I’m giving this a 4 star because Capri is absolutely amazing and so worth seeing! This was a very long tour about 16 hours .. I didn’t mind the bus ride because of the scenery but I felt like this tour was a little rushed and unorganized. We had Ellie who was our tour guide. She was very sweet but needed a little more spunk/energy while giving this tour. Other than that, she was good. Thanks a lot to the bus drivers getting us there safely. Oh one thing..... the FOOD, free lunch is included but the food was not good at all! Be careful with the waiters there.... we were told that drinks were not included but the servers basically made you take the sangria that they gave to everyone at each table and then charged you $8 euros afterwards which wasn’t fair at all because it’s not like you we’re asked if you wanted it.

What you must do on this trip is the hour boat ride around the island ! It’s so worth it and so beautiful. It’s better then going on the blu grotto- which is nice but I heard you can wait 3-4 hours for going under a cave for about 4 minutes. When visiting Italy, I would recommend maybe not taking this exact tour but seeing the island of Capri. there’s nothing like it! I hope this helped.

First tip: YOU DON'T NEED TO BOOK AN ONLINE TOUR. It's simple to buy your own tickets for the ferry to the island, for attractions on the island and for getting around.

GETTING THERE FROM NAPLES TOWN CENTRE: Montesanto Metro station, 900m walk to Molo Beverello. Get the fast ferry from Molo B rather than from the Porta Di Massa from where the slow ferries depart. Cost is about 20-25 Eu one way . You can use any of the many companies.

UPON ARRIVAL ON CAPRI: At the Marina you have 3 transport options for getting around, in order of increasing cost: local bus, Minivan or private taxis. Head to the tourist office to left across the road from the exit....they sell return tickets for getting to Anacapri, Capri and the Marina. Buses run every few minutes and are cheap.

Buy your tickets for the chair lift to the top of Mt Solaro here as it allows you to skip the queue at the actual cable station.

Get your return ferry tickets at the Marina at the end of your day...quick and easy with clear signposting.

If you want to see Capri while visiting Rome no matter how far you have to travel or how little time you get to spend there then this is the tour for you! It really gives you just a taste of the beautiful island and I really wish we had more time to spend there! Our tour was very well organized and the guides maximized the short amount of time we had there for sure. The bus trip is long yes, but there is a pit stop for a break which helps (no eating or drinking allowed on the bus). The ferry ride was a little bumpy, make sure you have seasickness pills with you if you need them!
On the island we were whisked up to Ana Capri in a small bus which is a town on the top of the island. Unfortunately the day we went on was very misty so we did not attempt the seat swings up the mountain so we walked around the little town streets which was just as lovely.
The lunch was 3 courses and you could chose and option from 2 different starters and 2 different mains. Drinks are extra. We were not able to get to dessert because we had to fly back down the mountain to get on the next boat trip around the island. This was the second option since the blue grotto was closed but I must say it was well worth the extra €18! It’s about an hours ride around the entire island and you get to see different caves along the shore lines and the guide was very entertaining jumping over the big waves and skillfully reversing into tiny caves.
Like I say, this tour is only a taste of Capri and if you want to see the island rather book yourself a day or two there, it is worth the while! I know we want to go back!!

We just returned from our 13 hour day trip to Capri from Rome - it was wonderful!

Christine was the best guide! She was knowledgable, multi-lingual and incredibly friendly! She also kept a great pace to the trip.
The drive to Naples was pleasant - we all had plenty of room in the bus. And once on the island, we all took an unexpected 1hr boat ride around the island which was by far the highlight! All of the grottos were gorgeous! Go on the tour, or any tour Christine gives, you will be very happy!

Hi guys! We booked with Green line tour a day to Capri. The island is lovely, but if I'll go one more time, definetely I'll not use the same company. Here is a list with WHY NOT:
-long time waiting in the sun for them to get organised;
-you'll be in a rush all the time; if you don't walk really fast, you'll be left behind. We had a couple with a child. The guide didn't pay any attention to them; she crossed the street fast between cars; expected us to do the same -this couple was always behind.
-the actual amount of time spend on the island:2 hours (free time to explore)
-she offered some informations (basic, nothing exciting; not a really interaction with us-a sort of boring geography lesson)
-she spoke two languages :spanish and english (the informations were less detailed in english comparing to spanish, as I understand both)
-she was chatting loudly with the driver italian; they we'll comment everything you're asking (really annoying-we paid for an english speaking guide)
-if you're not at a central hotel, you have to find your way back alone. we asked about a taxi station or to let us somewhere close to the hotel. Her answer was : I don't know were is your hotel (we had the road, adress, a gps map-she just wasn't bodered to have a look)
-at the end of the trip, I kindly said :Thank you! Bye!. Her answer was: In Italy we say 'Good night, not bye'
I've found her a bit rude, to be honest.

