- Goannac00Awesome Trastevere & surrounds food tourAwesome food tour with Dario! We loved the integration of food, history and culture shared through Dario’s great storytelling and humour! Totally recommend this tour
- Pyewacket200Perfect tourSylvia was on time. She spoke both Italian and English which was perfect for our group. She was friendly and quite knowledgeable and researched information on her tablet. We were very happy with her. Sylvia era perfetta. Lei parla inglesi ed italianio. Lei sa motto cose e a fato on buon lavoro con noi - con tutti i nostri domande. Molto gentile.
- H9412UWdaniellev00Wonderful Vatican by Night TourI took the Vatican by Night Tour in August 2023 with my two sons, aged 19 and 22. Laura was our wonderful, knowledgeable tour guide for the evening. The tour was perfectly paced, Laura stopping for extra attention in the pieces we found most interesting. The evening tour was special with fewer crowding and a more enjoyable pace and visit. I highly recommend Joy of Rome and will use them for our next visit!
- basedrum77700Awesome Awesome Awesome for the Mythology fan (9yo son)We did the tour for Ancient Roman/Greek mythology at the Capitoline Museum for my son who is a HUGE fan of the books and mythology. Grace was PHENOMENAL at this tour. My son and her would walk through the halls and talk about the different gods and their connection to the Mythology but also their connection to the current beliefs and their place in the history of the city. They did the questionaire about the Mythology and there was a color page attachment as well which my son did later and loved. It was truly one of the best experiences we had in our long trip to Europe (16 days). I cannot overstate how awesome this tour was. Absolutely fantastic. Don't hesitate to book this.
- M8941NTbrianb00Great Vatican tour for our kid! This tour was one of the highlights of our stay in Rome. Our guide Grace designed the tour for our 9-year old daughter, and she loved the experience! At the same time, our guide answered questions that I had about the art that helped enrich the experience for me too. If I went back to Rome I would certainly book another tour with this company.
- TamaraTownsPozorski00Fabulous tour for ALL ages, but especially groups with kidsThis was an EXCELLENT TOUR...I can't recommend it enough. The Vatical Museums is such a huge place and can be overwhelming if you try to do it on your own, but with this private guide it was an enjoyable and informative tour. It was very busy the day that we were there and the lines to get in were VERY long, so doing the skip the line entry really helped to keep all of us from melting down. Our fantastic guide had nice books and visual aids to help our 7 year old son learn more about the Vatican museums and the Sistine Chapel. She was very patient with all of us and our various ages/interest levels, and we ALL learned a lot and and ALL really enjoyed our guide. The length of the tour was great for all of us to learn a lot, but wasn't so long that we were bored.
- Trotfam00Great family tour of the Vatican! Our guide Francesca did a wonderful job taking us around the Vatican Museums. She made the tour enjoyable and educational (but just the right amount of educational or our kids (age 9 and 12) most certainly would have complained). We were very happy to have Francesca lead us on the private tour given how crowded the Vatican Museums are; otherwise, it might have felt overwhelming for the kids. We did a few different family-oriented private tours during our trip with other guides and Francesca was definitely the kids' favourite.
- jareds46900Amazing 3 tours in 2 days!We booked three wonderful tours with Joy of Rome, and Serena was our guide for all three tours including Rome walking tour, Vatican, skip the line tour, and Colosseum tour. She is a wealth of knowledge, super friendly and personable, also flexible with schedule and attentive with all questions. Would highly recommend!
- Curiosity5623857988700Capitoline Museum with AriannaArianna is everything wonderful about Italy--warm, caring, proud, and very knowledgable about Roman and Italian history. Our tour of the Capitoline museum was the high point of our visit to Rome.
- TammyLynnKY00Vatican the easy waySuch a fabulous tour. Excellent way to hear about the Vatican and skip very long lines . Our guide was knowledgeable and entertaining. Marta really knows her business and we highly recommend this professional service
- elizabetha4000A memorable bucket list trip for my dadThis was my second tour with Joy of Rome and I personally requested Francesca for the second time (we had a family tour of the Vatican and Colosseum with her a year ago)… it was my father’s first trip to Rome and his lifelong dream to see the Colosseum. He asked me to give her 10 stars he loved it so much. Francesca made the tour extra special for him. I can’t thank Joy of Rome enough for making this memory so special for my father.
- marinaaW3811BD00Review of Villa Farnesina TourFrancesca and the Joy of Rome team gave us a fantastic tour of Villa Farnesina and have been incredibly helpful. We highly reccommend!
- marikaa97400Amazing tours in Rome with Joy of RomeWhere to start :-) Joy of Rome was an amazing experience for our family. We spent 5 days in Rome and we had 6 different tours with different guides. All of them were spectacular: Serena, Maria Grazia, and Francesca (1 and 2) were extremely knowledgeable, very kind, patient and most of all very funny and entertaining. We could have not been more lucky. We enjoyed our tours but most of all we learned so much. All the guides of Joy of Rome treated us like family and not just clients, because they honestly love what they do. They went above and beyond to teach us and share with us as much as they could about Rome. I would highly recommend this agency to discover this wonderful city. PS: I personally recommend the Musei Capitolini tour. It is a not so well known museum but absolutely magical, full of history and myths. Don't miss it when you are in Rome. :-)
- wesmh8800Vatican tour with PhD art historianFrancesca was our guide on the Vatican museums and oh my! She is so wonderful. It felt like a dear friend was walking us through the museum. With her PhD in art history, and particularly her dissertation on the rivalry between Michelangelo and Raphael, she had a unique knowledge set that gave the tour life. We never felt any rush from Francesca, and in fact she told us to take our time in a number of places. She answered all of our questions with enthusiasm. My friend and I had the best time on this tour. Book it and ask for Francesca, you won't regret it!
- Amanda H00Book it!Great tour - for all ages 10-75. We all learned a lot. Francesca was kind, engaging, and knowledgeable. It was great being able to ask questions and follow along easier than a large group.

