Excellent Tour Managed by Gabriele & Iliana
Good management of the tour. Showed different tourist attractions, with sufficient time at each. The tour guides were very knowledgeable and helped us with our different requests without hesitation!

Good but could be better with more organization and care of people and better itinerary.
We used City Wonders for a few trips then Gray Line. Each guide was different. One was informative the other was not. We ended up leaving and going rogue again from the museum. It was very slow moving and we had already been late to city due to train no fault of Gray Line. Guide did not have a flag to follow him. The guide was nice but it was get into Florence and… meet back at this point at a specific time then vanished. I felt the itinerary for both Gray Line tours we did…did not have a plan. Unfortunately, due to the care of people (making sure to check constantly of the numbers, always give bathroom breaks where a bathroom was available and even though City Wonders did not always cover food in their trips they made a point to plan a stop or order pizza on your behalf after something so they knew you were fed of you were wanting to eat. My opinion is, I love the high speed train portion I feel that Gray Line needs to be more organized and caring. Still enjoyed the time we separated from the groups so we could just relax.

Enjoyed what we saw, but unhappy we were sold tickets that don’t exist!
Was not impressed with the line we had to wait to get into the coliseum, we were sold ‘skip the line’ tickets! But apparently there is NO skip the line procedure! Why were we charged extra for a convenience that isn’t provided!? Greys I LOVE Rome Tour!

Excellent explanation. Very kind and amazing review of history. We learnt a lot. We enjoyed so much. I cried when I knew the real history. The atmosphere in the colosseum.

    Worth every penny!!
Rita was our guide and was absolutely amazing!! We chose the 8:00 am tour and we were so glad we chose to go early. Rita was able to maneuver us through lines and must’ve known all the right people! Her knowledge of the Vatican museums, and St Peter’s Basilica were remarkable. She had a fantastic sense of humor and was a delight!

    Colosseum Tour w/ Alexandra
My husband and I had the best tour of the Colosseum. Alexandra was our guide. The best guide of our entire trip! She made the Tour interactive and gave people parts as we toured. My husband was Nero. We even had a funeral for Julius Cesar. I would love take her on all on my tours. If you book a tour see if you can request her if you want to have fun and educational tour.

    Could have been better.
The tour was good. They took us to all the big attractions of Rome. Onboard headphones for tourist information did not all work. The buses were crowded and we couldn’t always get a top deck seat. The drivers drove without giving us the chance to sit down a few times while we were climbing the stairs to the top deck. The lurching was dangerous.

I’ll Hop On and Off every trip!
Great time! Bus was frequent, we didn’t have to wait long. Only thing I would suggest is when it rains to have your staff wipe the seats on the top deck.

    A huge disappointment, inexperienced guide
I have been to many guided tours in many cities, I’ve enjoyed all of them. This tour however, was unprofessional. Our tour guide had no experience and told us this. We arrived at the location 10 minutes early as we always do, and met with other people in the group, waiting and walking around to look for the guide. She showed up only 2 minutes before the tour started and waited 10 minutes before starting the tour. She spoke too quietly, was unsure in her descriptions, and didn’t know the answer to group questions. It was clear she felt uncomfortable when she was speaking. The worst part was that she gave no instructions or a meeting location after taking pictures at the Trevi fountain. We couldn’t find her in the crowd and walked around and waited for a few minutes, but ultimately had to leave on our own in the middle of the tour. I do not recommend Grey Line. Our time in Rome is valuable and should be respected.

    Good ride!
Lovely time sat on top open air deck of bus visiting the sights of Rome. The only thing I'd improve is that there is no indication on email as to where the first stop is! All it says is that it's at Roma Termini but that's huge! There's a big grey statue and it's to the right of that.

    Worthy option for some people...
It's no great surprise to say that Rome is a big city. There are the same issues here as most big cities and parts of Rome are dirty and run down. Rome does, however, have some spectacular sites of interest to visit. Don't expect to see everything Rome has to offer in an afternoon but plan what is a must see and go from there. We took this Hop on Hop off bus and it had good points and not so good. The buses were clean and we got seats. The staff on one bus was friendly but another less so. There are headsets given to you and plugging them in to the panel, you can get a commentary in various languages. The buses frequently get stuck in heavy traffic and you need to plan carefully, as the routes can't actually get close to some of the places you might want to see. The attached map may assist you in your planning. It's not cheap but it did save some of the leg work and gave us a break. I'm not going to recommend it as such but it's a worthy option for some people.

