelato. Make sure you wear comfortable walking shoes as Villa D'Este has a lot of stairs. Overall, both Villas are beautiful - you'll need to use imagination for Hadrian's Villa as it would have been very grand.

Do this tour, you won’t be disappointed
This was a fantastic tour. Our guide was very impressive with his historical knowledge. He lives in Tivoli and was keen to share his knowledge of its history with us. The first half of the tour was going through Hadrian’s garden. An amazing place. The man was a genius and his architectural designs are something to be seen. The second half was walking through Tivoli gardens, with sensational water fountains and gardens and rooms filled with amazing art.

Tour guide great, end of tour horrible
First of all, there is no signage for Nicom Tours on their building. Trying to use Google Maps anywhere in the Vatican City area was useless as the directional needle constantly fluctuated and was unreliable. Nicom Tour needs to immediately change the sign above their building entrance if they’re going to operate under multiple company names. Our guide Francesco was excellent, well prepared, knowledgeable and engaging. However at the conclusion of the tour he left us to fend for ourselves to find our way out of the Vatican. We wandered around for nearly two hours in the dark before we found a cab stand outside of the Vatican. For the price of the tour, the very least the company can do is issue a simple exit map detailing steps back to the original entry point so we can backtrack our way back to our hotel. Beware, the tour is 3 full hours long, no breaks, hot, humid, lots of walking, stair climbing and absolutely nowhere to sit and take a break on the old bones.

    NICOM TOURS... JUST DON'T 😡
OMG! Awful experience! I had printed confirmation of the tour, meeting point etc, was 30 minutes early to the meeting point NO GUIDE. Frantic calls to Nicom with no answer, then a call at 4 minutes passed the start time to say that the meeting point was elsewhere!! Make it there as quickly as possible to find the tour had left! Ongoing emails trying to get a refund, not holding out much hope.... off to the Vatican on Wednesday (with another provider) will drop in on their office see if that moves things along 😉

    Quick but lovely.
Quick but lovely. To appreciate it all, one needs more time at each place. Very cool to see the old and the "new"! Hope for nice weather!

    Watch out from this tour
The worst tour I been at. We almost didn't been in villa handriana. The tour guide was nice but didn't explained much. I didn't want to buy lunch but from thee site you have to buy it and no refund for it. I left the tour in the middle

It was well organized and very informative.
This trip was well organized and very interesting. It was comfortable and I truly enjoyed every minute of it. I would not sign up for the lunch though. It was ok but I could have done better on my own. This was one of the most beautiful gardens I’ve ever been to. And I’ve been to many!! Well worth the money.

    Well-paced and informative.
Both destinations are close to each other, about 25m east of Rome in the hills. Guide Giuseppe was local, informative and professional in all regards. Well worth it. Many steps and lots of walking , hills too. Be prewarned. Bring a bottle of water if needed. And nice to escape the crowds in Rome central. Whispers are used, helpful. Use your ibud earphones for better reception. DON’T get the extra lunch, unless you want to eat with the large group and have a fixed menu and wine. The area used for lunch is in an urban setting with many nice cafes, just outside the entrance to Ville de Esta. We had entrecôte and salad, 2 diet cokes, a super hamburger, and gelato all for €33 in a shaded outdoor corner cafe that was not crowded at all.

Trip to Hadrian's Villa, Tivoli and Villa D'Este
Very enjoyable trip to the UNESCO heritage sites of Hadrian's Villa and Villa D'Este. Our guide was Alessio, a friendly but no nonsense lady local to the Tivoli area. The first stop was Hadrian's Villa, which was very interesting and I would have liked to have spent a bit more time here understanding the history. This part felt a bit rushed. Before going to the Villa D'Este we went to a traditional trattoria for lunch, which was bruschetta, fettuccine and a baked prosciutto and cheese dish with a side salad. The bruschetta was definitely the best I have had but the rest was just ok. The final stop was the Villa D'Este, with it's 1000 fountains. This was clearly the highlight of the trip, the fountains were fantastic. Again I would have liked a little more time to explore. In terms of practical all communications are through an earphone so no issues with hearing even if you are wandering. Hadrian's Villa and the gardens at Villa D'Este offer very little shade, so plan accordingly, a refillable water bottle is a must

Lacklustre tour, overpriced, terrible inedible lunch, lacklustre tour guide!
Really below average tour with the worst lunch I have ever had! The locations were beautiful but the tourguide had a real lacklustre approach to the tour, appeared to be more interested in telling us about the shops etc and the discounts we could get in them. I wish I hadn't booked.

