- terryrT6695JY00FantasticThe views were amazing, the tour guide was exceptional. She was entertaining, engaging and just plain wonderful.
- T5942KNmiat00colosseumchristmas tree number 33 very entertaining and very kind and knowledgeable! she needs a pay rise defintely. never had a better guide
- Passenger60631800Coliseum and forumAmazing info and photo opportunity. Christina was great and had so many stories to share. Lots of walking and stairs
- el0pez6600Great way to see the cityThe drivers were a wealth of info and this was a great inexpensive way to see many sights in a short few days
- kathysU2797RC00MehVery difficult to find the bus. Wish there was more information available on their website. Can be very slow going when you are stuck in traffic. If I had it to do over again, I'd go with one of the more expensive companies that had a lot of people around sites (such as the Coliseum) helping people to find the pick up points. We wasted a couple of hours just looking for where the bus stopped.
- Don Z00Excellent tour guide Fabio was exceptional and his history knowledge of Roman Empire Devine and absolute gem of a tourFabio L. Was amazing he was very knowledgeable about the history of the Vatican and art history of Roman Empire , DonatoD
- N5640RFdebrac00Just okayNot really worth the cost. Spent too much time waiting. Guided tour was only one museum ( the tour guide was excellent). Would have liked at least one more guided tour. It was a long day for only one tour. Picked up from hotel at 6:45 and returned to train station about 7:45.
- orryellis00Maria was very beautiful in the way she explained the historyIt was the most gorgeous your I have done. I have done the Colosseum before but this time it was in more depth and made you feel like you experienced it yourself.
- scubaBrentwood00good way to see RomeA great way to familiarize yourself with the sights to see is this way. We used the I Love Rome buses, which need to cleaned. Some of the headphone locations don't work. Putting that aside, however, the ability to get off and explore an area and then get back on a bus and continue on it a great plus. The tickets are sold just about everywhere, so there's no need to buy in advance.
- 156helenh00Naples, Pompeii, Pizza Neopolitana all Fantastic! We absolutely loved this tour. Our guide Micaela, was friendly, organized, clear, professional, and props to our driver Bruno! The bus was clean, and modern. The drive through Naples was far more extensive than I imagined. They know exactly where to go to show you the highlights of the city and ocean views. Next stop; Pompeii! Again, Micaela was was very clear with instructions on meeting times and places. We had the best, and I mean the BEST pizza neopolitana just outside the entry to Pompeii. We guided ourselves through Pompeii, very easy to do. I cant believe we got this much for the money. Highly recommend.
- amybland900Interesting and very enjoyable tour with Agle!We had a tour with Agle, (group 33). We had a great time. She was lovely, very knowledgeable and we were able to learn a lot as a group of 6.
- bethdE6048AG00Tour with RobertaRoberta was a delightful and very knowledgeable tour guide of the Vatican Museums, Sistene Chapel and St. Peter’s Basilica. She was energetic and enthusiastic. I really enjoyed her explanations of the history of each site. We highly recommend her as a tour guide! A real delight!
- Gina B00Papal Audience TourThis was an amazing experience for the 4 of us. Highly recommend. The leaders called ahead of time to ensure we knew where to meet
- garysS2378BD003 stars for the Vatican tour, 5 stars for the Colosseum tourThe Vatican tour was meh. We spent a couple of hours touring several museums that hold the art collections of various Popes. Honestly got a bit boring after a while - although the Sistine Chapel is breathtaking. Because Pope Francis was giving a blessing we were unable to enter St. Peter’s Square or the Basilica. This was especially frustrating because we were originally scheduled to do the Vatican tour in the afternoon, the order was switched the day before. On the other hand, the Colosseum tour was fantastic! Alessandra is extremely knowledgeable about the history of the Roman Empire, and shared her knowledge with us in fun and unique ways. It was an amazing history lesson!
- garycJ7136MG00RomeGreat experience! Easy on off. Have used hop on hop off in other cities and they are always reliable . Usually clean and plenty of seating, bravo!

Tour started with pick up from hotel and then transfer to area to meet the bus. Lack of communication wasn't great at this point and never really improved. Both English and Spanish along with day trippers to pompei were all put into same bus. Bus ride was fine, stopped enough for comfort. Late lunch (2pm) not too bad but wait and lack of organisation was frustrating at pompei. Only 2 hours to explore pompei with a guide. No more time. Day trippers left from pompei while those going to sorrento once again waited both outside the bus and then on the bus. No real tour leader throughout the trip, we had a least 5 different people introduce themselves as a leader, to then disappear a few hours later. The leader for the time being then went through everyone individually on the bus (while it was running and we were sitting in our wet clothes) for approx. 40 mins. We then left to go to sorrento with just the bus driver and no leader. We were not fully aware of the next days schedule either. Once in sorrento the grand hotel Vesuvio was wonderful and nothing could be faulted from the hotels prospective. Dinner included was very large but good as was breakfast. 2nd day of tour included a trip to capri with yet another tour leader and also Spanish speaking mixed together. Blue grotto was closed unfortunately, due to no fault of the tour company (weather). The alternative provided was a boat trip which was interesting enough. Onto capri with 40 mins given to explore, then onto anacarpi where lunch was given (fine, fast service). We were then given 1.30 to explore and transport back. 3rd day included was free time with many choosing a day trip to amalfi coast for 50 euro each in a private car. Pick up from hotel and transport back to Pompei and then onto Rome with return around 8pm. Overall the price of the tour was not reflected in what they offered. Very poor communication and organisation left us wondering what was happening and who would even be there to help us (why we paid for a tour in the first place). Wonderful places to visit, a rushed tour and apart from transport and a nice hotel this tour offers not a lot else.