Great views with a terrible guide
Rambling incomprehensible guide. Most of us left tour early, worst tour I’ve ever experienced. Guide had no story telling ability whatsoever- jumped from subject to subject and repeated useless and obvious information.

Loved this tour!! Our guide, Val was excellent!! She is very knowledgeable, friendly and professional. She did a great job of keeping up with a large group in crowded areas. She helped all of us feel comfortable at the train station and on the train going and returning. The tour is not rushed. We enjoyed our free time in Venice. The gondola ride was romantic. Even though the city was very crowded, it is beautiful! We made the best of it and marked this destination off our bucket list. We highly recommend this tour!! It is very enjoyable!

We're absolutely delighted to hear that we had such an incredible experience on our tour! It seems like Val was a standout guide, impressing us with her knowledge, friendliness, and professionalism. Her skill in navigating a large group through crowded areas and making us all feel comfortable at the train station and on the train is commendable. We're glad to know that the tour was paced perfectly, allowing us to enjoy our free time in the magical city of Venice. The gondola ride added a romantic flair to our journey, and even amidst the crowds, Venice's beauty shone through. It's fantastic that we could cross this destination off our bucket list. We wholeheartedly recommend this tour for its enjoyable and memorable experience! Best regards, Gray Line Rome

This is our first time to Italy and Venice. Round trips with High speed train were provided. Our guide Antonella was exceptional, very professional, knowledgeable, extremely helpful throughout the tour in providing tips on what to see, and where to go. Antonella is friendliness, patience, and willingness to answer any questions we had. Our tour allowed for rest breaks, plenty of visiting time and exploring. Antonella went above and beyond our expectation. We enjoyed so much and booked two more trips with Gray Line. We highly recommend this Gray Line - I Love Rome company and Antonella tour guide. Venice was beautiful. As a solo traveler, my first time in Italy, it was great having a guide to help get me to Venice. The instructions given on the train and the option to follow the tour guide for a introduction to Venice was priceless. I think I would’ve been nervous about getting lost if I didn’t have that introduction. We were able to follow along for about the first 40 minutes once in Venice. Then we were given the opportunity to explore Venice independently. The instructions about how to find our way around and how to get back to the train were clear and concise. I definitely recommend this tour.

Good experience and first with this company. Got to Venice at Noon. Lost guide at Rialto Bridge. Caught up at 2pm to eat.. food place was not great at all… we went rogue after as we didn’t like the fast pace and not having time to take in sites. After going rogue we went on gondola ride, shopping and even sat down for coffee. We then met group at end of day for Happy Hour. Happy Hour place the spritz was wonderful and so was the appetizer. The train ride 4 hours to Venice and 4 hour’s back can be harsh. Too little time to squeeze things in.

We chose this trip because we didn’t want to get lost trying to figure out train schedules etc. in a foreign language and country. It did the job. Our guide got on us on the train to Venice. She quickly led us to St.Marc’s square then left us to explore on our own. We all met up at a restaurant before getting back on the train back to Rome. It was a long day. 8 hours round trip on the train. Glad we did it and glad we saw Venice . Also thankful we were able to experience it on our own, rather than having someone else dictate our activities, for the few hours we were there.

Rossella was amazing! My mom tore her meniscus a few weeks prior to our trip and she has to use a walker. Rossella made accommodations for her to reduce the number of steps she had to climb. She was funny and sweet and we enjoyed our day with her.

Absolutely beautiful place to visit, shop, eat, learn the history and of course take a gondola ride. I appreciated Antonella’s great directions, information and support to ensure we were making the most out of our time in Venice. So far, my favorite area of Italy.

This tour was perfect for our day trip. 'Fabio' was very informative and helpful. He guided us around the general vicinity of St Mark's Square and to our gondola ride depot, then allowed us time to explore on our own. We never felt like we were abandoned. Venice is beautiful and I'm so glad we decided to take this day trip. This tour is definitely worth it!

My husband and I enjoyed this day trip to Venice. Rosella was our tour guide and was knowledgeable. The train ride to Venice was long, but the train was comfortable and clean. Rosella already told us that the Ferry ride would not be a pleasant experience and she was right. Venice was beautiful. The gondola ride was a must. Overall, we thought it was worth the money. For first-timers in Italy, I think going with a tour guide is the best way to go.

Trip was great. Our guide had a great sense of humar and kept us on track the entire day. She even made special accomodations for us since our gondola ride coincided with the tour the San Marcos Basillica. Lots of walking required, but well worth it.
