- B6552ACpath0 contributionsFood tour walking through RomeLoved our food tour with Luca! He did a fabulous job! I would highly recommends this for your Rome visit! We ate cheese appetizers, pizza, pasta, and gelato. All were delicious!Written September 11, 2024
- B1924QXpatricias0 contributionsDelicious welcome to RomeWe ate so much and it was all delicious! Lily gave a fun and interesting tour. Favorite tastings included thin-crust pizza, appetizers in the Jewish Ghetto, and cacciatore e Pepe in Trastevere. Highly recommend!Written September 3, 2024
- jillmW6519NC0 contributionsGreat food introduced by SilviaOur guide Silvia was the best - she took the time to explain the history of the places we went to and the food she introduced us to was amazing! She answered all of our questions and had a warm personality that helped us meld as a group. Lots of laughs and lots of tasty food! A full evening!Written September 3, 2024
- aarong6720 contributionsDelightful and fun: food and historyWe had a great experience. Our guide, Chiara, was wonderful, well-informed, charming, and accommodating. The tour covered several interesting neighborhoods and a variety of Roman cuisines, including local pizza, cured meats and cheeses, and, of course, pasta and gelato! We had more than enough to eat and got to experience some small part of Roman culture up close and personally. Strongly recommend. We walked just under two miles in total, but with many stops along the way.Written August 29, 2024
- zoeyg3080 contributionsGreat food tour! Pizza, Pasta, Cheese, Gelato, Wine - What more could you need?Mariel was amazing. We had a lovely stroll through Campo de Fiori, the Ghetto and ended in Trastevere. It was a leisurely stroll - absolutely nothing strenuous and enough time to digest a bit in between VERY large tastes. This was breakfast and lunch for us on our tour day! Mariel pointed out the relevant sites, had stories to tell, and was such a gracious guide. The food was fantastic and so interesting to learn the stories behind what we were tasting. She gave us pointers on how to spot tourist traps, redirected us on a few of our ideas for future dinners, and gave us some lovely recommendations. Would HIGHLY recommend this tour and Mariel in particular. She also managed to get us out of the heat into air conditioning several times as well!Written August 28, 2024
- paromab320 contributionsExploring Rome through your stomach! We started our trip in Rome with the food tour of campo di fiori, Jewish quarter, and trastevere. Our guide Federica was just perfect. She not only took us to the most local joints, but also shared about the history of the locality and what influenced the culinary tradition of the area. It was also a great way to explore the neighbourhoods in Rome which you otherwise might miss if only spending time in the historic centre. The tour covers the famous pastas of Rome (the fab 4) and icons like supli, but also lesser known (at least lesser known to our group) street foods like montanare and fried zucchini blossoms! We appreciated the tips that Federica also shared about identifying a truly local place vs tourist traps. There’s A LOT of food to eat so highly recommend skipping lunch if you’re doing an evening tour (ours was at 5:30 pm). There’s also wine/beer at ALL stops so you might want to pace yourself.Written August 21, 2024
- 609jeanninew0 contributionsFantastic food & guide!Isabella was our tour guide and she was amazing! Very knowledgeable, so very pleasant - she made the experience so enjoyable. The food was amazing and we had a great variety. One of our favorite tours!Written August 4, 2024
- HopeLRose0 contributions100% recommend! Great way to spend an eveningFantastic! Perfect way to spend our first evening in Rome. Natasha was so knowledgeable about the area, and gave us great tips on what to look for when ordering food. Everything we ate was yummy.Written July 23, 2024
- ReinaRivero0 contributionsCamilla was amazing!Camilla was an incredible guide. The tour takes you through three separate neighborhoods. Not only do you get to try amazing food, but you get to learn a lot of history along the way, and it wasn’t boring for a second. Camila was animated and was a pleasure to speak with. There was only one stop on the tour that I didn’t absolutely love, and that’s OK because I’m trying new things! Overall, I would rate this tour a 100/10! If I come back to Rome, I will book with Gourmetaly again.Written July 11, 2024
- Lesleevancouver0 contributionsSee Trastavere and stop at delightful testuarqnts and barsA very fun and worthwhile experience. Our guide was great, there wasn’t too much walking but we got to be guided through areas we wouldn’t have discovered.Written July 10, 2024
- tierneybb0 contributionsMust doOur tour guide Luca was the best! This was probably one of our favorite activities of our trip to Rome. It was at a slower pace. We took our time walking through the streets and at the food venues. The food and wine were excellent! We just walked by Campo de Fiore but we didn't stop in the market. We enjoyed the beauty of the city and it's history and culture. It was a great experience! Of note: our family included 2 teenagers, two middle aged adults and 2 senior citizens and we all had a fantastic experience!Written July 9, 2024
- Diamond Bill D0 contributionsNeighborhoods we saw and E.Our guide, Federica was very knowledgeable and led a great tour. We recommend her to future tour groups.the food and wine were very good as was seeing parts of Roman neighborhoods we would not have seen otherwise.Written July 8, 2024
- Bayliving0 contributionsExceeded expectations!!Wow!! This tour exceeded all our expectations! Camila was a great guide as she took us through the labyrinth of the Jewish ghetto, tasting delicious foods and wine along the way. The food was much better than we anticipated. The highlights were all we learned about this and the surrounding neighborhoods. We were taken off the beaten path and discovered many unknowns. Thank you Camila for making a difference in our experience. Salute!Written June 29, 2024
- allies3640 contributionsDo This Tour Right When You Arrive! At first, I was skeptical about paying more than €100 for a food tour but this was well worth the price! It was so educational and the food was delicious. The best part was learning how to determine which restaurants/shops are the most authentic, which is why I suggest doing this early-on in your trip. We learned other helpful things too like typical meal times, how to eat bread with dinner and how to order pizza, to name a few. Our guide, Lisa, also provided a nice lesson on the history of the Jewish Ghetto. If you’re on the fence, DO IT!Written June 25, 2024
- 244madisonm0 contributionsWonderful activityGloria did an amazing job. She was very knowledgeable about the food and the cultural context around the food which was really nice. I would say, make sure you show up hungry because you definitely are going to eat!Written June 24, 2024

