So fabulous! Our guide was Claudio and he was amazing. The food was delicious with the added bonus of a knowledgeable, friendly and charismatic guide. Both my partner and myself had an incredible time, we honestly could not recommend this tour highly enough - it was great value for money and seeing some of the less 'touristy' areas of the city was one of the highlights of our trip. If I could rate our experience higher than five stars I would.

Marielle was our tour guide and she was such a great ambassador of the food and culture in the area. We got lucky that the weather was nice, it was a few hours of walking outdoors between Campo di Fiore with the outdoor market, a few eateries, the Jewish district, and it’s good that we were walking because there was no shortage of food. Everything we tasted was absolutely delicious and it was so lovely to hear about the history of the food, and the history of this corner of the city. Would highly recommend for anyone really interested in food with an extra day. Thank you Marielle!

The Small Group Food Tour in Rome was fantastic. Every stop we made our wonderful guide explained the history of everything we were tasting. The first stop was pizza, then we stopped in a Farmers Market, then to a deli for cheese and salami, the Jewish Quarter for Fried Artichokes and Rice Balls, a restaurant in Travestere for pasta and finally, gelato. Along the way she explained several historical buildings and neighborhoods to us. It was fantastic and I would highly recommend this to anyone who at traveling to Rome.

What a great way to discover a part of Rome
that have never been before. Our guide,
Claudio was fun and very informative. He did
a wonderful job explaining all of the various
foods and local traditions. He was able to
keep us all together as we sampled the most
delicious Roman style pizza in Campo de Fiori
and explain the market and the unique pizza
qualities and styles. We traveled through the
Jewish Ghetto and learned about it's existence
as well as sampled some more amazing dishes
and wine. We visited a salumeri and sampled
local cheeses and meats and finished up in
Trastevere to enjoy Cacio e Pepi and
Amatriciana pastas. After dinner we had some delicious gelato

Fabulous tour with Livia! She took us from Campo dei Fiori to the Jewish Ghetto to Trastevere, with stops along the way to sample the best local foods. At the salumeria, we tried salami, prosciutto, pecorino, and the best mozzarella I’ve ever tasted. We continued on to the Jewish ghetto and ate fried artichokes and suppli. Livia explained to us that the food in the ghetto was fried so it would last longer. People who lived in the ghetto didn’t have access to fresh food during the week. We walked by the synagogue, crossed over the Tiber River, and walked into the Trastevere neighborhood. We sat at a restaurant and ate two different kinds of typical Roman pasta and drank wine. We finished our tour at Gelateria del Viale, where the owner makes the gelato fresh daily. Livia was an excellent guide. She was knowledgeable, spoke English beautifully, and was kind and helpful. We had a lovely tour and would definitely recommend it.

We always love getting to know a city through food tours. This tour was wonderful way to understand Rome outside the standard tourist attractions. The food was SO much better than what we had been eating around the colosseum, etc. Our guide had many entertaining stories about the history of the area. She was also helpful with random questions about getting around Rome.
She also created a good atmosphere so that the entire group was chatting and laughing within 30 minutes (the wine helped I am sure).
Thank you!!

Frederica did a great job of helping learn about and enjoy typical Roman food. As we tried different foods she shared her own family's dining and culinary preferences. Along the way there was a good mix of learning about history and culture. The gelato at the end was a refreshing way to finish the tour. Now we are ready to eat well during our time in Rome.

Our guide Anastasia was so kind, personable, and knowledgeable. She took us to some authentic Roman spots in the area and, let me tell you, the food? Incredible!! I’ve never had anything like it. I highly recommend this tour to anyone looking to eat and feel like a local. Anastasia knew all the spots and all of the secrets to finding great food around Rome. She also knew a lot of history and had answers to all of our questions. This was a phenomenal tour and I look forward to eating at all of places she showed us, as well as using the tips and tricks she taught us. I’d also like to mention that the price is very reasonable for all of the food and drink that you get on this tour. We left feeling happy and full :)

Don't miss this tour! We took the tour our first night in Italy and despite jet lag, the whole family had a blast! Giovanni was equally great with teens, parents and twenty somethings in our group and we tasted some of the best food of our trip. He was also incredibly knowledgeable about the areas we visited and we learned a lot. Would recommend to anyone visiting Rome!

Hi please can you confirm if the tour is good for vegetarians and pescatarians? Basically we want to book the tour but want to know if there are vegetarian and pescatarian (seafood) options for non meat eaters. Thanks

Hello. The itinerary sounds great. I will be pushing my wife in a wheelchair. Can we get to all the foodie stops without a big problem? We can keep up with anybody, but just want to be sure the wheelchair won't get stuck in the cobblestones along the way. Thanks for answering this question!

I am really not an expert on a situation such as this. The entire tour (98%) is on cobblestones. (There is a small sidewalk portion when going for a gelato.) The tour is not always on a flat surface so there is uphill terrain to consider as well. At the beginning, one needs to walk up steps to enter a business and then several steps inside for the tasting. There is no handicapped access.
There was only the two of us for this tour (we were thrilled); however, a normal tour has many more people with walks down very narrow cobblestones. I am just not sure that this tour would be the best fit.

How did the price go from 98$ a person to 144?

You would need to contact the company. To me this sounds like a private tour. We signed up for a group tour but were the only two on the food tour so it was fantastic. Warning..the stuffed zucchini blossoms are a thumbs down...do not understand the interest!

If you select an evening tour time, is there something you do in place of Campo de' Fiori since that market closes daily at 2pm?
