Private Tour: Amalfi Coast and Pompeii Day Trip from Rome
Take a break from the bustling energy of Rome visit two of southern Italy’s UNESCO-listed, must-see destinations on a private, guided day trip. Visit the fascinating ruins of Pompeii, where you can walk through an ancient city frozen in time by the 79 AD eruption of Mount Vesuvius. Continue on to the spectacularly scenic Amalfi Coast, stopping for lunch with a view in the picturesque fishing village of Positano. Enjoy free time to explore and browse unique handmade shops in Positano and the neighboring town of Amalfi.
What to Expect

Start your day with a pickup from your central Rome hotel, and relax on the journey south to Pompeii. After a quick stop on the freeway for breakfast, arrive at the Pompeii archaeological site to meet your official private guide and explore the remains of the remarkable Roman city.

Learn about daily life and culture in the city before Mt. Vesuvius’ destructive eruption, and check out all the key sights. Highlights include the Macellum food market, the thermal baths, dining areas, and the homes of the Roman elite.

Bid your Pompeii guide goodbye, and continue to the Amalfi Coast for lunch and free time in Positano. Then it’s time for one last stop in the town of Amalfi to sample limoncello and learn about the local production of ceramics. Travel back to Rome, where you’ll arrive in the evening.

Please note: A minimum of two people per booking is required.

I noticed that too. It depends on how many people go. We were the only ones so we paid 414 per person. But it was worth it for us.
