About
See the Colosseum through the eyes of gladiators on this tour that gives you entry through the Gladiator Gate. Bypassing the long lines that often snake around the ancient stadium, just step inside, straight onto the arena floor. Walk where the gladiatorial games once took place, as you learn the stadium’s history and then visit the ruins of Palatine Hill and the Roman Forum.

Highlights
  • No waiting at the Colosseum with admission through a reserved entranceway
  • Learn the Colosseum’s history through your guide’s commentary
  • Catch all of your guide’s stories with the help of provided headphones
  • Skip the line at the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill to spend more time inside
What to expect
  • With your skip-the-line ticket in hand, follow your guide inside the Colosseum via a special side gate that opens onto the arena floor. Stepping straight into the footsteps of the gladiators, walk around the arena floor itself, an area that’s normally out of bounds on standard Colosseum tours. As you learn the stadium’s history through tales of gladiators, wild beasts, and emperors, explore the first tier and visit a vantage point to gaze down at the Roman Forum. Continue your tour outside the amphitheater with a stroll to Palatine Hill and the Roman Forum. Learn about daily life in the days of Imperial Rome, and discover the history that harks back to the ruins’ glory days. Your tour ends after the Roman Forum visit. NOTE: There is a new rule at the Colosseum, Roman Forum and Palatine Hill that only small backpacks and regular-size handbags are allowed inside. Guests with larger bags are not allowed to enter (there are no storage facilities) and all guests must now pass through a security check before entering the Colosseum.

Amazing!
Oct 2021 • Couples
This tour is a must - our second visit to Rome and by far the best tour that we have done. Paolo was brilliant; knowledgable, patient and had a great sense of humour. We learnt a lot (even though we have visited the colosseum before!) and going through the gladiator entrance was an added bonus. The tour was thorough and we also loved seeing the Roman Forum from within and also from the perspective of Palatine Hill.

Grazie Paolo - we will recommend this tour to all of our friends visiting Rome!!!

"Fantastic"
Sep 2021
We were on a tour of Italy with friends in September and had a free day in Rome so I booked this tour of the Colesseum, Palatine Hill, and Forum.
It was very well planned, however, the best part of the tour was having Maria as our guide. She was informative (without being too dry) had a great sense of humor, and very well organized. She kept the tour moving at and easy pace and was open to answering any question in a pleasant manner. I hope anyone taking this tour will have the pleasure of Maria as a guide to walk them through these amazing sites. She is a real gem. We would love to visit again and have her as a guide anywhere in Rome!
Don't hesitate to book this tour when in Rome.

Luciana was very knowledgeable and professional. She was very enthusiastic about this tour. We toured the gladiator gate, arena floor, Imperial Forum, and Palatine Hill. She gave us plenty of time to walk from place to place and time for questions. We enjoyed the tour and enjoyed her as a guide.

Incredible Experience
Aug 2021
This is my second time doing this tour and I absolutely loved it. The friendliness, knowledge and enthusiasm of the tour guide made it such a memorable and worthwhile experience. The awesome site of these ruins was only improved by our guide's, Davide, colorful anecdotes. I had to email the company to make a change to the date and time of our tour just a few days before it was scheduled and the response time and service was incredible. If you are a first time visitor to Rome or travel there frequently, you really must to use this company to help you appreciate all that the city has to offer!

A fantastic tour and brand new access
Jul 2021
What a fantastic experience. The newly opened lower levels of the Colisseum give an amazing insight into what it must have been like for the people behind the scenes. When I visited there 40 years ago none of this was open and the guided experience brought it all to life. Our tour guide was fantastic and a wealth of historical information. Being in a smaller group allowed everyone to interact with him, which was great. I did a couple of tours with Walks of Italy and cannot recommend them highly enough. I had booked the wrong tour at first and they were extremely helpful in rebooking me. Meeting the guide was easy, the equipment worked perfectly.