We had a lovely afternoon on our private food tour with Daniela of Gourmetaly. We visited food venues and restaurants and sampled cheeses, pizza, pasta, fried zucchini flowers, gelato and more. Daniela met the food preferences of our group which included meat-eaters and vegetarians.
In addition, Daniela talked to us about the history of the different areas we visited.
We only had a few days in Rome and this tour gave us the opportunity to try foods and places that we would not have found on our own.

This was hands down the best tour I have ever received. I learned so many cool trivia topics like why a Margarita pizza is called "Margarita" and as for the Jewish ghetto I had read about it before but did not understand anything until this tour. The food at every place was amazing and the cost for what we got was wonderfully inexpensive. Our tour guide was lovely and I just can not rave enough about this tour.

Tour guide was very nice, but we couldn’t understand her very broken English with heavy Italian accent. We did not find the pasta to be cooked well. Pizza was just okay. We love food yours and have never been disappointed until this one

My wife and I took this incredible walking Food Tour through Rome with Benedetta, and she was absolutely fantastic. She was extremely energetic, had incredible knowledge about the area, the restaurants, and even any other question we asked about Rome. The food was incredible, the neighborhoods were fascinating, and I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants an in-depth knowledge about Rome and its history.

It was the best! Gianni was so knowledgeable and informative.
He taught us how a native Roman orders pizza, what the difference is between
a forno, trattoria, taverna and osteria. He Explained why and when the Jewish ghetto
was created and taught us how to drink from one of the public fountains. There is a trick to it! To find out what it is - go on his food tour. The best!

If you are looking for a tour of the typical spaghetti and meatballs, this is not your tour. However, if you are looking for what the locals eat and some insight into how to prepare it, this is the tour for you! From authentic Roman Pizza to Fried Asparagus, and some authentic Roman Gelato, this tour has all the delicacies your tastebuds crave on a trip to Rome. Frederica made us feel like locals and helped us to feel like locals. Insider baseball abounded with food insights, stories, and recipes, and even special offers. This tour is a fantastic way to get all the insight you need into Roman cuisine.

We enjoyed meeting other people and getting to know them. We enjoyed walking through the neighborhoods. The guide was sweet but did not really give us any information about the 3 neighborhoods. The food was not very good. We felt the excursion was over priced and not worth the money.

It was a wonderful tour led by passionate food tour guide Luka with his amazing story telling and great selection of appetisers, local specialties from authentic family run restaurants. While sampling tasty specialities, we walked through the bylanes seeped with history. Highly recommended tour if you want a combination of both culture and food.

Our tour was amazing. Our guide, Camilla, was outstanding, and she truly allowed us to experience traditional Roman cuisine. Her tips and tricks for identifying authentic Italian food, as well as traditions that are practiced when eating were appreciated. She is by far the best tour guide we experienced in Rome, and she gave us the opportunity to learn so much!