    A Good Day Trip
Booked through "Get your guide." Transport there & back good. Not enough time spent either at Hadrian's Villa or Villa d'Este. We opted for no lunch option. ( 1 hour 40 minutes was way too long.) Had we been given our tickets beforehand, we could have enjoyed more time at Tivoli Gardens, whilst waiting for the group.Deserves better organisation

Our guide Catia was very good, knowledgable, enthusiastic and easy to understand. The wine selection and quantities were perfect, as was the cheese and salami tastings. After that the rest of the food was disappointing and really let the tour down. No pizza as was promised in the description, far too much fried and greasy food, and the pasta was not enjoyable at all, salty and stodgy.

Extremely disappointing. Our guide did not introduce herself and did not appear interested in giving us any history of the areas we were walking through or why we were tasting the specific foods. She appeared to be casually strolling through the tour waiting for it to be over. I wish we knew her name so we could warn everyone not to request her. We could have easily spent the money on an exquisite dinner for three somewhere else. Would not recommend!

9 of us met up, different nationalities and most were couples, for an evening to try different restaurants and italian food and drink. It was good fun, good food and wine. However it felt a bit rushed, I think this was t because there was a tight schedule to get around the booked restaurants.

I do food tours in almost every country I visit and I was so looking forward to this one! I thought - with all the amazing food in Rome, how could one go wrong? The tour guide was one of the worst I’d ever experienced, speaking with far more enthusiasm about his homeland of Albania. One of the other guests finally asked - are you secretly working for a tourism group of Albania? He even was showing YouTube videos for Albania on his phone during dinner! The walking layout was insanely ill planned (crossing over the same piazza 3 times!), the food was mediocre at best and again, the guide made no effort to make the group feel cohesive or enthusiastic. Absolutely not worth the $$$ :(

I highly recommend the Food and Wine Tasting tour in Rome. We saw places and
neighborhoods we might have missed. Tasted different Roman foods at authentic
places. Our tour guide was fabulous - knowledgable and friendly !!
Excellent follow through concerning food allergies.

Overall the food we tasted was good but or tour guide was not good. I wish I could tell you her name but she didn’t give it to us.
She did little to describe the the food and less to describe the wine . We have taken several walking tours and our guide gave us no information on Rome or it’s neighborhoods.
Our guide seemed bored and disinterested.
You can find better or do a self guided tour.

Wow, this was a great tour! Alma was a fantastic guide. I'd not only book this tour again, but I'd book any Rome tour she was leading. I visited Rome with my father- this was our first "food tour"- and the bar has been set high! The food experience was wonderful...so much food! It was also cool getting to speak with the others on the tour- by the end, everyone seemed to have enjoyed each other's company.

What a memorable experience! We met Ian, our tour guide in beautiful Piazza Campo de' Fiori. (Get there earlier to wander around.) We started our tour with delicious cheese and Prosecco. We then had deep fried Baccala and wine while standing in the piazza and then to the back room of another shop for salami and more wine. After the first 3 courses, we headed out for pizza and Suppli (delicious). After being stuffed, we then sat down for dinner! Our dinner began with a deep fried zucchini flower stuffed with cheese and anchovy. We then had two different pastas, wine and bread. Everything was delicious. We could not finish all of the food that was on the table. We ended our sit down dinner with a digestif after dinner drink. Our tour ended at a Gelato shop where we could sample two flavors! We were all completely stuffed. Everyone in our group had a blast. We met a lot of great people during this tour. I would highly recommend this tour!

We had booked through Viator (TA sister site) for this tour back in February for a June 1 tour and it was completely worth it. Though the tour is about four hours, most of the places are in fairly close proximity so the walking is not bad at all. Our guide was Alma, and she was absolutely fantastic. She kept the tour on time, but we never felt rushed and got to enjoy the Roman atmosphere as we walked (stopped to listen to a busker in a square, take pictures on a bridge). Alma was great at explaining the background of the food and the locations we visited, and she was also very kind. Our group had a lot of fun with her, and we had plenty to celebrate: one couple got engaged on our tour and two others also had birthdays!

The wine was flowing and everything we ate was delicious. I still have dreams about the pasta we ate (my only regret was that I couldn't finish). I can't recommend this tour highly enough — it was my favorite tour that we went on in Rome. Grazie mille, Alma, for such an amazing time!
