About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- R2135XQsallys0 contributionsExcellent day!Our tour was delightful, full of informative history and time to reflect on the sights. Our guide Severino was helpful in every way and we would take another tour like this any time!Written September 29, 2024
- Katharina d0 contributionsMixed feelings but nevertheless an interesting dayLet’s say the region is extremely crowded during the month of August, if you can avoid this period do. But we knew what we were getting ourselves into. Driver and travel companion provided by the company were very nice and very helpful, a long day for them as well! The experience in itself was = the visit of Pompeii was somehow disappointing not just because of the crowd. The official guide was very nice. I think probably one of the oldest ones on spot, a relic 😂 but if you are interested in a more in-depth discovery, probably not the way to go. Mostly things were named, pointed out to us, but no in depth explanation was given. It sounded a bit staged, learned by heart and no real possibility to ask questions even if we were only 6 . I booked experiences via other companies, but I must admit on a completely private tour basis that were, more satisfying. But even in Pompei we saw guides and listened in on things that were said next to us that were more energetic entertaining and deep. Restaurant suggestion in Positano was ok, place overpriced and touristy but they all are, a part if you stay higher up. We were already happy to get a table kindly arranged by our help/driver . Altogether it’s nice for a first discovery , which it was for my son but not overwhelming and if you have been there before and live history which is my case slightly disappointing.Written September 1, 2024
- Francis P0 contributionsInspiring Day OutA big Thank You to our guide Antonetta with Pedro for a great day touring us and ofcourse Mr.Hector for the marvelous insights about Pompeii which inspite his speed was too much to see in one afternoon... but we loved it. Keep it up. Thank you all again. FrancisWritten August 30, 2024
- Nora M0 contributionsLoved it... very niceOur guide, Juliana and our driver, were on time to take us on a very smooth ride to the coast with a stop at Pompeii. We had a very good tour with Miguel in Pompeii. He is very knowledgeable. And them a marvelous lunch in Positano an another stop ay Amalfi. Was great. We will do it again with them next time we ate in RomeWritten August 27, 2024
- riabu790 contributionsMust do especially for first timersThe private day tour was amazing and I was so glad that we chose this particular tour by Welcome Italy. We were picked up at our accommodation and was brought for breakfast before starting our journey to Pompeii. Our host was warm and friendly and ensured we were comfortable thru out our entire journey, explaining the history of the beautiful region during our drive. Our driver was a professional with the right driving skills especially along the tricky corners of the Amalfi Coast. Vehicle was comfortable to fit all 5 of us. Clean and well maintained vehicle ensured us of our safety as well. Carlo, our guide in Pompeii was equally fantastic - churning out facts non stop for 2 hours. Do note that it will actually take a full 3 days to cover the whole of Pompeii, so for this day tour we were brought to the highlights on the ancient ruin city. It is apparent from all the guides that were involved is truly passionate in what they do and this reflected thru out our entire day. We had fantastic weather on the day of our trip and that certainly made the tour even better. Amalfi Coast, Positano and Pompeii are sights not to be missed when in Italy. Thank you to everyone involved for ensuring our day tour was amazing. For anyone looking to choose a private tour, look no further, this is the one to choose.Written July 13, 2024
- michellekW7221BZ0 contributionsAvoid tours with Welcome ItalyThis is a very mixed review, with my rating being for the company overall. I would rate the company 1 ⭐️ even though our driver and tour assistant did a great job. Just 20 minutes into our drive from Rome to Pompeii our van had a rear tire blow out while driving in a highway on the outskirts of Rome. Our driver Roberto did an outstanding job of keeping control, and getting us to the side of the road safely. Our tour assistant JB escorted us to a safer location on the side of the highway behind a concrete barrier while we waited for help. Despite being only 20 minutes from Rome city center we were left standing on the side of the highway for 2 HOURS, then loaded back into the broken van while it was put on a flatbed tow truck and towed to a tire shop. We waited at a nearby cafe for it to be fixed. In total we waited 4 HOURS. While we understand that sometimes things just happen, I think the company should have a better plan for emergency situations, especially those that directly impact customer safety. Despite all of that our tour assistant JB remained calm and positive, he stayed with us throughout and kept us updated. When the tire was fixed we were told we could continue onto Pompeii and Amalfi for an abbreviated tour (We missed Positano entirely, and only had a one hour tour of Pompeii instead of the 2 hours scheduled and paid for). As this was our last day in Italy, we were so grateful to be able to see Amalfi and especially Pompeii, even if both were quite condensed. Roberto and JB were fantastic, and made every possible effort to salvage our day, and despite the unexpected delay we really did enjoy getting to see Amalfi and Pompeii. I messaged the company to request a partial refund for the missed portion of our tour, but that was denied and was told I should just be grateful that we got a partial tour. I would never book another tour with this company due to the owners handling of the situation.Written July 8, 2024
- LeslieFey0 contributionsFabulous DayFabulous tour. I wish we took the ferry over to Positano since the ride was very windy and I got kinda car sick, but it was worth it. My husband’s favorite part was Pompeii. Mine was Positano. The shops there are fabulous and the food was amazing.Written July 8, 2024
- Randy G0 contributionsWonderful trip with equally fantastic guidesWe scheduled this trip ahead of a cruise and we are sure glad we did. The guides went out of their way to give us so much information and really enhanced the trip. Our guide in Pompeii was exceptional. I would highly recommend this trip and it is worth the investment.Written July 2, 2024
- Gaby C0 contributionsCome prepared but don’t miss PositanoWe had a family discussion about what to rate this tour - the adults said 4 and the kids 3. I think because it is a long day and quite exhausting in the heat, without much free time. As adults we know this is to maximise the opportunity to see such an amazing part of Italy and with the knowledge that it’s quite a distance from Rome. Keep that in mind when booking this tour and be well rested. I can only imagine how exhausted the guide and driver must be by the end of the day. That said if you are in Rome and only have a spare day, you would be remiss to not get to the Amalfi Coast and Pompeii. A few disasters hit us along the way with left over coffee in the back of the van from another group covering my 12 year old after a sharp turn, the winding roads of the Amalfi making both teens sick and one vomit into a spare hat followed by a bad fall in Pompeii (probably from exhaustion). My tip, take travel pills, rest up and prepare. My daughter did say - why aren’t we staying in Positano - this place is amazing. Sorry to Hector our Pompeii guide that we were a bit shattered during his tour. His passion was obvious but sadly we had limited energy in the 35 degree heat!!Written July 2, 2024

