We joined Chef Victoria and a young couple at Largo Argento on our way to Campo dFiore for a wonderful day of food market, crusty bed, fresh vegetables, and lovely pasta. This was truly a one of a kind adventure. We spent the 5 hours laughing and talking as we were creating pasta and appetizers and wonderful secondi. We met the nicest couple ever to share our adventure with. What a great way to spend a day - creating great food, drinking fine wine, and basking in stories of Rome.

My husband and I were the only 2 in the group so we got a 5 hour private cooking lesson with Monica. She explained everything in great detail and answered all of our questions. The tour started with trips to various stores and the open market where we bought the food we were later to prepare. We made 3 kinds of pasta and it was all so easy and fun with Monica's guidance. Our 5 course meal was OUTSTANDING and ended with a wonderful chocolate lava cake. We HIGHLY recommend this tour as Monica is great!

Had a great experience with "Laura and Monica." They were very sweet and patient with our group. It began at the market and finished in a beautifully transformed chef kitchen. The food was incredible and we had our hands in every part of the process. Had never made pasta before. I now have an appreciation for the art. Absolutely recommend!

Both Martina and Michaela made this a very memorable and educative experience. Be prepared for an authentic and professional lesson in Italian cuisine. "Hands on" and delectable. Our day was spent with a small group who shared some wonderful techniques and great company. Don't make dinner reservations.

This is a must-do in Rome. Although it will take about half a day (9 am to ~2 PM) you will learn and see so much with native Italian leading the way. It was also some of the best food we had during our Italy trip (and we are foodies!).

The day really is as wonderful as the reviews describe. We had the immense pleasure of having Martina as our guide/chef with Michaela as her assistant. Martina was previously a chef at a restaurant before deciding on teaching and I'm thrilled she did. She was kind, intelligent, patient, fluent in English, and happy to answer all questions about food and Italian culture. Our group was small and it made the entire experience very intimate and I felt comfortable asking all the questions I needed. We started the day at Campo di Fiori as she led us through the markets, describing which vegetables she chose and why (eg, sweet onion to balance the natural acidity/bitterness of tomatoes, which vegetables could be identified as most fresh), as well as taking us to bread shop, cheese shop, and a butcher. Throughout the trip she described what cuts of meat and why she chose them, helping us not only learn about the dish we were preparing but gain a deeper understanding as to why we chose what we choose. The food purchases are all included with the tour.

When we got to the kitchen she and her assistant offered us drinks, making us feel like valued guests, not just students. Martina taught us the difference between types of pasta (southern = flour and water, northern = egg, flour, water) and how to make fettucini, ravioli, and an orchiette type pasta. We chopped veggies, not only made the pasta dough by hand but also cut and prepared fresh made pasta, sliced meats, prepared veal with herbs and proscuitto, and watched the techniques for making our own fresh pasta sauce and preparing the main courses. Martina gently guided us when we would err in our cooking techniques so that we never felt embarrassed (making pasta is harder than it looks!). When it came time to eat each course (there were 5 courses), Martina and Michaela brought us the food in a gorgeous outdoor garden along with wine and whatever refreshments we needed. The food was incredible and not just because our labor went into it - it would have been the highlight of whatever dinner we would have gotten that day.

Martina and Michaela, thank you both for such an excellent experience. We adored spending the day with you both and can't wait until the next time we come to Rome to have another cooking class!

Marco and Natalia were stupendous. Open market, butcher and off to chef’s home to cook meal from scratch with food we had just picked,up. Made pasta from scratch and made gluten free too! So many courses made from class....we left with a new love,of,cooking and an overly full belly of fabulously created meals. Highly recommend you take this class. We were to receive a copy of all the recipes but never did. Also, we were told to sign up for email....so we could get restaurant info and also receive wooden tool to create cavelini. Pasta. Never received either. Only negatives of this booking.

Our chef Mariella is very likable. She explained everything we did. I had a really great time with her and other participants cooking different pastas. If you don't like something she will replace dish with other no problem.
And we got as a gift wooden board for making our own gnocchi (you have to go to other place to get it though).

This is the 3rd cooking class I have taken in Rome and it was my favorite. It was the perfect balance of taste and practicality. Prior classes we had taken were too technical and while the food was excellent, the reality was that we would never make the food again at home. This class struck the perfect balance of information and do-ability. Monica was our instructor and we learned how to make 3 types of pasta, veal, and tiramisu. Just wonderful! I highly recommend it.

We had an amazing day at this cooking class in June. The day starts with a walk to Campo de Fiori local markets to buy the ingredients for what you’ll be making that day. The chefs ensure that everyone likes what you are going to be making and explained what produce to select and why. We then walked back to the flat through the Jewish quarter, learning about Rome the whole time. The flat is beautiful and very well setup. We made stuffed tomatoes, fettuccine, gnocchetti, ravioli, saltimbocca and a chocolate cake for desert. We got to be involved in every part of the cooking and we learnt so much throughout the day. Once the food is almost ready we got to sit down and relax while the chefs plated everything up and served our amazing 5 course meal. The food was absolutely amazing and we can’t wait to make it all again at home! We are so very glad that we did this class and 100% recommend it!!!