p.s. Capri is famous for Limoncell o( we bought from there but we found in supermarket ( in rome) the same drink produced on the island for half of that price)

To whom this may concern,

Green line tours has been a catastrophic experience since we arrived in Rome . We booked 2 tours totaling over 200USD per person giving this tour company a total of over 800 USD between our group. The day we arrived we made the mistake of booking a site seeing tour while still being at the airport . I called green line tours to see if they would accommodate ( it’s okay if they couldn’t ) but the operator hung up the phone on me and said I should have called yesterday. I than called back and tried to explain to her it was an accident and I wasn’t looking for sympathy - I was simply inquiring . Whether the visitor is wrong they should not be treated with utter disrespect and disregard. When I spoke to the operator she was extremely rude and abrasive. Later on that evening I called green line tours to ensure our pickup time for our Capri trip and the same operator picked up the phone giving attitude. I told the operator that I was only trying to confirm the time so that we wouldn’t have an incident . In my attempt to just simply gather information I was rudely rushed off the phone and almost had to beg for information .

The next day when the driver arrived at our hotel at 6:39 am and NOT 7 am as told on the phone we were rushed to another site in which we made a bus transfer. The tour guide on the bus was clearly “ in way over her head “ . The bus was almost was full to capacity and there were individuals holding seats for their friends and family they knew were running late , causing the on time individuals to have to struggle for seating . Once we found seating a passenger approached my travel partner and demanded her get out of her seat to accommodate his wife and children . My friend refused to get out of her seat to accommodate him because it was simply ridiculous that this man thought he had the given right to demand someone out of their seat in which they paid 177 USD for . The passenger began to become angry and disgruntled , demanded that he had the right to tell her to leave her seat. He than approached the tour guide asking her to tell my travel partner to get out of her seat. Instead of the travel guide telling him they had a over capacity bus and couldn’t make such accommodations, she asked my travel partner to get out of her seat. Multiple partners started to intervene asking why she was being treated in that manner. The travel guide than tried to correct her actions by stating “ she can get up if she wanted too”. This was clearly disrespectful and no apology was giving.

Once we got off the bus the travel guide gave everyone stickers for Grotto stating it was apart of the excursion which was unbeknownst to me. Once she realized she was giving the incorrect information she started running frantically trying to recover all the stickers she gave out. Now all the passengers were confused at the lack of skill and preparation this tour line .

Once we arrived on the ferry to take us to Capri we had no instructions of what was next etc . The new tour guide now arrived and immediately started complaining that he had to repeat his self over 10 times giving directions (as if that wasn’t his sole responsibility for the day). He was complaining how he was loosing people etc. Just a utter chaotic mess .

Once we arrived in Capri we were shocked that everything listed and advertised seemed to be absent. There was was no beaches we had access to pretty much NOTHING and we only had 1 hour of free time . This was simply not what we paid for and the treatment we received while being on this excursion was just simply too much for one person to bare . My group of four had a horrible time and we would like to reimburse . If the refund is not giving we will contact our banks as this was truly a scam and the customer service was simply disgusting.

Thank you for your time ,

Renée Saunders

Green line tours have planned a rushed day with stops at tourist trap type curio shops. Rushed around Capri when we got there and didn't get enough time to enjoy the beautiful scenery the island has to offer. Capri is an amazing place. If you are traveling from Rome, rather take the train, its about 30-40 Euro and a 1 to 1.5hr journey. Then take the boat to the island from Napoli. You will have a much better day. Same could be said for visiting Venice from Rome, but that will be another post.

The tour guides were awful. They didn't speak English very well and they never told us what was happening. They were rude to the tour guests and arrogant. Lunch took an hour an a half and staff were inattentive. We kept having to ask for our food, our dessert and our water. I would have preferred to be given 4 hours to do what I wanted. We didn't get to go to the blue grotto, go on the sky rail, the beach or go to the peak of the island. Three of which we knew nothing about. The guides should have made us aware of the different options we had. They got us off the bus and let us go. No information just what time to be back. They walked so fast when we would go from one place to another leaving guests behind to figure out where they were. I would not recommend this tour company to anyone.

If you're in Italy this should definitely be on your list. You get the chance to take a boat tour around the island, visit the highest peak to take some great pics, shop, and eat. Cristina and Pino were also great guides. This tour agency has each event down to a science. No time wasted on this tour.
