After meeting at the gate, your guide will lead you into Castel Sant’Angelo with your skip-the-line tickets. The castle was the tomb of Emperor Hadrian and many of his successors were buried there. The castle was also used by popes as the State Treasury,  a prison and  location for public executions. On your tour, you will see magnificent art, the emperor’s burial place, the courtyard of executions, the Papal Apartments, the treasury room, and much more. You will even step out onto the terrace for a breathtaking view over Rome. You will enjoy the pleasure and privilege of a semi-private tour, in a group that does not exceed 10 participants

      Brilliant and delicious!
A delicious and fun tour!! Lucy was an incredible guide and taught us so much about authentic Roman food, and made sure we always had wine! The Parma ham and buffalo mozzarella is to die for! The Paciotti was my favourite part of the tour.

      Rome food culture
Our tour guide Francesca was very knowledgeable about the historical facts and their connection to food; Given the downpour & constant heavy rain, she still managed to make the tour a lot of fun! I loved her passion for food & creating a great vibe between our small group. I would thoroughly recommend it. Nigel

      Wonderful food tour in Rome!
We were expecting great food, of course, but we were all surprised by how much history she was able to relate as we walked from stop to stop. She also made certain that the gluten-free people in our group were taken care of, and the food was incredible!

Lovely food at a bargain price!
Went on this food tour a few hours after arriving in Rome. I picked this tour due to the great reviews and reasonable price. As the cost of every other food tour was far more money than this. We had never done a food tour before and this was “more” than I had hoped for. The food was plentiful, also got offered wine and beer. My teenage daughter also enjoyed and by the time it was over our bellies were full!! The guide was warm, knowledgeable not only about the food but also about the history of the places. Each place we stopped off at was welcoming. Definitely do this tour when in Rome! It’s a bargain!

First of many tours worth it to get a bite throughout different parts of the city
Excellent tour. Very hot day in late August. A great way to acclimate as it was my first tour and Roman experience straight off the plane. Food was good especially the fried artichoke in the Jewish Ghetto.

Mattia was our tour guide. He was excellent!

The tour was just for my husband and I. It was perfect. We could ask questions about anything. Mattia was very knowledgeable about the history and various rooms of the Castel Sant’Angelo.

I loved the personal experience we received. I would definitely recommend seeing this place and using Mattia.

This was worth every cent! Our guide was so knowledgeable about the castle. She kept us entertained throughout the tour. I’m not even a history person but her stories about life in the castle and how the space evolved over the years- how the different spaces were used- so descriptive and entertaining. She also offered a lot of helpful information about the local area, getting around and tips to avoid crowds. Highly recommend!

I would highly recommend this tour. Our tour guide was amazing and full of facts, the tour was very interesting. A must is to sit in the outdoor restaurant after the tour and enjoy the amazing views of Rome from atop the castle.

I had been to Rome twice before but never went to this attraction. The reviews were good so I added it to our plan. So glad I did. Our tour guide Mateo was amazing! So much great information and I learned more on this tour than all others combined. The castle was amazing with lots of great stories of the history. Would recommend to everyone. I had my two teenagers and they were interested throughout the tour.
