    Federico is fantastico!
Federico was so good at explaining what we needed to do, how to do it, what the little tricks are, and best of all, he makes it so much fun. We really enjoyed cooking with him and would highly recommend this to anyone who loves food and cooking.

    Unbelievable experience!
The highlight of our time in Italy, this was everything - amazing value - incredible castle with history - genuine local people who care about food and culture - and did I mention the cooking class with Chef Alessandri? Not only is he an incredibly experienced chef, but he is also a teacher and entertainer! We had so much fun in our class and enjoyed ourselves so much it felt like a dream. On top of everything, they made all the arrangements for transport and our stay was super easy. We only planned to stay one day, you should spend at least 3 and by the way, this would be a wonderful place for a wedding! We're looking forward to our next trip to Rome so we can get away to Umbria and visit Chef Alessandri and family again! (We also loved the truffle-hunting puppies taxi and Uber, who made it feel especially like home-away-from-home)

Cooking classes in times of COVID19
In these times of COVID confinement we all need to find something new to do, and find a way to at least travel in our mind. A cooking class is a great way to combine both. Today we had an online cooking class with Chef Federico Alessandri. You might think what for, I can just watch any cooking channel. You’d be wrong! This is interactive! You watch, you do, you learn, you have immediate feedback. You can do it with friends all from different eG locations. All you need is a good internet connection, an open mind and enjoy cooking. You can even discuss what you want to learn. So it’s tailored to your preference or dietary needs. Go for it! You won’t be disappointed.

    Wonderful Memories
Federico is such a talented chef but more than that he knows how to impart the love of cooking. We had such a wonderful time. It is one of the days we talk about most when sharing our trip experience with friends and family. Certainly a highlight of our trip to Rome.

    Wonderful recipes
We are not the best of cooks, but during the class we have been able with no great effort to prepare wonderful recipes, even good looking ones! We would never have been able to do that without our Federico!

Place in a fantastic area in Rome
This place is fantastic, located in a distinctive area in Rome. If you like Italy, Federico’s course is the right place to know all the secrets of the Italian cuisine, to take back home then.

    Highly recommended !!
An unforgettable experience, a very talented and helpful chef. I really enjoyed every single dish that we cooked and was beyond full by the end of the session. The price paid is worthwhile just for the quality of food that you get to eat let alone the addition of the insightful cooking class !! Plenty of wine was also included ! If you enjoy cooking/food and are in Rome you have to make it to Chef Alessandri’s class !!!

Federico is good and speaks well in English. We had fun and the market in Rome is very characteristic and then we went back to prepare food in its wonderful place. We recommend it to everyone and we will return to Federico on our next trip to Rome!

oon as I will have a chance I would like to be Federico’s student again. This time I have gone with some friends and their liveliness did contribute to make the day an entertaining one, however next time I will choose a different individual course to focus only on cuisine.

    Great adventure for Foodies
After much research on TripAdvisor, I decided upon this cooking class to attend during my time in Rome. A decision I do not regret! Chef Alessandri is a very knowledgeable and charismatic man whose passion for food and teaching was a joy to experience! The adventure began with a walking trip to the Campo di Fiori, a local cheese shop, and butcher shop, where we selected the freshest ingredients to prepare in class at the chef’s studio kitchen. A totally hands on class, we, as students, chopped and peeled vegetables as well as prepared and shaped pasta dough by hand! The course consisted of an egg pasta (in the “mother” sauce (tomato)), a semolina pasta (in a broccoli, goat cheese cream sauce), and potato gnocchi (with sweet Gorgonzola, walnuts, and persimmons). We also prepared a chicken dish in a lemon cream sauce . During this time, the wine poured freely! We also were fortunate enough to start with a tasting of olive oil that the chef himself makes and bottles in Umbria. The day ended with a dessert of strawberries macerated in white wine, sugar, and mint! I walked away full and with a confidence that I could recreate the dishes back in Texas. I highly recommend this class, a must do for the cooking enthusiast!

We were very excited to join this tour, we were even there waiting at 9:15. However, we couldn't find the guide. We called and texted you from two numbers, no response. We asked around us, correct location but no guide. At 10am (30m after start) our tour guide respond to our texts and calls, he mentioned that we could join them late in the kitchen. However before I could even get back to him, he immediately got very disrespectful when I missed his first phone call back to me. He quickly started name calling, and became very rude and patronizing. We no longer felt safe going anywhere with him, so we decided to find something else to do. Do yourself a favor and avoid this experience. If I can add pictures, I will attach our conversation. Might be helpful if they paid attention to messages and calls around meetup time.
Almost $300 for two people.. However I would much prefer loosing money over putting ourselves in a dangerous position with someone who is being unnecessarily confrontational.