They stopped by the rest stop for us for a quick breakfast. They were very accommodating and nice. We had a wonderful tour guide, Hector, who is a Naples native and has been giving tours since he was 18 years old. We enjoyed every last bit of this tour!Written June 20, 2024

- U834FZandrewb0 contributionsA wonderful day excursion from Rome.A wonderful tour with just one other couple. Maria was warm and a pleasure. In Assisi she handed over to a local guide who was very well informed. Assisi itself is brilliant. So beautiful. Such an oasis of calm, too, after a week in Rome. A highlight of our trip.Written June 1, 2024
- dagmcgrath0 contributionsA Day Spent in Tivoli. An Educational and Most Enjoyable Day.My spouse and I spent a fantastic day touring the ancient ruins of Hadrian’s Villa and the Stunning Villa and Gardens of Villa d’Este in Tivoli. We were met, early morning, at our hotel by Fabio (our guide for the day) and Adam (our driver who handled all our luggage and logistics). Our guide Fabio, an archeologist by training, spoke excellent English and was both extremely knowledgeable about the history of the Villas but also provided a very helpful primer & tutorial of the very impressive building and landscape architectural achievements at both sites. Fabio demonstrated deep expertise and passion for his subjects. While the scale and preservation of the almost two thousand year old ruins of Hadrian’s Villa were truly impressive, my spouse and I were even more captivated by the magnificent terraced gardens and numerous waterfalls at the Villa d’Este which were simply stunning. We could have spent the whole afternoon exploring the house and gardens. One note of caution that I would note is the steepness of the gardens at Villa d’Este requires you to be in reasonably good level of fitness to navigate the descent down into the gardens and back up to the Villa. At the end of the tour, we were dropped back to the train station in Rome for the next part of our trip (which was to Florence). It was an educational and most enjoyable day!Written April 26, 2024

Meh. It was okay. The overall tour guide was a little creepy and, considering we only went into one actual place that you had to pay for, the cost seemed a little high for what you got. The information he gave us seemed off the cuff most of the time. We picked up a historian guide in Florence, who was very knowledgeable, but we only had him for a short time. Would've been better if he were the guide throughout.

