I took a 3 hour, magnificent tour. The driver gets you very close so you can get out and take photos then return to the elegant car. My driver was Mario, a dignified but warm and kind man. We adored him so much, I requested him for my return to the airport when headed home. I saw SO many things I never knew were there. All the major tourist places, but even more of the tiny streets and real Rome. I cannot emphasize how prompt, accommodating and genuinely friendly and kind Mario was, and yet still a dignified and courtly mannered gentleman. You also cannot find a better price. 30 euros per hour. You can even arrange to stop for lunch at a true Italian restaurant...not the touristy ones. My brother in law is remaining in Rome for a few months and will receive mire guests. He plans to use Dinos service many times. Mario got me to the airport, too, when I left, and all but carried me to the desk, after putting my luggage on the cart. But to see Rome. Please be kind to yourself. Call Dinos and ask for Mario. He will remain a favorite memory of mine, after such a brilliant tour. I chose 3 hours but you can get as many hours as you request. I suggest 3, for your first time. When you go, tell Mario the 80 year old Filomena misses him and would wish to tour more, with him.

We booked our service from the US, the driver was on time waiting for us. Spoke English, was pleasant and well informed and tried to make our one day at Rome a very good one. He was sensitive to our health limitations and always willing to please. We strongly recommend the use of this service when in Rome.

We had prearranged to have a car service collect us at Rome airport. Our driver was a no show! We kept looking for our name on a placard, but to no avail! After repeated calls to car company and being told they were "coming," my husband went outside and found Marco, a cab driver with a big new Mercedes van suitable for up to seven adults. Marco drove us to our Rome apartment, and we liked him so well, we asked if he could drive us to Civitevecchia for our cruise three days later. His English is good, his cab is clean, and his rates were fair. After 3 nights in Rome, Marco met us at our apartment - even arrived early! He brought us candy and sodas for the trip to the port. He had the requisite authorizations to be able to enter the port and drive right up to the ship. So, if you are going to Rome, I cannot recommend Marco more highly. His phone number is 338-976-8562. On the way to the port, he took us to a View spot if Rome. I highly recommend him!!!

Five in family used cabs frequently to tour sites. Convenient, safe, reasonable when you consider fares for bus/subway, and safety factor of known hot spots for pickpockets. Most cabs have seating for four persons, so be sure to mention need cab for Five, or more before calling cab. Use sanctioned white cabs to avoid gypsy cabs. Remember if you call for a cab he may start his meter from start point to your location. If possible go to TAXI stands near most tourist sites for cab fares start point. This was a great way and convenient transportation means.