Dear tourist, Gray Line Rome's Feedbacks Team just re-opened after Covid-induced closure and we just saw this old review of yours about a trip to Pompeii you attended in 2019. Strangely, we hadn't acknowledged your contribution back then and we would like to apologize for it. We're doinfg it now. We are thankful for your detailed report of the trip, and we are sorry that some aspects of it left you disappointed at a certain degree. We understand the confusion you must have felt for the frequent alternation of the tour leaders. As you noted, some of our tours are made up of different components causing some people joining in or detaching from another group of people, which depends on what kind of tour they booked and their next destination. We hope you appreciate our effort to connect all the different parts of a tour in a smooth way, even if it is very arduous to achieve from a technical point of view (many services, providers, as wells as many different needs are involved). Adding to it, we are sure that our tour leaders do their best when it comes to adding a personalized touch to the experience of each and every customer on board. Having said that, we are aware that things may go wrong sometimes, and so we thank you for bringing up some level of criticality that we can monitor more closely and make better. Kind regards, Gray Line Rome Reviews Team

I hired a Ford Focus in Naples after my flight arrived there. Drove through built up modern flats and tower blocks to emerge with sea views and wind fields into rock walled roads. Not for the faint heart I would say take a bus. Once out on the Amafi coast the beauty of the scene is amazing and blue sky meets bluer sea. The road evens out and you come to Sorrento the most perfect village town ever to witness.Looking down the harbour wall the sea is a long long way down. I had coffee and my eyes ran around a marvelous place with green walls in planted tubs in centre of road selling foods of all sorts and coffee.Big statue of saint Antony stands as divisional marker as one side of town is at his back the other at his front.Only what he see is blessed according to the public. i traveled on to Capri that day and loved it. For those who are old enough you drive past Gracie Fields Villa and can look into was the 1940s actress garden. Her tomb is there too. On ward back to Sorrento as i had booked hotel room and dinner in a place behind the Saint at lesser cost and just as good. Many of these Hotels are booked up by tourist agents for guests. It was out of main season so managed one night in peace. I would go again at drop of a hat but. Please read my blog sirkevinshistoricfacts.com.

Very well organized and thorough. Easy transfers between mini-busses and coaches. The bus guides Valeria and Lydia were nice and friendly. In Naples we were joined on the bus by the local guide Lena from Naples who explained the sights of Naples and then guided us through Pompei. She was very knowledgeable but overbearing at times with a lot of repetition. She became annoying at times especially around the brothel. She made a big fuss about and repeated that the children (all two of them) cover their eyes or must look down. She refused to discuss the brothel and kept saying “look at the pictures “. All in all, Pompei was fascinating. Dinner at the hotel in Sorrento was fair. Service was great but a bit stuffy. Although two dinners were included we ate at Pepi Bianco the second night and had a fabulous dinner. Capri was fun and very crowded this time of year. Great views and some shopping but really not enough time to do shopping and chairlift. Blue Grotto was fun and unforgettable experience. Our guide Sasha tried to be an entertainer instead of a guide. He spent too much time speaking Spanish and not enough English. All in all, we enjoyed tour and would recommend highly.

Very well organized and you get a lot for the money. There are transfers between mini-buses and coaches, which at times might was annoying, but our tour guide Valerie made it very easy and pleasant. First tour is Naples/ Pompei which was amazing. Then they bring you to your hotel (we upgraded hotel) on beautiful cliff side on Sorrento! Breakfast and Dinner were very good. The Tour of Capri and Anacapri were very nice (unfortunately the Blue Grotto was closed due to high tides). We had a beautiful time in Sorrento and Capri-- both have breath taking views! Worth the money for getting to visit South of Italy! They also pick you up and drop you off to your hotel if you are in center of Rome.

Dear Guest, thank you so much for your detailed review which will benefit us and the community that supports us. This escorted three-day tour (also called Dolcevita tour) encompasses Naples, Pompeii, Sorrento, and Capri (with Blue Grotto) and is a great compromise to get an idea and see the highlights of the south of our country, the Bel Pease, if one doesn't get to spend a long period in Italy. We're happy you enjoyed your time with us, we hope to see you soon! Best regards, the Gray Line I Love Rome Team

Hi. I am looking forward to possibly taking this adventure in June with my friend, We are hoping to make reservations separately but be on the same trip, NOT the same rooms. Is that possible. Also which hotel would you suggest.
Thanks
Melissa

I was back by train and bus so cheap as subsidized by Government.Cost me about 12 euro back from south to north but took 6 hours. Best to visit Rome have a break. Go south another holiday to better enjoy. I have been all over Italy and only return to visit friends so not sight seeing much. Italy is not as cheap I found this time having done that tour for far less years ago. Still if you are careful witch cash it is still possible to find best deals as Italians are not rich folk they will barter a bit with price. Most speak English well but sign language works too just be expressive. I speak Italian but not good enough for long talks.