Dear customer, thank you for your feedback.
however we cannot understand what you mean.
maybe we can clarify your doubts better.
The trip you have purchased includes the following services:
- Tour assistant for the whole trip
- return transport by minivan de luxe
- 2 hour drive to Florence
- Accademia gallery entrance
The trip includes a stop in Pisa where you can admire the leaning tower, the basilica, the baptistery. There is no guide here.
our assistant will give you all the information to be able to visit these monuments independently and leave after 1 hour for Florence.
The tour assistant is a travel companion, I look forward to your needs and to give you all the necessary information about the tour.
as described in the program, the guide service is only in Florence.
For the cost of the service you are obviously not well informed about the prices of the services.
Our assistants accompanying the tour are professional and highly trained. they cannot replace a guide, their job is to make the trip enjoyable and meet your needs.

As with all long day trips, we seemed to spend more time in our tour bus than at the actual sites. So it would have been better if we had a little more commentary on the way. Did not have to be for the whole three hours but something to get us into the mood for the history of Pisa and Florence would have been helpful. Probably did not help that our van seemed not to be set up for amplified commentary.
Commentary on the ground at Pisa and Florence, the latter with a local, was good.
Also, we were supposed to be a small group of six but our guide was also managing another group so we were twice as large as expected. May have been due to staff shortages but that was not made clear.

Cannot recommend this tour highly enough. Slight changes to tour occurred in our favour but it was communicated excellently, with no inconvenience to the tour. Rashi our guide was the perfect host being helpful, informative and overall faultless. The driver for the day was a perfect gentleman and professional. The tour packed a lot in the short amount of time with a real flavour of Pisa and Florence. Overall the small intimate party was perfect as a family group, and the guide around Florence was cheerful, attentive and informative. Would highly recommend this tour. Thank you to all the team.

Took this trip on Dec 4th with my best friend. Max was an excellent driver and had wonderful stories to share. JB, our guide, was an absoluuute blast. He was so knowledgeable and funny. Definately a great personality to have has a guide. It didnt feel like i went on a boring educational tour, it felt more like i went with another friend. He definately has a great personality and if you're lucky enough to have him as a guide you will definately have fun too. I hope they see this review!
On a side note I would have been open to paying more if the trip was via the fast train vs a vehicle the whole way. That way wouldve been able to spend more time in the actual cities vs IN the car!
But thanks to both the guides and the company for a good time anyway!

Dear customer, thank you for your valuable review.
We are pleased that you appreciated the service of our collaborators who are all highly trained and customer-oriented professionals.
The tour of Florence and Pisa is very long, covering 800 km but it would not be possible to do it by fast train because Pisa is on another travel line.
We thank you for being a guest of our services and we hope to have you again with us on your next trip to Italy.

This tour was just perfect! Our 3 person family were the only guests on our tour making it private. We only had the one day to see as much as possible before leaving. This tour enabled that, with Pisa and Florence! Kid got to see the leaning tower and mom got to see the statue of David. Throw in an authentic Italian restaurant for lunch and it was perfect! Theresa was very knowledgeable and easy to converse with. Giovanni, the guide in Florence, knew so much about everything it was great. Our driver Valerio, made great time everywhere and it was nice having a tour guide who didn't also have to focus on driving. Would definitely book again!

Was a good trip to see sights we couldn’t get to without a car. Be prepared for a long car ride, about 3.5 hrs. About 40 mins in they stopped for breakfast and a bathroom break, which was great since we left the hotel prior to breakfast. Pisa was a quick stop, maybe 45-60 mins? Would have rather went up into the Leaning Tower instead of the church though. Then it was off to Florence, which was about an hr - 1.5 hr drive. We stopped for lunch & a tour. The Statue of David was outstanding to see! Our tour guide, Angela & driver, Roberto, were excellent! Would recommend this trip.

I had the best experience with this tour in Italy. The lady, Rashi and the Gentleman who was driving were very professional and kind. Their welcoming attitude made us so comfortable that we thought we are going on a tour with our family. We have enough time for shopping, eating and visiting the places we supposed to. Very knowledgeable tour leader and very friendly team. The restaurant they offered to us was amazing with beautiful atmosphere. I hundred percent recommend this tour to all of my friends.

Best decision to book this tour instead of taking the train! It was so much easier to see all the sites with a tour guide and car, and a lot faster. I highly recommend if you are short on time and are traveling with kids. Absolutely loved this!

It is best to call your tour vendor or agent. But from what I was told the tours are based on a minimum number of people i.e. x amount per person for a minimum of 6 people. It is helpful to contact the local tour provider also. Good luck.