Our trips to Rome won’t be the same without Federico cookery course. It has become a milestone and for my third trip to Rome this has been the third cookery lesson. Every time different recipes, I really recommend it to everybody.

We started immediately when we arrived even we were that 20 minutes early and he just said “no problem we can do an extra pasta”We went to the market and he explained what we needed and why. The cooking was fun for everyone and it was just amazing how he cooked. He didn’t cook with standard timing, but with his nose and mouth. This cooking class is a pleasure for young and old, experienced and beginner. He explained every step, and no it was not boring it was with humor and passion. His pasta sorentina is the best pasta I ever ate. If you want to learn how to make real Italian food this is the perfect place.

Originally, I booked this class for a teacher friend and I. We were staying 5 days in Rome and I always take a cooking class wherever I go now.

The class was short two people so Federico asked if we would be willing to come to Umbria for an on site course. I was game but after I saw the photos on their site I decided to surprise my friend. It’s always good to get out of the city and enjoy a different landscape.

The cooking is of course essential but what this offered our trip was a whole day of beautiful landscape, tour, culinary experience and spending time with people who are not only doing what they love but love the life that they have built for themselves.

They are so excited to share it with the world and I honestly ready to go back again and stay for a few days this time.

This part of your trip will be the creative highlight everyone hopes their vacation has but seldom does.

Chef Alessandri is passionate about cooking and makes this class interesting, informative and fun. He's a great communicator and makes high level cooking accessible to everyone. We felt at ease and thoroughly enjoyed the class. He is very generous with his time and his knowledge.

Its a great activity to explore a different facet of Rome culture. I highly recommend this for anyone with a love of cooking. We can't wait to try the pastas and sauces at home.

The best cooking school experience we have had EVER - and we have done many including Tuscany! Chef Federico Alessandri, trained under Michelin rated chefs. He is not only an amazing and creative chef, he explains not just the what and the how, but the WHY behind each step of his recipes which helps you more deeply understand. And to top it off, he is hysterically funny and engages everyone in a very personalized way, making you feel competent and an important part of the process. Loved our entire day of learning to make from scratch 3 different types of pasta, mother tomato sauce - and then eating everything at the end. Highly, highly recommend this experience if you are in Rome. It was our trip highlight!

An all around fantastic cooking and learning environment and experience! Chef Federico was warm and welcoming from the moment we gathered to start the day by shopping for our ingredients at Campo de forio. After that a short walk to the kitchen/class studio for a fun and delicious day of learning wonderful tips, prepping our meal and eating it. The chef and his assistant were remarkable as he brought seven strangers together in the beginning, and we all left is better inform cooks to share the wonderful afternoon in Rome together! It does not get any better.

This was an excellent all day cooking class. We learned so much, how to prepare artichokes, and plate the dishes, discussed the flavors, improvising with cooking, made the different sauces and three different pastas. The food was amazing. I have a new appreciation for the work and skill it takes to make a delicious five star meal. We will surely use what we learned here in our everyday cooking. This is one of the best meals we had on our trip to Rome. Chef Alessandri and his wife Luisa gave us an amazing overall experience, they were welcoming, friendly and made us feel comfortable. My adult son enjoys cooking so I thought it would be fun to do a cooking class with him and his girlfriend while we were in Rome. Unfortunately Chef's class was not available at that location but he offered the class at his location in the Umbria region and we made the leap to go out there, we're glad we did. The drive was surprisingly easy albeit a little long and we got to see the beautiful countryside and their beautiful home. The less than stellar review is due to change in location, and dates from the original booking, and the mixup with arriving at the final destination. Luckily we were not too far off and we left with enough time to contact chef and he led us the correct way. This excursion was a fun and educational way to start our trip to Rome. Salute!

My husband booked this cooking class for our honeymoon and it was 100% one of the greatest memories and highlights of our entire trip! The chef starts off by asking you what you want to make for your meal, which I thought was AMAZING because he gladly accommodates your dietary preferences (for example, I do not eat shellfish). It was wonderful to have the freedom to pick meals we wanted to try to recreate at home (for example, gnocchi with pesto) and not be locked into some pre-fixe menu with dishes you don't favor. He then takes you through the local markets to shop for the fresh ingredients to your meal. It gives you a sense of what it would be like to live locally, which was fun. Then we went to his beautiful private kitchen were we cooked, laughed, learned, ate and drank wine all day! It was truly incredible! The chef is incredibly passionate about food and beyond talented. He takes the time to really teach and his cooking is phenomenal. Most delicious tomato sauce I have ever had in my life (sorry Mom - love you the most)! Five stars! We have recommended this experience to all of our friends and family traveling to Rome.
