This tour had an easy to find meeting point and we only had 6 in our group. We left on time with just a short drive out of the centre of old Rome. Larisa was our tour guide and as she was an archaeologist, we were treated to some extra history lesson regarding the catacombs and aqueducts. Her passion of history was evident. Luckily we had a beautiful morning & strolling thru the Appian Way was very relaxing. There were opportunities for toilet breaks & gift shop stops . The Catacombs themselves were amazing. Arriving back to Rome at lunchtime. The office staff and call centre were all easy to deal with. The headsets were all good quality sound wise with the tour guide easy to understand. Highly recommend.

This is the BEST way to see the catacombs. Convenient meeting point in center of Rome and comfortable, air conditioned transportation to all the sites on the Appian Way. Marcello was an excellent guide! Extremely friendly, great sense of humor, very knowledgeable, and full of fun facts! I highly recommend this tour!

Super great tour! Marcello was one of those great tour operators who seems to love telling people about Rome in a fun and sometimes very funny way. He seemed to know how to pace the tour so everyone had time to see and hear about what they wanted without feeling rushed, or bored because it was too slow. Highly recommend this tour.

We booked this tour as we wanted out friends, who were first time visitors to Rome, to get out to see the Appian Way, as well as the catacombs and aqueducts park. If you look at the pictures posted by the tour operator in the tour description you will see at least two pictures of the Appian Way. These pictures are of a very picturesque section of the Appian Way that is primarily used by pedestrians and bicyclists, and takes you past ancient monuments and thru the countryside. We know this as we have walked that section, and presumed ( not unreasonably ), that the tour would go to where they pictured in their description, but we were wrong. Our bus parked at the entrance to the San Sebastian catacombs, and we walked a public highway from there to a spot where there was a short section of cobbled roadway, between two paved roads. This section of the "Appian Way" came complete with a parked car and caution signs marking a pothole or something along those lines. When I asked why we we were not going to the area shown in the tour description I was told that the tour never went there, due to time constraints, and the iinability of the bus to get close to that area. When I mentioned that at the end of the area shown in the photos there was a main road, I didn't get an answer, only an apology. We then went to the aqueduct park, where the bus parked by a golf course and we walked about 100 yards along a road to the Claudian Aqueduct. The group then stood there for about 10-15 minutes before the guide told us to walk back to the bus after giving very basic info on the area. While there were other aqueducts within the park, the guide made no effort to show any of these to people, or to even take them beyond the end of the road where the Claudian Aqueduct was located, behind a fence limiting access. It is listed as a walking tour, but there was very little walking, with the majority of time spent on the bus and at the catacombs, with little actual sightseeing. The only reason it gets two stars is because they did deliver as advertised at the catacombs.
Otherwise a very poor tour, which did not deliver what was advertised and expected.

Marcello was so knowledgeable. He gave us an overview of Rome in addition to the wonderful info about the catacombs, Aqueducts and Appian way. It felt like a private tour. Catacombs were a nice break on a hot July day. Highly recommend this tour guide!

This was only a 3 hour tour, but it covered a lot of ground. We traveled by bus and did a bit of walking. These are three important historical sites to see just outside of Rome, and are all definitely worth visiting.