I booked a private tour of the "Colosseum" for my son (7 y.o.) and I. Our guide, Maria Grazia, did a wonderful job engaging with my son and providing us with plenty of interesting information. The tour was really well planned and I would recommend it to everyone who is looking for a fun but educational activity in Rome. Our guide was very knowledgeable, fun, kind and entertaining. We booked out tour directly by contacting by email the organization. They were extremely prompt in replying to any questions we had and the booking process was very smooth. We will book other tours with Joy of Rome when we will visit Rome again.Thank you for the wonderful tour!

I would highly recommend Joy of Rome. The whole experience from booking the tickets by email to being guided to the meeting point to the tour itself was faultless.
I went with my 7-year old daughter who by 15h30, when our tour started, was pretty tired after a whole day of walking. But Alessandra, our guide, had enough spark, passion and interesting facts to keep my daughter interested throughout!
Alessandra and her guided tour were pure Joy!!!!

We had the pleasure of doing a tour with Franchesca and she was amazing. I had 4 kids ranging in ages from 11-16. She had such a great energy the entire time that the kids were engaged and enjoyed learning interesting facts and history. Definitely recommend!

This was a wonderful experience with Maria Libera. We had a tour of Colloseum and cant be a better experience. Our kids aged 8 and 10 have enjoyed the journey and listen to Maria with full interest and while leaving with great experience. Tickets/ skip the line was arranged by Maria and we haven’t felt any burden even it was one if the crowded times. The visit is memorable for all of us. Maria is more than a guide, passionate about what she is doing and this pays off by passing her positive energy to the kids. We strongly suggest this experience to the families with kids who are interested in having a journey to the past. Special thanks to Maria.

Our Joy of Rome tour was our favorite tour we did in Rome. Serena was our guide and not only was she informative, but kind and accommodating. She was excited to show us the history of her city. We had been traveling for a few weeks with 6 adults and our 6 month old daughter. By the time we got to Rome we were hot, tired and not very excited about spending another day sweating amongst hundreds of tourists trying to see some old rocks. Well… Serena changed our minds about Rome! I felt like I actually learned the history of the coliseum. We could understand her. She made sure we had a break and stayed together. Also, Joy of Rome tours accommodated us last minute and helped us find a tour that worked for us. They were responsive and helpful. Great overall experience!!!!

We booked the family tour of the colloseum, Illaria was our guide and we were not disappointed. For 3 hours not only were my sons (5 & 8) engaged throughout, it was fun, informative and there were a lot of questions that needed answering (by Illaria) so a lot of patience was required. Even my husband and I walked away knowing so much more! Grazie Illaria for a wonderful, informative afternoon!

I want to recognize the great work Grace and Francesca did with my family during the Colosseum and Vatican experience. They kept the attention of my kids all the time with very interested descriptions about the attractions. Highly recommended both of them if you want your family to learn a lot with amazing tour guides!

We were lucky enough to have Francesca as our guide. Our first full day in rome, we showed up having just walked a mile in 90+ degree heat with my wife and daughter who was understandably a little cranky. Francesca lifted our daughters spirits in no time and from there it was on to a wonderful tour of the colosseum. Francesca connected with our daughter, personalized the tour and most importantly made it fun.
We’ve done a number of tours in Rome during our latest trip and this stands out as easily the best. Definitely do it if you have kids!

Loved this tour! Maria was AMAZING with my two boys (5.5 and 8 yrs) while touring the Colosseum in August. They are both shy, she was caring and kept them engaged the whole time. My husband and I learned so much too. Maria had extensive knowledge about the Colosseum and it's history. She also had an iPad with pictures to help the kids better understand what the Colosseum was like during that time. She gave some cool facts that the boys like to share with everyone. I would highly recommend the Joy of Rome and Maria. Also, being August and coming during a really busy time the Joy of Rome was really easy to work with and were very responsive with emails.

Thanks to Francesca, our Colosseum tour was the highlight of our Rome trip. She kept our young boys (6 and 8) engaged and focused. The Colosseum is a huge place and the kids often got distracted but Francesca had no problems getting their attention back. She patiently answered their many questions (including random ones totally unrelated to Rome). She answered many of the adult questions too, satisfying our curiosity. Because of her, we the parents, managed to admire the majesty of the Colosseum.
Without her, I'm sure the boys would have gotten bored quickly and the adults, having to keep a constant eye on them amidst the crowd, wouldn't have had such an enjoyable experience.
Booking with Joy of Rome tours was easy and fuss free. They answered all questions promptly via email.
